Family weekend
Huron Lodge was perfect for the 8 of us. Wonderful place overlooking the lake. Since we were there in November, having a garage to park vehicles was a bonus. Information and directions from host were thorough and very helpful. Really enjoyed our time there.

Wonderful Family Vacation
I would highly recommend this vacation rental. The location on the water is wonderful and Monica and her husband were delightful to work with. There was something to do for all ages. The lake is clear and great for swimming and boating.

Wonderful time
Spent 3 nights at the Huron Lodge, everything was great. House has all we needed, water was crystal clear and calm, weather was amazing! The only thing needed a little more attention is the beach, it has some dead trees and branches, some old benches thrown there which makes this small area looks not maintained. We still enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and pier fishing. We all had a great time there.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate the feedback on the beach area. For the last 3 years we have been experiencing extraordinary high water which has impacted our beach area and killed several trees. The water is now starting to recede. The two dead trees referenced are on the lot line and are just now out of the water. We are planning to have them removed in the fall when we have no guests at the property. The other tree and brush are not on our property but on the property next door which we have no control of. We have removed the benches.

Second stay here
We stayed here 5 years ago and selected this location again for our family get together. Only disappointment was that the lake levels were high so beach area was under water. We had fun anyway and enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.

Great house, Great Lake, great location
This was a great place and we enjoyed our stay so much we are already talking about when we can return. The only thing that was disappointing to us (and it’s very minor!) is that the primary dishes were not microwave friendly. Everything else was great!

Thank you for your feedback. Those were new dishes that I hadn't realized weren't microwaveable until after we had them. I will make sure to put some additional plates/bowls at the Lodge that are microwaveable. Thanks again.

Wonderful get away
We had a great week at Huron Lodge. The accommodations were wonderful. The weather was spectacular and we really enjoyed time in and on the water. Our whole family enjoyed our time together and we hope to return.

Family fun
We had a wonderful time at Huron Lodge. There was plenty of space for 9 adults and 2 kids to sleep and play. The outdoor deck provided a perfect viewing spot of the pier. Several fish were caught (and released) from the pier. We enjoyed using the water toys. Although the water level was high and the water was chilly we had a great time. The dining table had plenty of space for indoor games played during the two days of rain. Thank you for your hospitality.

Excellent Stay
The property was very clean and spacious. Anything and everything you can possibly think of was provided and in good condition. Perfect location, the water of the lake is very clear and clean. It was fun for the kids and adults, great time with a family.

Excellent Experience!
This property was perfect for our Memorial Day Weekend getaway. The home was clean, organized and comfortable. We fit 10 adults comfortably. Having the host close by was helpful and she was very responsive. Plenty of supplies on site (garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, soap, etc). Having washer and dryer available was great. We loved the fire pit, boats and games. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous lakefront getaway
Spacious home, came with an absolutely amazing view, secluded from neighbors but close enough to town that you can do an easy grocery run every morning. Owners were communicative and very helpful. Would love another tip sometime!

Relaxing Lakeside Retreat
This property was perfect for our annual mother daughter weekend. It was quiet, clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for our large party. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning.

Great Home!
This home was beautiful, comfy, very clean, and had everything we needed... including the perfect layout for 3 families with the loft, main, and lower levels! Our host Monica was very responsive and helpful both before our trip and during our stay; she took time to collect specific details about the seating as it related to my 90-year old father so we could adequately prepare, and expressed other concerns about his comfort and safety as we were arriving. Great property and host!

Our family has been coming up to the Wautoma Area for 35 years and this cabin was our favorite. Monica and Dan were amazing hosts and have thought of everything. The cabin itself was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The lake is very clear and we loved swimming in it even though the water level was high. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Extended Family Getaway
Overall the property was just as described. Monica & Dan were quick to respond with any questions that we had leading up to and during our stay. We had a total of 9 people in our group but the house offered enough room to spread out even on a rainy day. We all enjoyed the use of the watercrafts and had a great time fishing from the dock. Perfect for our family vacation
This was a great location and the house is set up so well for families with a diverse range of ages and sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is well equipped and has a great supply of dishes and tableware suitable for children as well. We had a fun time catching lots of fish off the dock and swimming in the quiet lake. Overall a wonderful family vacation experience!

Great end to the school year!
Huron Lodge was a great destination for our 8th grade class trip! Students were entertained by the water equipment and the great fishing right off of the dock as well as the many amenities inside the house. Monica was a great communicator, even letting us know we would want to steer clear of some road construction. Our group would highly recommend Huron Lodge for any small group gathering!

Excellent lake house for family gathering
We had a wonderful experience at Huron Lodge! The house was clean, comfortable, and full of thoughtful amenities. The views from the deck were fantastic! We enjoyed our time on the lake, using the kayaks, paddle boat, and stand up paddle board. The lake was clean and so clear! Although we were told that water levels are high, we were able to easily access the lake with the boats and our kids were able to splash in the shallow water. Evenings were spent around the firepit with plenty of chairs for everyone. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond to our questions. We would love to come back someday!

Girls sewing weekend.
We were a group of five women--Myself, three daughters, and one granddaughter. We enjoyed being together as we sewed, did crafts, visited, ate, and enjoyed our beautiful lake home. The accommodations were great, the kitchen stocked with appliances, dishes, etc., plenty of towels, and bedding. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

Peaceful Vacation
The overall experience was great. Monica was a big help with finding restaurants and store. The place was the perfect size for my family. Everything was fully stocked as if we were in our own home. We were able to go down and paddle boat with the weather being so nice. The kids loved it. Sitting out on the porch watching the sun go down was the best! We have to come back again when its warmer outside to truly enjoy the lake.

The Fall colors are picture perfect
Huron lodge provided everything we were looking for in a girl’s family getaway weekend! The colors of the trees were absolutely beautiful! We went in mid October when they were in full orange, red, yellow and greens hues all around the lake! Monica and Dan were great hosts. The place was clean and ready for us to settle in for a few days!

Terrific getaway
We were 8 adults with plenty of room! The cabin was very clean and Monica and Dan thought of everything to make us comfortable. It was a bit chilly when we arrived and they made sure to have the fireplace on! A little chill didn’t stop us from enjoying the rowboat, paddle boat, canoe, fire pit, etc.... It was a short drive to Stevens Point where we enjoyed wine tasting and restaurants. All in all, a relaxing long weekend with all the amenities of home and a beautiful view!

Perfect fall weekend get away
We rented Huron Lodge for a long weekend in September to relax on a lake. We had a wonderful time, and our experience exceeded our expectations. As we planned the trip, Monica responded quickly to our questions. She was up front about the high water levels on the lake which did not impact our stay at all. Touch-less check-in procedures were clear and easy. The house was clean, organized and well-stocked. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. Colander? Check! Plastic cups for kids? Check! Wine glasses for adults? Little plastic corn holders for corn on the cob? Check! The kitchen also had more than enough storage space and fridge room for our three night stay. The dining room table was large enough to fit all 8 of us comfortably. The two bedrooms on the main level were perfect for the adults. The older boys took the loft and our younger daughters took the twin beds in the basement. The beds were comfortable with enough blankets to make sure we stayed warm at night. The three seasons room was awesome. We used it for puzzles and games in the evenings after the kids went to bed. It was nice to have a space where we wouldn’t disturb them. The kids loved the basement — the foosball table was great. There was another table in the basement for cards, games, etc. While the damage caused by the high lake levels was heart breaking to see, it did not impact our enjoyment of the lake. We used the canoe, paddle boat and kayaks extensively. The kids also loved the swimming platform although by the end of September the water was too cold to really swim. The kids enjoyed fishing off the platform and the dock. We caught A LOT of fish—pan fish mostly. The lake water was crystal clear and quiet — we only saw a handful of kayakers and fishing boats on the water. Huron Lodge was perfect for the lazy, relaxing long weekend we wanted. Monica was a wonderful, attentive host, and we are grateful for the hospitality!

A wonderful experience
We rented both Huron Lodge and neighboring Sunrise Pines to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Both properties are great, but this review is specific to Huron Lodge. First, the owners (Monica and Dan) could not have been more thorough in outlining all the lodge has to offer, potential issues (i.e. high water levels), and anything else pertinent to your stay. I've stayed at quite a few VRBO properties, and it was the easiest to prepare for as the owners left nothing to the imagination. We were fortunate to have amazing weather all week so we thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the deck, in the water, and around the fire pit. If bad weather struck, the sunroom would have been an ideal spot. While the water levels were a bummer in terms of enjoying any "beach" time, my kids (ages 2, 6, 9, and 11) had no shortage of fun jumping off the dock, swimming out to the raft, and enjoying all the water toys (paddle boats, kayaks, and paddleboard). There was little to no traffic at all on the lake (it actually felt like we had it all to ourselves at times). Inside, the lodge was spotless and had everything we needed to enjoy meals inside and out. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out. Overall, it's an outstanding property and the owners could not be more welcoming.

An excellent week!
My family, friends and I shared a wonderful week at Huon Lodge. Monica and Dan were incredible hosts. The house was stocked with everything we needed and we had all the water toys at our disposal for fun filled week. I wished I had booked for two weeks as none of us were ready to go home. The beds were super comfortable, which is a huge deal for me. We all had plenty of if space to be together or find a space to be by ourselves. Monica and Dan truly thought if everything when stocking the house and property. You can show up with a suitcase and a bag of groceries and nothing more and you will thoroughly enjoy the time spent here. Best prepared property I have spent time at.

Memorial Weekend
Everything was great from start to finish. My wife and our two kids, ages 3 and 10 months, spent the long memorial weekend at Huron Lodge. Monica was great with accommodating a few special requests with having younger kids. The cottage itself has a lot of space and was great for the little ones. The wrap around deck is much bigger than it looks in pictures and also worked great for the kids. The lake is crystal clear and you can see fish swimming all over. The water was still a little on the cold side (which was expected) and high (Monica let us know ahead about this) so we didn’t use the water as much as we hoped. The high water was the only real bummer about our stay, which there is nothing you can about that. The beach is under about five or six feet of water and the lake was nearly up to about the woods line, so playing on the edge of the water was tough for us. So if you have kids under four or five, it may be a little harder to enjoy the water. We will definitely be back when our kids our older or when the water comes down a few feet. This place will be about as good as gets for lake swimming once the water comes down again. Overall though it was a great stay and great for our first official family of four vacation.

Wonderful relaxing weekend!
Huron is a PERFECT place for your family to relax and enjoy! There is so much space, lots of room for dining together, places to play games - clean and beautiful! Would LOVE to come back during the summer or fall to truly enjoy the outdoors there, too! Monica & Dan are terrific hosts, communicating promptly, and were wonderful to work with! We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner and even got to build a snowman! The garage is huge, and there is plenty of parking spaces for our big family reunion. The view is stunning of the lake. The whole experience was simply relaxing and wonderful! Thank you, thank you! :) Hope to be back again soon!

Perfect!!!
We had 8 guys participating in an annual golf weekend. The property delivered on everything it promised. Our sleeping accommodations were perfect, which can sometimes be a challenge with 8 guys. The location is beautiful with fantastic views of the lake. Monica and Dan were wonderful hosts and we wouldn't hesitate making their property a destination for future trips!.

Pleasant stay at Huron Lodge.
Marsha and Dan did a excellent job of having everything ready before arriving. The lake is about 4 feet higher this Spring do to all the moisture we had over the winter and spring this year. I mentioned that my family would really like to be able to take the boat and kayak out and sure enough the pier was up despite the extreme high water in the lake. Also they set up a portable fire pit to accommodate having a campfire. They do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible ! Thanks again for making our weekend special despite the rainy cool weather!

Thank you for the lovely review. Yes, the high lake levels have created some temporary challenges with docks and firepits. We appreciate the feedback that you were able to enjoy the our new fire pit. We know our guests love having an outdoor fire and we're happy we were able to find a solution to this temporary problem.

We just shared our Christmas with our family at the beautiful, comfy and cozy Huron Lodge. We had plenty of room for all of us to have our own space and the large dining table that seats 10. Enjoyed the little snowfall we had to make it really like Christmas. We used the provided sled and went down the hill to the frozen lake. Thank you for the welcome basket that was enjoyed by all. Enchanted Christmas 2018
We really enjoy our stay at the cabin. The cabin was just beautiful!!, very cozy and neat, with everything we need it. Wonderful Early Autumn Getaway
We stayed at Huron Lodge for a long weekend, 5 adults and a 12yr old. The house was beautiful, clean ('m pretty particular), and had a lovely view of the lake from all of the living areas. There's a large table for family meals & games along with 3 bedrooms (2 on the main level and and 1 downstairs), a large loft with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds downstairs in the game room area. There was a 3 seasons room with a huge table as well. Monica was extremely helpful in recommending spas and shopping nearby and always responded quickly with answers to any questions we had before and during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, crockery and silverware needed. The only caution I would give is to remember that anyone sleeping in the loft is pretty much right in the middle of whatever is happening in the living room. So early to bed people, or late risers shouldn't sleep up there unless they are deep sleepers. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful property
Our group was a little worried about this location as it was not the normal "tourist" destination. We were delightfully surprised. The lake is crystal clear and the home is comfortable with everything you need. We enjoyed the paddleboat and row boat especially being included with the cabin as it gave us a chance to get out on the water a bit. The beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Would definitely return.
