This facility does not run as a real hotel but rather as a family rental. I could not leave my baggage for a few hours after checking out because I was told no one would be there for the rest of Sunday! Seriously?!! It is also so inconvenient that you have to leave your keys every time you leave the hotel and then get them back when returning. Usually, there is no one at the front desk, and you have to look around or call a number to get help. Moreover, the furniture is pretty outdated from 50 years ago, and the water in the sink are either cold or too hot (two separate faucets); you cannot mix!!

Thank you for your review I am sorry that you have not enjoyed your stay. We only open for accommodation Wednesday to Sunday (Check out) and therefore once we close for the day on Sunday we are unable to store your luggage. We only have 8 bedrooms and there just isnt much demand Sunday/Monday and Tuesdays. Being a period property we have not had cards installed to lock and unlock the rooms, the keys are heavy and easy to loose which is why we request them to be handed in. Its also part of our fire risk assessments to know who is in the property at any time. I am sorry you couldn't find the staff - they are usually along the corridor in the ground floor bar area. Images for the decor and style of the rooms and our bathrooms are on line. The Bath has a mixer tap but the basins do not.. the feed back re the taps will be taken on board if we change any of the sinks Thank you again for your feed back.

Couldn't recommend
Had to leave hotel before checking into room and fly home due to a family bereavement. Receptionist advised she would mention to management as she didn't have authority to process any form of refund and nobody was there who could. Messaged the following day and was advised by Sue she would look into this in the office that day. No response. Sent a follow up message two days later. No response. Ghosting customers a terrible example of customer service.

Thank you for your review Jamie. I did look into your reservation but I needed to speak to the colleague you spoke when you checked out of the hotel. They were not on shift on the 21st August, and then I was on leave (your next message came on the 22nd August) I spoke to them on my next working day, on the 27th August, I messaged you that day.I am the only person that has access to the Expedia platform to respond to messages. No automatic notifications of messages are received and so you have to log in to see the messages - which I do every 4-5 days. I sent you a message then to contact Laura with your card details to arrange a refund for part of the accommodation paid we have no access to do this without your information.This review has only come through to me this week.I am sorry you think we Ghosted you, we would not do that.
