This apartment is everything advertised but better in real life when you are standing in the living room, looking out both windows, and staring at the gorgeously blue Mediterranean Sea!
The apartment is very nicely finished. All things are up to date and in excellent condition. There is an amazing amount of storage for such a small space. We were very comfortable for our week long stay. We even cooked one night in the tiny, but very efficient, kitchen - which was a treat because we enjoyed the perfect view while dining!
There were some beach extras provided (big towels, umbrella, and pads) that we greatly appreciated. Coming all the way from California, we just can’t pack those things, so it was a treat for us to sit comfortably on the rocky beach in the shade! Very thoughtful!
Catherine and Philippe were awesome hosts! They were in great communication with us for over two years as we waited on Covid. Catherine even picked up a week long parking pass for us, which was so appreciated since we bumble through the French language when trying to figure these things out on our own. It was wonderful to finally meet them in person. They provided a wealth of information regarding the apartment and area. Just a top notch experience all around.
We had some fine meals out while in Menton, but a surprise sleeper was the Bistrot de la mairie, which we stumbled upon while doing laundry next door. We enjoyed a very generous coffee crème while we waited for our clothing to dry, and decided to give them a try for dinner. We were not let down and pleasantly surprised at the quality of our meals (risotto with scallops and the most delicious Thai salmon!). The service is very honest, kind, and attentive. Pricing is very fair. Give them a try!
We hope we will be fortunate enough to revisit this little charmer in the future! Thanks to the hosts and the owners for making it so pleasant for guests.
