I’m disappointed that my parents were charged for another rooms drinks and we had to wait for our bbq pack to arrive as reception believed it was for another room. This was unacceptable when secrets prides themselves on being up class accommodation.
The location, views, cabins, walkways, and the incredible wood carvings were a unique artistic experience. Only one tiny annoyance…. No butter for our toast!

A forest stay
Our accommodation was in a converted old railway station relocated to site. The location was fantastic. Rainforest all around with a lovely lawn area at the front. It was very private and quite, just the birds in the forest.
The shower and toilet were a bit cramped but otherwise it was perfect.

Hello John, Thank you for your review. We hope to see you again another time. Maybe you would enjoy trying a stay in one of our Treehouses where the bathroom is more roomy.
What a gem of a place! We stayed in the Whistlestop cottage. It was lovely. Well appointed and spacious and a logfire was burning on our arrival - it can get a bit chilly in the rainforest at night. On Mondays the restaurant is closed but no problem as a preselected BBQ hamper was delivered to the cottage at about 6pm which we cooked this on the “barbie” area with a spa bath set up a path at the back of the cottage. It was a heavenly spot and was lovely to sit on the verandah afterwards for an after dinner glass of wine before retiring! It is a beautiful part of the world set in the rainforest and you feel as if you are the only people around. Very peaceful. This is highly recommended and we will definitely go back and were only sad that we stayed one night. We had a stroll around the rest of the property and down to the lake the next morning as we checked out . Incredibly beautiful place.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Secrets on the Lake. The location is amazing and the secluded cabins are beautiful with everything provided to make our stay very memorable.
We will definitely be back.
We spent 3 days here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have picked a better place, it was paradise. The treehouses are beautiful, we felt as though there was no one else around. The lake is warm and great for kayaking and swimming. The nearest trail is a few hundred metres from the entrance. We will definitely stay here again.
Very impressed with the location. Fully recommend it to any couples looking for a relaxing and tranquil getaway. The owners and staff are very friendly and provide exceptional service. No adverse comments.
we arrived and were greeted by friendly staff everything explained in detail and then shown to our accommodation. most impressed with our whistle stop ( old railway station ) accommodation everything provided for an excellent stay. well maintained area.
Secrets on the lake..... Well where to start.
To sum it up in one word.... Amazing.
The views are magnificent with each cabin overlooking the lake, which can also be enjoyed by going for a paddle in one of the canoe 's.
We stayed in ' The Bower' each cabin has its own name. The carvings and the structural design of the cabins have obviously been created and crafted out of pure passion. My hat goes off to you all at sects on the lake. Thank you so much, we found it very difficult to leave.
Montville village and it's surrounds is a must see.
Amazing hotel had such a peaceful and relaxing time and everyone was so friendly wish I could of stayed linger. Will definitely come back in the future
Had a wonderful couple of days in the Whistle Stop Cabin, a truly delightful setting, and really friendly staff also. Attention to detail is really top notch
We enjoyed our stay in the whistler cabin piece and quiet warm fire place to heat up with at night not to far to go for your shopping great walks and views to take in.
the only thing I could complain about was that there was no HOT water to feel the spa bath but it didn't stop me from using it lol.
A beautiful room in a beautiful, peaceful and utterly serene place.
Great facilities and great staff. Beautiful grounds to find even more serenity.
The room was pretty dark.
Really need three nights to thoroughly enjoy it. Would highly recommend for those looking for a beautiful, peaceful get away. Beautiful surrounds. Had an awesome couple of days. Will go back again! :)
