GO TO CRETE and do not miss this museum. My art history class memories came alive...the Snake Goddess, the Bee Pendant, Cycladic pocket goddesses...they are all there! The museum is comfortable and these object and more are displayed beautifully.
Use the Central Parking Garage, about a 5 minute walk from the museum and it was reasonably priced
Nice museum, we went there first before Knossos to have context on what we will be seeing. Bus stop to Knossos across the street from the museum. You can buy tickets for both in the museum.
I was amazed at the quantity & quality of items on display. The building is very modern and well kept. I thought this museum was much better than the Acropolis Museum.
