Arrived at the property to an overwhelming smell of cleaning products and gurgling sounds from the sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms. Using the toilet once resulted in the ensuite bathroom shower flooding with sewage water across the floor. Contacting the owner/property manager was fruitless, no answer to the numbers we were provided with. Reaching out to vrbo proved equally pointless as they tried to contact the property manager but got the same result. 2 hours on the phone wasted.We had to move the mattress into the kitchen as the smell was overpowering in the bedroom. Following an incredibly poor response from the PM the following morning (essentially, fix it yourself - sorry, I’m not a plumber and I didn’t pay a significant amount of money to be fixing obvious pre-existing sewage issues),we booked into a new place that day as the apartment was incredibly unhygienic, unsafe and unfit for anyone to stay in ( further inspection of the property found faeces in the courtyard gutter that was starting to slide down the wall). I won’t even get into the mould.Sadly the PM thinks this is all fine as they are not issuing any sort of refund with the barest of apologies. PM also wanted us to check that the issue had been fixed despite us repeatedly telling them that we had moved out days previously and had handed back the keys. If you like being scammed, this is the place and property manager for you. Still waiting on our deposit they promised to return to us over 2 weeks later.
