My team and I came in town for a professional conference, driving almost 7 hours. We were exhausted and hoped to be able to rest and relax upon arrival. However, we were extremely disappointed with the condition of this vacation rental upon arrival. The floors were dirty, there was food on the couch, the bathrooms were clearly not cleaned, (toilets not clean, hair in the showers, bath mats filthy, debris in drawers and on the floor), and one of the steps was detached — a safety hazard. The walls were filthy, and the microwave didn’t work until the last night of our stay. Two ceiling spots showed signs of leakage, and overall the home, while beautiful, was not maintained properly. I immediately contacted the property management, emailed pictures and videos.Despite contacting the host immediately and asking twice to speak with a manager, we received only a string of excuses. Housekeeping was defensive, even demanding proof of the uncleanliness, which we provided through photos and video. We were forced to purchase our own cleaning supplies to make the space usable — mopping, sweeping, and scrubbing bathrooms ourselves. We traveled with staff for a training and expected a professional, clean space. Instead, we had to clean and deal with irritated maintenance workers who seemed inconvenienced by our concerns. The home has great potential, but the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and professional customer service made this stay a frustrating experience.
