Overall my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay! The lady that checked us in was very nice and helpful with a issue that happened before we arrived! We would definitely stay again. Our only downfall was that the pancake machine wasn't working during breakfast and that just so happened to be the only thing my boyfriend wanted to eat that morning.

If i could give a negative review I would. We walked in and the place reeked of weed. I support cannabis both recreational and medical, but there's a time and place for everything. We asked for a local favorite restaurant recommendation for dinner. The receptionist acted like she couldn't be bothered. We ate dinner , then decided we would take our child down to the pool for a swim. We werent there for 10 minutes when a man comes in by himself. Sits all of his stuff down. Gets in the hot tub, with his cell phone, and it looks like he starts taking pictures of our kid. We immediately get out of the pool and i send my family to the room. I tell the receptionist about him. And she blows it off like its nothing, and says she'll make a report, and that he stays here often. Ill be speaking with management in the morning.

The room we had faced the Main Street, and there were lots of loud mufflers racing up the street. Very noisy until after 10:00

The staff at Holiday Inn Express, Princeton wete excellent. They erte kind, caring, and efficient. The hotel is very basic- you get wsat ypu pay for. The location is excellent with easy access from the interstate. My only complaint is the rooms are quite noisy. I could hear every word spoken in the room nextdoor and every footstep in the room above me. It was difficult to get to sleep and hard to stay asleep with noise from other rooms.

The room was so dark you couldn’t even read a book much less do anything else. It ended several more lamps. The bathroom was too bright. A nightlight would have been helpful in there.

Renovations and light not working…
Hotel was having significant renovations done upon arrival and this was not disclosed to us prior to our trip. We would have selected another hotel or requested a discount had this been shared. The light around the mirror in the bathroom wasn’t working making the bathroom very dark.

Comfort and clean.
The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had rails to assist, parking was convenient with easy access to our room. Breakfast was delicious too. Only one thing is there are only 3 coffee pods which we used the first evening with no housekeeping checking if refills needed, understanding maid service is only after the 2nd day.

I wasn’t aware of the renovations in progress. The hotel smelled like glue and chemicals. Printed signs when I arrived told me could cancel my stay but it was 1:00 in the morning. The refrigerator in the room was so noisy I had to turn it off to sleep, the bathtub did not have a nonslip Matt and was in need of refinishing, It was a disappointing stay.

Apparently this property hasn't had a hot tub in a long while but they continue to advertise it. Staff was incapable of keeping a basic breakfast stocked and acted like it was the guests fault that the coffee was continually empty without being replaced. Room was dated and in subpar condition. Will never stay here again.

Some innacuracies in booking: under construction
As of 12/2023, hotel is under construction. Pool is closed (disappointing to my kids) which wasn't mentioned at booking, were open paint cans in stairwell,and they also charge a $44 fee for pets (also wasn't listed during booking). Claimed to have a rollaway bed available for free use, but when asked for one was told is only for "suites." We had a very loud buzzing in hallway all night that could hear in room. Breakfast pretty good and areas where reno was complete were nice. Staff was nice, but couldn't do much to help. Disappointed that hotels.com doesn't have all current info on the hotel. Holiday inn claims they don't control "third party" Info, which I have a hard time believing they can enforce better accuracy. Probably won't stay again just bc not worth the risk, but might be a great place after reno.

Don't recommend this hotel
Terrible experience. Arrived to no one at the front desk to check in. As the lobby filled with a few more guests we called the phone number of the hotel only to listen to the phone ringing with no answer. Finally got help 10 plus minutes later. Lighting in hotel was bright white LED. Not warm and welcoming. Felt like being in a hospital. Used elevator..door wouldn't close..had to get help..definitely won't stay there again.

Honesty. This property was no where near prepared for guest. I have stayed in properties being renovated and been fine. This was unacceptable. Unsafe even. There was broken tile in halls. Elevator was not functioning properly. The smell of glue and wet paint was near toxic. Oh and you also chaged 144 a night in this condition?? I stayed because i was exhausted. I can assure you that i wont be back and I travel this path 10 times plus per year!! As an owner you should be ashamed.

Okay stay for short term
The hotel staff was pleasant. The hotel is currently being remodeled so amenities weren't available. Cleanliness is the main factor behind the rating, our tub appeared dirty (it could have been stained). Overall the stay wasn't terrible it was simply okay, otherwise I would have left.

Be aware there is construction going on to update the area by the lobby, but our room was clean, the breakfast was good, and the construction noise was over before bedtime. There was a note that we could cancel when we arrived if we had issue with it, but it was really fine.

The hotel is undergoing renovations. The updates will be nice when they're done. However, the room was not clean, especially the bathroom. The shower curtain was dirty, the tub had paint and black stains in it and was chipped. The toilet and counter had not been cleaned. I understand renovations but the cleanliness of the room has nothing to do with these updates. Definitely not our typical Holiday Inn experience.

I booked this hotel during a long travel with family. After 5h in the car the kids were really looking forward to going in the hot tub, which is advertised here. However when we arrived both the hot tub and pool were closed for renovation. If I knew of it by the time of the booking I would have chosen a different hotel.

The hotel was undergoing reservations. Pool and hot tub both closed. Shouldnt be charged full price if all amenities arent able to be utilized.

It was super disappointing that the pool was closed. It was the reason I chose this hotel because my daughter was really looking forward to going swimming. There was no advance notification that the pool was not open.

I'm sure this will be a nice property in the coming months but it is not quite there yet. The property is being renovated. New finished on bathtubs are peeling off. No towel racks in bathroom. First set of e-keys would not open our door. Night manager agreed to give us another room. When she tried to open the door to the other room discovered it was already occupied. Had to go to a second "other" room. Staff was nice and breakfast attendant was friendly. This is a pet friendly hotel and there were MANY dogs there. Not really a problem, though, as I only heard 3 barks from evening to the next morning. Just be aware. Parking lot could use some additional lighting.

Unfortunately, our stay was not good. Once we got to the hotel we found out the facility was being renovated which was not disclosed upon booking. The pool area was also being renovated which is why we booked with this hotel. There were no floors in the hallway and dust was covering the floors. We had only one towel in our bathroom. When needing towels, we were told it would be a while before they would bring them up. Overall not a good stay.

Only frustrating experience was the breakfast buffet. Available at 6:30am but a lot of the options were not available until 6:45 or so. Example…..grandsons wanted the pancakes but the batter was not out until 6:45. I wouldn’t normally complain but the buffet attendant was on her phone several times when she should have been filling in items.

I loved everything except the pool. It was frigid. I choose hotels with heated pools and get disappointed when they aren’t even the least bit warm. The hot tub was great!

This is an older Hi Express and it shows its age. Management is doing everything they can to keep it up and clean. They also are conducting an active refurbishment. We’ve stayed at a lot of HI’s and this one has the best breakfast buffet of any.
