First the good: -A very old building with character. Cool part of town-Updated Kitchen and bathroomsThe not so good:-Tiny rooms, which is typical for taking an old historic building and shoe-horning as many apartments in there as humanly possible to make money--not unlike Boston in the US-Rest of apartment highly questionable. ---NO ventilation at all, only windows. Felt quite stuffy to enter---bedrooms so small can barely move---Dust caked on bathroom exhaust fan..would take 3 seconds to remove---Smaller (imagine..) bedroom had bed shoved up against a window and literally on top of the radiator incredible fire hazard..bed had a huge divot in it the size of canyon---The window this bed was shoved against had a completely rotted out window sill, old, flaking wood...very very off-putting----The kitchen door was help open by a used, torn up piece of sandpaper. some may consider that "quaint". I consider it lazyI am sure its fine for many, but I am too old for rotting wood and less-than clean conditions. My son and I found a place in Kensington in a beautiful part of town, perfect apartment that was modern, clean and fantastic for less money. As I said, it its certainly livable, and I wanted to emphasize that our host Karim was great, very responsive and helpful. We received most of our many back from VRBO which is also highly commendable to them. So I will continue to rent from VRBO and hopefully do so in London again. Just not this particular apartment.
