First time VRBO

Pictures and in person was different but nothing which deterred us. Lots of mosquitoes in the front entrance and my thoughts because of soo many trees. Ants on the door frame and on the front porch because it's an older house maybe built in 50s or later. Check in was a bit of a hassle because neither code I tried worked so Vanessa set another code and had no problems. Inside has been renovated and is very comfortable. If you have any disabilities like us, the house may not be ideal. There are stairs going up to the bedrooms. The house was extremely hot the temp was set on 80 for the top and bottom so the first night it took a while to cook off. Only 1 full bathroom for 3 bedrooms so could be an issue if you have friends or family. There is a small Harry Potter bathroom under the stairs but it's a half but works well. The 3 bedrooms are nice, again homey puts you at ease. The full bathroom has everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lots of towels). The shower/tub combo did drain extremely slow to the point where you stood in water almost to your ankle. Also the master bedroom light/fan combo remote is broken. So my husband had to unscrew the light on the combo to use the fan. Told Vanessa about both but the remote is extremely old so we continued to unscrew the light at night to use the fan. We put draino down the tub and it started to drain faster. Kitchen has everything you could need but when we walked in I saw a 4 inch dead roach and freaked. My husband had to take it out in the trash which roaches petrify me. But again we would only be here for 2 nights. The small backyard was ideal for our Service Dogs with both of us having medical issues. DoorDash provided a local meal from a Mexican restaurant which was DELICIOUS...not once but twice! If you are over 6" like my husband then showering is rough. He would run into the chandeliers hanging down and he couldn't raise his arms up in the shower. Neighborhood is an older community but I like that. For some it could be run down. Remember old school charm not new modern house. The question I ask myself is will I stay VRBO probably not I have decided I'm a hotel type person. However if you like old school charm, then this house is for you.

Perfect weekend, quiet and cozy house

Great quiet neighborhood and very helpful owner make for very enjoyable stay. Very easy to get anywhere in town and had everything you needed to stay for several days and relax.

Delightful and Cozy Home!

The property was as advertised and exceeded my expectations. The home was cozy and well maintained with all the essentials you would need for your stay. Everything in the property worked properly and was in good/great condition. The rooms were comfortable and the living area was big enough for my entire family to enjoy together. It is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood with friendly/welcoming faces, great for a morning walk or light jog. Everything you could need is fairly close and obtainable, unfortunately I didn't have a car during my stay but I was able to use ubereats and have some food and supplies delivered to me. One thing that won't be described enough in the listing is the great host! Vanessa was excellent with communicating from check in to check out. She was available whenever I had reached out to her. I had accidentally set the security system off in the early morning and she available to help with the situation immediately. Vanessa also went above and beyond with a request I had made involving the TV (I was trying to purchase a pay-per-view event), although when I called her she was unable to help, she would later call me to let me know she found a solution and I was able to enjoy the event in time. Her efforts to help her guest really enjoy their stays and provide beyond what is expected is commendable and makes her a great host! I would definitely recommend a stay here and will be looking forward to staying here in my future visits to Marshall!

Lovely home & neighborhood

House was adorable on the inside and I loved running/walking through the nice neighborhood in the mornings. Very clean and comfortable! It was perfect for us during our week at the Josey Barrel Clinic in Karnak. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Spacious two story

Great value with reasonable expectations

The listing was accurate, which is more than I can say about most rentals these days. My only complaint about the process before checking in was needing to provide a picture of a government issued photo ID to the property owner. The communication was clear and simple with the property owner through the VRBO/Homeaway app messenger. It was an older house in an older quiet neighborhood. The pros of the older neighborhood are mature properties/landscaping and privacy. The neighbors were very nice. The cons are its more difficult to access from the main roads. There is 1 full bathroom for 3 bedrooms, which is not ideal, but again was described accurately in the listing, so I was aware before booking. There is a half bath downstairs, but its very small. The price was fair considering all of these things so I feel objectively it was a 4 star stay with that in mind. I'd have given it 5 starts for the booking price if I didn't have to provide pictures of our ID's, there was a reasonably sized gas grill in the backyard, and there was a tv remote for the TV downstairs (I have a roku app on my phone, so was able to work around that). I would rent there again.

You can do better

We really enjoyed the place just we had a bug problem in the kitchen One day it was moths, then nats, finally flies this was the cycle repeatedly. There was to many stipulations and when we was trying to extend for another month the cost double. They also have cameras and will ease drop as I caught them cause I have vivant and know how the system works........
