We found the staff very helpful, lovely food and the room was so comfortable, We would recommend to anyone who wants a great base to look at the Towns and countryside.

We arrived to a warm welcome and quickly shown to our room. Tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable with ample towels and decent sized tea cups. We had an evening meal that was well portioned, reasonably priced, wonderfully cooked and served with a smile and breakfast in the morning was an equal delight. Having found this jewel we are planning another but longer visit.

Comfortable enough.
A satisfactory inn for one night. Room was clean and comfortable enough. You had to climb steps to get there and the steps were outside. I’m afraid there wasn’t the warmth that we felt from other places especially from the owner. The breakfast was average at best. Old fruit. Dinner was good.

Warm and hospitable
Great little inn…. Warm and hospitable.. perfect for a group of us on Bike trip…. Breakfast was great and Ying was very hospitable…. Fully recommend!

Quiet, neat and comfortable accommodation with relaxed booking in process. Friendly, helpful staff with great meals. The mattress on the double bed needs to be replaced with a slightly firmer one and shower head holder was broken, which requires replacing. Anyone requiring accommodation in that area, I would definitely recommend it.

weekend away
Stayed here for the second time, as we enjoyed it so much last year. We stayed for a couple of nights and ate there on both evenings. The room was clean and spacious, the service excellent. The food is great, and there is plenty to choose from. I chose a Thai dish one night and a Jalfresi the next night, both were the best I have ever tasted. My partner also enjoyed both his meals. The portions are large and although we shared a starter on the first night, we still had difficulty finishing our main dish. So the next night we didn't try a starter, and my partner just had enough room for the homemade cheesecake. The service in the pub was excellent and it was very busy - so you need to book.The Castle Inn is in a small village, but there is a bus or train to Knighton if you want a trip out. We did the walk to Knighton around the hills at the back - it stated it was moderate and around 5 miles. The scenery was lovely, and there were many hills to climb. Luckily the weather stayed with us until we got in to Knighton, we stopped at the Horse and Jockey for a drink, and the heavens opened . So after a couple of drinks we got the bus back

lovely stay
we stayed for two nights and could not fault it,not over fancy but very nice,spotlessly clean, very comfy in a lovely quiet location, very friendly owner and staff, the food is absolutely delicious, cooked by the owner there is a range of authentic Thai dishes and English dishes, with pies that must be tried, wish we could of had longer to try more. dog friendly which is a bonus with a good outside area, close to some beautiful scenery, would definitely stay there again, at the least stop for a meal if we were passing that way.

This is a Gem of a place to stay in Wales. Exceptionally good value for money and the freshly cooked food is delicious. Rooms were spotless and staff couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. The locals were very welcoming too. We stayed three nights and the only regret we had was that we weren’t staying longer! We will definitely be going back

Wonderful
We stayed here on the way back from the right. Communication from the owner was fantastic, and the room was wonderful. Clean, warm and with very comfortable beds. Breakfast the following morning was just the ticket! Good choice of food and great quality. I would definitely recommend and will definitely return

We had a lovely stay at the Castle Inn, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. It was a shame the bar and restaurant was closed that evening (we didn't notice the winter hours!) but the breakfast was great and it looks like a good pub to visit so we will be back.

Heart of Wales walk
Overnight stay whilst walking Heart of Wales walk. Great staff - friendly, professional and helpful. Room was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. Food was delicious and all home cooked. Overall an excellent stay

Friendly Hotel
Booked this night for my parents as it was my Dads birthday. The feedback is that the hotel staff were amazingly friendly & helpful. Even making a bespoke desert for my mum as the standard desert is to big for her. The feed back on the meal was its the best meal my parents have had in a restaurant As a surprise I wanted to pay for their meal - spoke to Ying who arranged everything for me. Nothing was to much trouble.

Excellent stay with great food
Very enjoyable one night stay on our way down to Carmarthen Bay Check in was very informal and we were in our room in no time The bedroom was quite spacious with a comfortable bed The bathroom had a shower which was very good We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was excellent The portions were very big and the prices reasonable Breakfast was freshly cooked and a good start to the day

Would definitely recommend a stay here. Reasonable rates and wonderful service. Private access to room. Very hospitable host. Lovely bar and restaurant area. Room very clean. Only thing that could do with updating is the carpet in the bedroom.

We enjoyed our stay at Castle Inn. The village was quiet and the location was good for walkers like us. The room was very clean and the bed was hugh and comfortable. Food was good at the Inn.
