Family Trip
The cabin was perfect for our family. The private beach was amazing and views was spectacular, enjoyed the fire pit cooked s’mores. The check in process was easy and owner made everything easy and communication was above average. The gift basket and of bread and blueberry jam was a nice gesture we appreciated everything about the property We highly recommend this cabin, we definitely will will be back

A weekend getaway!
This property is gorgeous! We loved the private beach. The lake is so clear. The water is cold but the kiddos didn't care. They had so much fun on the beach and in the water. The house was very comfortable for the 7 of us. The location is great! We went to the pictured rocks, a couple of waterfalls and the sand dunes. We would definitely like to return someday!

Lake Superior is the back yard

NO SAFE drinking water so dishonest
Deceitful, dishonest and what gives rentals a bad name. Not until the week before were we informed the water was unsafe to drink. The owners knew of this for months, yet this information was not communicated prior to full payment. Had we been made aware of the situation we would NEVER have chosen this rental. Yes, there is one dispenser of safe water located in the kitchen to obtain safe drinking water. VERY INCONVENIENT every time you want to brush your teeth and it is disgusting showering in yellow/rusty water. Very, very dishonest. Will definitely not be going back to a disgustingly, deceitful rental property. Shame on the owners.

Hi Lisa, We are very sorry about the water issue during your stay however you are incorrect about us being "deceitful"! We let you know about the water issue as soon as it became a problem. You were given the option to cancel your stay with a full refund, but you declined. It seems the water issue got worse during your stay and we only discovered it after you left as it was not reported. Since your stay, there has been a temporary fix and the water is clear and usable. A new well will be installed in the spring. The water does have an iron taste to it (common in this area), which is why a Norway Springs water cooler was installed with water delivery service. This provides great tasting drinking water. We imagine the low rating stems from you getting caught trying to sneak in four dogs instead of just one that you reported upon booking, plus not following the rules and policies, damages to the cabin and missing items from the property. VRBO Customer Service was contacted regarding some of these issues and for that you are retaliating.

Amazing Location and Communication
The location was absolutely incredible and exactly what my family was looking for. There were some water issues that the property management knew about and had warned us about and they are in the process of fixing but was a bit frustrating. Girls trip.

We had a wonderful vacation! The home is right on the beach, very private with its own firepit. We had several fires in the firepit which is just a few feet from the water. It was a beautiful setting for watching the sunset, incredible starry nights, with the moon rising directly from Lake Superior. Modern log home well maintained, with all the amenities. Great Location, in Christmas MI. The Pictured Rock Tour boats, Pictured Rock Hiking Trails and several Waterfalls are minutes away in Munising MI. We enjoyed all of these natural wonders. Lisa (host) was very attentive making sure we were well taken care of.

Location beautiful. House very nice - but age has affected the structure. - opening windows on south side brought overwhelming stench of septic system in. Sweat stained pillows for pull outs. Yuck. Not sure if it was the lake or point source tap water that made us itch . . . Strangers pulled up to store a boat in the garage - ? Good thing we werent using it! “Hot tub” is a jacuzzi. Overpriced. Two stars.

Great property with a great location!
This property was perfect for us - two adult couples vacationing together. Two bedrooms with two baths on opposite sides of the cabin with kitchen, dining and great room in between. The beachfront is fantastic and great for a campfire in the evening. The location was perfect for us as we hit Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks cruise, Pictured Rocks hiking, Sugarloaf mountain, Presque Isle Park, and numerous waterfalls. There is a casino in Christmas too if you need a break from hiking. Supplies are abundant in Munising so don't worry forgetting something or packing enough food. Lisa did a great job of providing us with information for our stay and we couldn't have been happier about our week in the UP! Will definitely be back again and would love to stay at this cabin again!

Julu 2022 trip
Easy to find, close to Munising, Au train and other attractions. The house had a great layout, view of Lake Superior, beach and sunrises from the living and the bedrooms. The beach was awesome.

Great floor plan.
This rental was extremely clean and quite private. There are two primary bedrooms with their own full bathrooms on either side of the house separated by a great room. This makes an excellent set up for two adult couples. The kitchen is great for entertaining with newer appliances. Great home!

Great lake front cabin
This cabin is in a great location. It provides excellent privacy, but is a short drive to everything you need in town. We loved having our own little beach and wish the weather cooperated better to enjoy the lake and have a fire. The cabin is very clean and stocked well with all of the kitchen essentials, plenty of towels and extra pillows. It does have a whirlpool tub in the master bedroom that we didn’t take advantage of while we were there. There is also great phone coverage and internet while at the cabin. We would stay here again.

Quick Getaway
We made a last minute decision to getaway for a long weekend and we couldn’t be more pleased than to spend it at the cabin! The cabin is on the older side but it has been well maintained and is very comfortable. Lisa was a great and attentive host and we would definitely recommend and book again in the future. Our 3 year old has been asking all week when we can go back. Thank you for sharing with us!

Wonderful house with great view!
My husband and I and my twin brother and his wife stayed here in Sept., 2020 so I’m a little late with my review. I still wanted to leave one because it was such a nice property. The house was very clean and very spacious. Bedroom are on opposite ends of the house which provided privacy for both couples. We used the fireplace every night. It put out lots of heat and provided great ambiance. The view from the beach is terrific! We hope to stay here again.

Cozy House, Breathtaking Area
We had a great stay at Sunrise Beach. The property is beautiful, the kitchen had everything we needed, the house was cozy, and it was very easy to work with the owner! It's a little slice of heaven close to numerous hiking trails, waterfalls and other sites to see, the town of Munising, and despite wanting to "unplug" you still have cell service and WiFi for when you need it. Pictures don't do the nature trails, waterfalls, Pictured Rocks, and other sites justice.

Nice stay
Stayed here with another couple as a base for hiking House was as listed and right on Lake Superior. Very comfortable beds, clean and nice floor plan. Good communication with property manager. A bit dark inside and no deck or outdoor furniture (except a few folding chairs) so didn’t really get to enjoy outdoors. There was a fire pit but wood not provided and needed to order wood 2 weeks ahead for $50. Gas fireplace inside was tied to thermostat so shut off when got warm. A bit odd. Did have a TV with lots of channels. Overall this property worked out fine for our purpose but would probably go elsewhere next time given the price.

11 day stay
We stayed here 5 years ago. We enjoyed the cabin then so that is why we rented there again. Still the same cabin. This time though, we had to deal with mice! We wish we'd known prior to figuring it out the day after we arrived. Our group had small children that were playing on the floor when we seen the droppings. We contacted the manager about the issue. They were already aware of this. The part of our group with children decided to go home. For the price of the rental I felt that the rodent problem should have been dealt with prior to renting or at least let the renters decide if the situation is acceptable. The location and condition of the cabin is still the same nice place.

We live in a very rustic area in the U.P. and with all the critters we have around, once in awhile we have an unwanted guest. We were not aware there was a problem until you contacted me three days after you arrived. We offered to move you to a luxury home so we could have someone come in and take care of it, but you declined. It also helps to keep the place neat and tidy during your stay so as not to attract the unwanted guests. Take care, Lisa

Great winter getaway
We stayed over Christmas and New Year’s and had a great time. The property is very secluded and private. Perfect for long walks, hiking and certainly the lake is great. We loved it and will be back. Lisa was super helpful and everything worked out perfectly!

SNowmobile Base CAMP
We rented this house as our base camp for our annual snowmobiling trip to the U.P.. This is a great houise right on the lake, very private, secluded, lots of trees, near the trails...a really nice place. The only things that I would say could use some improvement are as follows. Phone charging outlets on the night stands would be very helpful. I couldnt even find an outlet that was accessible to the night stand in the master bedroom. The master BR was very dark unless you went around to multiple lamps and turned them on. 4 of the "Sleeps 10" in the listing includes two fold out couch beds in the living room. Its a little misleading. Now, with those very minor items being listed; I'll say again that this is a great place and I would stay again!

Great family getaway
Each year our family gets together with dear friends for an annual vacation. This year we chose Lake Superior. The cabin was exactly as described and the private beach was perfect for our children. We'd highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

Cabin Getaway in the Woods
We had an amazing trip to this cozy cabin in the woods nestled directly on Lake Superior. We were able to use this home for two families and it was perfect. The wood cabin truly gives you a sense of camping but with the luxuries of being in a home. The house is located within a short drive to town where we could launch our boat for a nominal fee. The driveway to the cabin is large enough for a couple cars or even a boat (should you decide to bring one) The cabin is also pretty close to the local grocery stores. We found Family Fair to be our favorite for all the things we needed. We were able to make many dinners in this home and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We even found a shaker to make margaritas!! The house does not have A/C, but do not let that deter you. The evenings cool off so much that opening a window is plenty and the sound of the water breaking on the beach is just serene. Whether it was the early morning cup of coffee or the star lit evenings, having the walk to the water right out our backdoor, could not be beat. The kids loved looking for rocks. It was a great escape! Would absolutely come back again! We miss UP already.

Fantastic!
This property is the best of both worlds-woods & beach! The pictures don't do the cabin justice. Close enough to several towns & activities, yet far enough away for privacy. Extremely clean & well stocked (I do suggest bringing plastic storage for leftovers). Lisa was so easy to work with! Try Tracys @Roam Inn for a good meal, & Falling Rock Cafe. Would stay here again & highly recommend!

Family getaway
Our week stay was great. Our family came up for some summer relaxation, hiking and lake access. Our dog especially enjoyed the everyday jaunts in the lake. The beach area was very convenient, clean and relaxing. The cabin was spacious with plenty of kitchen ware and utensils for all the different meals we prepared and accommodated our family very well. We will definitely be planning another trip back.

Secluded spacious log home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very spacious 3 bedroom 2 bathroom log home. We took full advantage of the fire pit by the beach. It felt like we were the only people by the lake. The woods hide neighbors. Loved waking up to the sunrise over Grand Island. It's very close to Munising - but you feel so far away....We explored many waterfalls and took the boat ride to see the Picture Rocks. Lisa was great....

Peace and relaxation
If you’re looking for some time away and want to avoid the city and just escape, try Munising. My wife and I (and dog) rented this perfect cabin on the beach and spent some much needed downtime lounging alongside the lake and enjoying the sound of the water. The cabin is very secluded and has everything you need for a quiet getaway. We were able to take long walks down the beach and quiet road each morning and just ease into the day before heading out to enjoy the sights around Munising. The rental process was easy and any questions we had were answered quickly and to our satisfaction. We definitely recommend this cabin.

Great views and Beach
This house is everything that you would want in a vacation spot. It had amazing views of Lake Superior as well as direct beach access. The house is very clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this place.

A little slice of paradise
Just stayed here for 3 nights Friday-Monday. Ideal location about 10 minutes west of Munising, and about 40 minutes east of Marquette. Very secluded, and the home is super comfortable. Beds are great, kitchen is superbly equipped, and the owner has included lots of great local maps and suggestions for the area. The outside area is great - loved the firepit and had some great fires late into the night, since it really doesn't get dark until about 11 pm. Beautiful sandy beach with a view of Grand Island. Owner is quite responsive. Would definitely return. Thanks for a great weekend!

Excellent weekend get away for our family in a quaint log cabin!
Absolutely breathtaking views of Lake Superior from the front porch of this log home on the beach. We loved the cool evenings from the comfy screened in porch as well as relaxing on the beach in the zero gravity loungers. Excellent location and so close for day hiking at Pictured Rocks, we also loved the privacy of our surroundings. Thank you Lisa for the excellent customer service. We truly enjoyed our stay!

The DJK Family
We recently completed a four night stay at this beautiful place. This home is located on a sandy Lake Superior beach with views that will literally take your breath away! The sunrises in the morning are stunning and memorable. Serene, private, and oh so comfortable, you will not want to leave! Make sure to take morning and late evening walks on the beach. Outstanding!
