The property overall was very nice. It had great access to the beach, and within walking distance to Alvin’s Island and a pizza place and ice cream shop, which was great for the kids. Conveniently located to restaurants in town as well. The downside was the AC. Despite the listing saying it was air conditioned, they failed to mention it was a temporary unit duct taped to the window. The central unit had not been working for some time. The temperature in front of the temporary unit was fine, but the entire unit never got below 79. Not ideal when coming in from the beach or pool in August. And definitely made cooking a challenge, and the bathroom stayed like a sauna, since there was absolutely no air circulation. Despite reaching out to the property manager upon my arrival, they showed up to my condo at 11:00pm. When I mentioned the issues the response was “Is the portable until not blowing cold?” Telling me they knew the AC was a problem, but didn’t see fit to let renters know. They did eventually give a partial refund, which was fine. VRBO told me it wasn’t hot enough in Panama City to justify a Booking with Confidence adjustment, which is hilarious for a person who wasn’t there to tell me it wasn’t hot. The portable unit was very loud, and the fan they provided to help circulate air was very loud, so to sleep, me and my kids had to decide between being warm or listening to loud fans all night. Either way, none of us had an easy time sleeping. If the AC is fixed, it’s fine.
