This is a really special place, primarily due to the staff (who likely include the owners). They were very welcoming and accommodating. The cabins are quaint and get the job done, in a somewhat rustic way. We enjoyed their communal dinner twice and it was fantastic, and breakfast was great, too. I would definitely stay there again!

There are no words to describe the beauty of this resort or the kindness of the staff. By far the best experience I have ever had traveling…the scenery was breathtaking, SO many activities to keep us all occupied, VERY peaceful, food was 5 star and the staff went above and beyond on everything. Loved our accommodations - clean and spacious. We cannot wait to go back and will recommend it to everyone we know! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

We loved the charm, comfort, and beauty of this property. The pool was heated, which we appreciated. The walking trails were poorly marked so we didn't get where we thought we would, though it was very scenic. Some minor improvements I would have liked include more hooks on the walls, particularly in the bathroom. A grab bar in the shower would also have been nice. A big plus would be in the food area. We didn't expect this and had to drive 15 miles to get something to eat for dinner. Even a cup-o-noodles would have been sufficient. Also, I think it's great that they offer vegan breakfasts, but not all of us are that stringent: I had to ask for butter and cream. The only negative thing we experienced was when they pumped the septic tank. It was near our cabin and it smelled quite nasty. Going outside was unpleasant, as was opening the door! Since it was fairly brief, it won't keep us from returning. Perhaps we'll be in Arizona next year! Thanks to the ladies at the front desk - you were all very friendly.

Hi Julianna,Thank you so much for the nice rating, and also for taking the time to give us this feedback! It appears that our "Welcome Letter" email that is sent out prior to our lodging guests' arrival, did not ever make it to you through the Expedia portal. We've had issues with the portal not delivering emails in the past, but will be more diligent in the future to make sure guests receive this information. The Welcome Letter does state that we are in a remote location, and that we only offer dinner on select evenings, so we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of not having this knowledge. Our breakfast is not all vegan, but we did happen to have several vegans in house during your stay, so the options did lean more in that direction. We are always happy to accomodate all diets though. And it is very unfortunate that you were here for the septic situation; however, it is necessary for our lodge to operate efficiently. We hope you understand, and we will also consider all of your other feedback as well. We can’t wait to visit again! The property is AMAZING, horses were on sight super convenient. They had a number of options for rafting, kayaking, hiking, the kids swam in the pool and there were a bunch of pool toys there. Beautiful view, staff was incredible, we are planning to go back and do the guided hike. The cabins are small and the beds were not great but that is always a risk when traveling.

Best Kept Secret!!
Love this place! Location is supreme and the scenery is gorgeous! It sits on the salt river where you can begin your kayaking or tubing without the crowds. The personnel that work there are fantastic and so friendly! I really can’t say enough about this place! 5th time there and will go back again. The BBQ with live music was a lot of fun and the food was so good!

My family had a great time on the river! The staff at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch were amazing! They were very friendly, helpful and kind. My 12 year old son even commented on how nice they were! The grounds were nicely kept and our cabin was perfectly rustic. We will definitely be back!

Saguaro Ranch is a hidden gem tucked away in Tonto Park. I’m so glad I stumbled upon it during my search for a hotel on Expedia. It was rustic but had upgrades where you would want them. The only downside was that there was limited WiFi. Typically I wouldn’t have minded, but I was there on a business trip. I wish I could’ve stayed longer! My hope is to visit again with my family. Thank you Saguaro Ranch for a great visit.

Being out here can definitely disconnect you from the outside world, WIFI is occasionally spotty and only available in the main lodge. A place to loose yourself in nature’s beauty. Fun people lots to do yummy food. I would definitely come back and bring the kids. Wild horses beaches kayaking you name it it’s here for your enjoyment.

This place is truly a hidden gem. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Great hiking and activities and beautiful scenery right from your cabin porch. You’re just a 15 minute drive from downtown Mesa but you’re completely in immersed in nature. The “golden hour” when the sunset reflects off the cliffs and mountains is worth the visit alone.

This is the best ranch there is in Arizona. It has tons of things to do from riding horses to fishing by the lake. The greatest was good and the best service you can get. Everyone is friendly and helpful and would recommend anyone looking for a calm and peaceful vacation to look no further.

Everything was beautiful. The surrounding, landscaping, everything about the place was great. Only improvement I would suggest is New Shower Heads in for the bathroom. Other than that I absolutely Loved and Enjoyed my stay.

We enjoyed getting away from the city and staying in the quaint, well appointed cottages. There was a breakfast provided daily, but only on Saturday and Sunday were they a hot cooked meal. Other days a boxed snack was offered, consisting of juice, fruit, 2 hard boiled eggs, a pastry, fruit snack a but bar along with a packet of peanut butter and jelly. There is a restaurant up by the marina where you may enjoy meal while enjoying the beauty of the lake. The marina rents boats, if you don’t bring your own. The ranch has a swimming pool, shuffle board and offers kayaking trips at an additional cost. There is also a horseback riding stable that provides several trail ride options. I enjoyed all of the activities as well as my stay. The high cliffs along the river and lake are amazingly beautiful. You may see wild horses grazing along the river, turkey vultures, Hawks, bald eagles, mountain sheep and an assortment of migratory birds in the area. Common are cardinals, red wing black birds, cow birds, roadrunners, swallow, and vermilion fly catchers. You are guaranteed to enjoy your visit if you enjoy a laid back, wilderness filled adventure. Don’t expect a television, phone or windows-if in your room. They do have a mini fridge and microwave. I will definitely be back again.

The cabins were clean and the setting was beautiful. We loved all the flowers and the scenic backdrop, and how close we were to the river. Our only complaint was the beds were a little too hard.

It was like going back in time to growing up on a ranch. The squeaky slamming screen door was music to my ears! Loved every minute of my time there.Cabins were very clean and the property was amazingly beautiful. Definitely plan on going back!
