I had a fantastic stay at Casa Falleri. It’s in an old mansion with loads of character and random trinkets everywhere. Everyone on staff was incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful, and José the bartender makes excellent pisco sours and chilcanos - and good conversation too! As a solo traveler it was the perfect place. Barranco is also my favorite neighborhood in Lima - less pretentious and more funky than Miraflores, full of great restaurants, bars, galleries, craft shops, etc, and the hotel is just a block from the ocean.
Just a few things to be aware of: my room was very small. The bed basically took up the whole room. This was no problem for me as all I really wanted to do in the room was sleep anyway, but if you need to work, there wouldn’t have been anywhere to do it. Other rooms might be bigger, of course. There’s also a fair amount of street noise if you face the street - but it quiets down later at night and didn’t affect my sleep at all. Because it’s a really old building, it’s also a bit musty.
I am spending one last night in South America right now in an ultra-modern business hotel in Colombia with every imaginable amenity and my room is huge....and I am missing Casa Falleri and wish I could have one last pisco sour at the bar! Thanks for a lovely stay!
