I booked this trip in March. I gave up ocean views because the photos on the listing were absolutely gorgeous! One of the pictures shows green grass, palm trees in planters and flowers and it’s captioned “your large private patio (the heated pool is immediately across from it)”. There’s another picture with a beautifully kept courtyard that’s captioned “5th floor courtyard where my unit is located. My unit faces the pool.”I coincidentally received an email on May 27 (exactly one day after the last day to request a 50% refund, and of course way to late to request a full refund) that stated “the hotel exterior is undergoing a necessary restoration and preservation project through November 2025”. Further down in the email it gives me all the details about the temperature of the heated pool, and says how he is not responsible for pool or spa malfunction. It says in case of said malfunction the pool at The Eagles Nest is available to guests to enjoy free of charge. What that email should have stated was that the pool was in fact being completely torn out! It should have stated that any and all signs of greenery had been ripped out and all that remained was piles of dirt, and debris and the patio was completely unusable! Table and chairs removed! It was a complete shock when I walked in to discover this mess outside the patio door and bedroom windows! Vacation ruined! Marc did not respond until I contacted VRBO!
