Not as nice as pics
Place is dirty and not fixed up for arrival. Dishes in the sink and in the dishwasher, generally is neglected and hasn’t had a good clean in some time. The yard is also messy and unkempt. Location excellent and host communicated really well.

The place was perfect for 2 people. The only thing that I thought was different was that the bathroom was upstairs. I only say that because in the middle of the night I get lazy and want the bathroom at arms reach. We did not have time to enjoy the backyard even thought the second day was absolutely beautiful spring like day. Enjoyed the stay very much.

Needs some improvements but overall good place
When arriving the host brother met us and was very kind. The biggest issue is what many complained about, steep and narrow stairs to the room and the multilevel of the outside isn’t pet friendly as there is no grass areas and very steep . The front door has quite a gap so ants etc can get in and cold air. The stairs to the bathroom definitely need a more secure railing and better lighting. There is someone above the room as a rental and they were very noisy walking back and forth (big dog that barked and cried a lot). There is a window that has no blind so I had to block it with pillows because (a) privacy and (b) light coming in so you can sleep. The subdivision is nice. Kitchen needs more normal size bowls and silverware (they were very small or huge ones for like noodles and had holes for chopsticks). No hand towel or washcloths provided . Water pressure for sink in kitchen and bathroom shower is awful and took a long time to get hot water. Bathroom sink handles are loose and definitely installed incorrectly, needs to be fixed for sure. Tried to use the washer and dryer provided and unfortunately the dryer kept turning off, I was able to YouTube to fix thankfully. Need bins to keep recycle etc to carry to big bins. Outlets on the right side of couch don’t work. A lot of junk laying around outside area. I believe host will fix issues. Quiet area and overall good place with some things to fix.

Oakland/Crocker Heights Hide Away
Spacious property, parking, quiet, furnished nicely. Nice to have a fully stocked kitchen, large TV and access to the outdoors. Wonderful neighborhood!

With a little work this could be a 5-star property
This apartment is located in a very safe and beautiful historic Oakland neighborhood that has easy access to the freeway while being very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is spacious and the owner, Vin, is very friendly. I want to mention a few items that are preventing me from rating this a 5-star property. 1) Upon our arrival we only received one bath towel for the two of us and received no wash cloths or hand towels. (Vin was quick to remedy the lack of towels, but even so, he only had one wash cloth available.) 2) The bathroom faucet handles were wildly askew, pointing at 2pm and 1pm, when they should be at 9pm and 3pm. The hand towel rack on the wall wobbled and there was only one towel rack to hang both bath towels. A second towel rack would allow the bath towels to dry more quickly. 3) Getting to the apartment required navigating 13 exterior, steep and narrow steps down to the basement apartment, then 1 step up. A hand rail runs along the steps but is impeded by a very thick vine, so this is a safety issue. Because of the steps, this apartment is best suited for someone with a backpack rather than roller bags. 4) The handrail for the dozen interior steps up to the bathroom is very wobbly and does not continue to the top step. This is a safety issue. 5) The light switch for the interior steps to the bathroom is located at the top of the stairs, and because the stairs are made of dark wood, without some way to light the stairs at night, this is also a safety concern.
