a ripp off: I ordered a cuatriple room for my family. When I arrived I was told that I only reserved for one perosn (a cuatriple room!!!),, thus I had to pay an extra of 60.- poundsd per night. I bargained it down to 30.-, but still I found this is not the right way to treat someone who paid the correct and very high price for such a simple room. The sofa was so small, that my son slept with his feet outside the bed. The extra foldable bed for my daughter cracked, when she laid down, forcing her to sleep on the flor on the matress. For this room price: a shame

Hotel muy practico
El hotel está situado en el centro de la ciudad es muy bueno para hacer turismo. El personal es muy amable y dispuesto para ayudar y hacer la estancia lo más placentera y fácil posible. Es un poco como un laberinto y al estar en un edificio muy antiguo no hay ascensor con las típicas escalera de casa inglesa

Cama incómoda y lavabo muy estrecho.
Muy bien ubicado, pero necesita actualizarse. El aire acondicionado es portátil y hace más pequeña la habitación. El lavabo está reformado. El personal muy atento.

Excelente situación / ojo con las escaleras
Hotelero encantador justo frente al Baliol College, así que la ubicación es inmejorable. El personal es amable y nos ayudó a subir las maletas (ojo, no hay ascensores, y las escaleras son muchas y empinadas). El desayuno, normalito, pero el café muy decente.

Small little 'boutique' hotel in the heart of Oxford. Nice sized room, and had everything we needed for our short stay. Don't plan to bring large suitcases...navigating them with the tiny staircase would be tough! Staff was very friendly and provided all the answers to questions we had. Would stay there again.

The location is perfect, coffee, tea, water and cookies are served inside the room. We are a big family and we booked two rooms, they made no effort to keep us close rooms and we even lived on the 1st and 3rd floor. There was no hot water on the 3rd floor. The room on the first floor was crooked with the bed that would fall apart in a few nights.

The hotel is very well located, next to all the attractions. The room was nice and clean, very comfortable bed. I highly recommend it, you can reach both the colleagues and also pubs, restaurants and shopping area by walk.

Great overnight spot
Very central and close to the train station. The room was large, clean with good facilities. The stairs are very steep, so not easily accessible, but would stay again.

Great, top location, close to everything you want to visit. The room was big and comfortable. The bathroom was cold (heating didn’t function) and one day I didn’t have hot water. But nevertheless I would recommend it because of the location, clean, comfortable and quiet.

The hotel is clean and conveniently located. We stayed in a front-facing room which was spacious and had views of a beautiful building across the way. We were able to store our luggage for a few hours and explore Oxford more freely on our last day. Would stay there again.

Creaky but comfortable
3rd floor, no lift, makes an older woman out of breath. However, it was expected, and the view was very nice. Hot shower with plenty of pressure and a comfortable bed; everything I needed.

All good. The night shift person was not super familiar with finding us a chip shop, that because i don think there is one! Would be halpful to provide guets with isb chargers, it is the 21st century.

Lovely little hotel in the city center.
It is a lovely little hotel in the middle of the city. The room was large, clean, and the bed was comfy with a modern bathroom. The hotel has quite a few narrow stairs to climb to rooms. I got quite a bit of street noise in the morning. I would book here again.

Loved our stay at the Buttery. The stairs were a bit of a surprise. They are narrow due to the age of the building. We were hugely rewarded with what I think was the best view in the whole building. LOVED IT!!! Clean, comfy beds, beautiful views, lovely antique doors knobs, quirky windows. LOVED IT ALL! Thank you Buttery and staff you did not disappoint!!

This is a wonderful cozy spot near everything in the center. And for my tastes, so close to Waterstones Books. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the lack of elevator. The narrow steep winding stairs are a bit precarious. However, the staff was proactively helpful and they carried my luggage up to the room and back. So … no real problem.

Office staff very friendly & helpful answering questions. Central location is the big plus. While the old hotel has a lot of character, the steep stairs are a challenge to maneuver with luggage, especially the triangular steps where the stairway curves.

Meh.
It is less of a hotel and more of a boarding house. It is some rooms above a shop. The stairs are very narrow and twisty. The room was pokey and not cleaned very well. The room had no desk (aside from a small table that had a tv and a kettle on it. No space to work. There is no breakfast served here. For an overnight business trip it is alright, but far from inspiring. Close to city centre. Very expensive for what is offered.

The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and everything worked as it was meant to. It's a matter of expectations... There's no room service or lobby area...this felt more like a boarding house than a hotel. No minifridge, but there was an electric kettle with excellent coffee and tea selection, and daily biscuits. For the price, it was truly perfect for my 4-day business trip. The location is unbeatable. Front desk attendant lifted my ridiculously heavy luggage up and down the 3 flights of stairs for me, including at 4:30am. King bed was very comfortable. The street noise was very limited at night, though if there had been more people on the street it would have been intrusive.

Excellent location, very central, across from Trinity College. Public square outdoors proved very noisy one night after midnight, but otherwise a lovely stay.

Even though my room overlooked Broad Street, it was entirely quiet. But one should be warned that the hotel has no lift and the stairs not only have high risers but are also sometimes narrow at turns. I was on the third floor (fourth floor in North American terms), so it was quite a climb, but the staff volunteered to lug my suitcase up from the desk on the first floor to the third floor! There is a light for the bathroom mirror, which you may not discover unless you touch under the mirror on the right-hand side. And there was a delightful little tray for putting a wet tea bag (the complementary biscuits provided along with the tea and coffee were particularly good). The only drawback to this hotel? That climb to the top storey.

Highly recommended
Enjoyed a lovely stay in Oxford for my daughters graduation. The Buttery was perfectly located, the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size, although a bit dated. Tea and coffee tray provided, no breakfast option, plenty of restaurants/cafes nearby.
