A dated room with a wonderful view.
The best thing this hotel has to offer is the view and the size of the room. The services are very modest, for example only 4 channels available through air TV (no cable TV). If you are not in the ground floor, you'll need to carry your heavy luggage up or down a staircase; there are no lifts. The room needs urgent renovation. The sink at the bathroom has two faucets, which are useless if you need lukewarm water but can't mix cold water if the hot one is extremely hot (as it was). I ended up using the sink at the kitchenette for everything. I appreciate the wanderful view of the lake and the kindness of the owner.

Atención, ubicación, vista, buenos m2.
Muy bien en líneas generales. Muy buena atención, habitación muy cómoda, la vista que se prometía. Faltaría incorporar una pileta en el area de cocina. El único inconveniente fue que al levantarnos el segundo día, bien temprano para llegar a una excursión, nos encontramos con que no nos habían dejado toallas. Error atendible, pero que nos sorprendió. El resto, muy bien.

Older building, but large room with everything I needed. Great to have parking. Though during my stay there was road works right out front, so not always easy to turn into the driveway if on the wrong side of the road. 15 minute walk into town

It’s a very centric small hotel. Our rooms were very clean, and exceded all expectations. Honestly, after being away from home for several weeks staying here felt closely familiar to staying home.

The rubbish bin in our living room and bathroom didn’t get emptied every day. So basically you came back to your room with yesterday’s rubbish still sitting in the bin and you can still see the bread crumbs on the carpet from the breakfast as no one vacuum the room neither. Stayed there for 3 nights & will never choose this place again.

The property is a little old fashioned but rustic. The lady at the reception was very pleasant and helpful. One thing lacking was there was no closet in the room. We had a lake facing room and the view was marvelous. Our stay was very comfortable.

This property is a last resort for holidays ….we stayed in two other properties in Queenstown which were equally priced….they were wonderful, welcoming & accomodating. Emails were never returned by owners prior to our stay and although the website stated breakfast was included (a standard service in family accomodation in Queenstown for skiers), when we checked in we were told “not serving breakfasts coz can’t get staff”! Zero love given here in all areas. Considering what you CAN get for accomodation in Queenstown for same cost, I would not recommend at all. Plastic bathrooms, poor water pressure, nice view of lake on grim balcony. Sorry Earnslaw Lodge, you are 30 years behind what’s expected in 2023!

The lodge is family run and the staff are very friendly. The views are unparalleled. However the rooms are tired, and the bathrooms in particular depended on a "knack" to use them depending on what room you were in - in one there was no hot water except at a certain point (which wasn't indicated) and in another the spout needed to be turned up to the roof to turn it off. They were minor but there!

Sadly lacking love. Bathroom needs a complete refurb. Water coming out on floor, lots of little issues to be honest. We have stayed there a few times before and standards have slipped. On a positive note, amazing view and easily walkable to the main street. Could be a beautiful place if it had a little bit of love. Sorry x
