Cabin get a way is our therapy.
My best friend and I had 2 days of peace and quiet except for the birds. It was exactly what we were looking for. We so enjoyed our coffee on the porch. It was a short distance to the river and a very nice place to fish and/or picnic. We have never been treated as well at any other cabins. Fresh eggs and just picked spinach? Doesn't get any better. Inside the cabin was great. The a/c worked great, the water was hot and the bed was really comfortable. Would definitely recommend and already looking at the calendar to see when we can go back. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality.

Rustic Cozy Cabin
Overall a nice stay. Stan was around the property each day, and was most pleasant to talk with. He brought us a dozen fresh eggs, which we enjoyed immensely! The cabin had a nice view of his large garden and a windmill, but was quite a bit more rustic than we had anticipated. We had not seen a picture of the bathroom on the booking site, and it was very small. The overhead fan did not work. Thankfully we had brought a portable fan, which was necessary to clear the humidity from the bathroom. Water pressure was good. The place was generally clean, but the windows and blinds were not. (I cleaned the window and blinds above the kitchen sink so I could enjoy the space better, and the view outside. Unfortunately I was unable to do the window and blinds at the dining table.) Be aware that the bed sheets are 100% Polyester, which for us were uncomfortable with the humidity. (Wish I had brought our cotton sheets!) The bedroom closet had 6 hangers. A 2nd small night stand would be nice. Also instead of a bench, some shelves in the bedroom would be helpful for storing folded clothes. Laundry detergent was furnished upon request. The A/C worked well, and the ceiling fans in the living area & bedroom increased the comfort. One big hassle was the door key, which inserted fine, but took several minutes of jiggling every which way before it would come out! We did enjoy walking the property; the resident dogs were super friendly. And we enjoyed the close proximity to Glen Rose.

Wonderful property with the best hosts!
We had the best of times at this property! Cabin is cozy and comfortable, clean with a stocked refrigerator and cold AC. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the fire pit. River access is just a short walk away, and the cabin is situated very close to all the attractions the area has to offer, while still being nestled away far enough for peace and quiet. There are other cabins on this property, but they're spread out far enough that it still feels private. The hosts, Kay and Stan, are incredibly welcoming! We stayed during the eclipse and they brought over moon pies and welcomed us to watch the event with their friends and family. Truly they went above and beyond! Overall, highly recommend and would certainly book again!

Great little getaway!
Stan and Kay are very nice and we loved meeting their dogs and their sons dogs! A great place to stay. We enjoyed the campfire outside. Not too far from Granbury, TX.

relaxing stay
Even though we didn't get to see the dinosaur tracks because of heavy rains, we had a good time. We walked all around the property, saw all the animals there, visited with 2 friendly dogs, got to ride around the property with the owner on his kabota. We walked to Brazos river, but it just rained & was moving rapidly. We went into town & walked around. Shopped at antique stores, ate good food. Lots of firepits around! plenty of swings. Trampoline. It was a relaxing time. Would do it again!

Perfect getaway
We (myself and 2 friends) were attending an equestrian event in the area and were looking for lodging close by with a little character. And we found just that. The cabin we stayed in was perfect for the three of us. It was an easy check in process. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed for the weekend stay. We will definitely book it again.

Slice of heaven
If you are looking for a stay at a quiet country setting this is The place. The cabin is a charming and cozy cabin that feels very welcoming. The bed and sofa and eazy chair were the most comfortable ones I have ever used. The river was so beautiful and relaxing. The night sky will not disappoint either. Mornings were very tranquil and visits from neighboring wildlife we so neat. This was a great place to stay! The property manager was great and promptly took care of any questions we had. We are greatfull we got to stay here and Definitely will be back!

Perfect getaway!
My husband and our two dogs stayed here for 3 nights over the Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time! Close to Dinosaur Valley State Park (which was amazing!) and trail access to the Brazos which was fun to wade in and have rock skipping competitions! The cabin was clean and lovely! Fully stocked kitchen with full size fridge was a great plus! Kaye gives excellent instructions and offers lots suggestions for things to do in the area. Queen size bed was comfy! I’m picky with pillows and forgot to bring mine, but they’re weren’t terrible. Washer and dryer in unit a plus. TV and wifi a available, not the highest speed or best reception. But if that’s what you’re looking for, why even bother coming here! Disconnect and enjoy country living!!! We settled in with games and watched a couple DVDs they had in the cabin. Absolutely recommend it!

Peaceful getaway
The cabin was great!! A/C kept it nice and cool. Washer and dryer were great when coming in with wet clothes from the rivers. Location was very close to Glen Rose. Dinosaur Valley State park and more. The property is on the river. You drive thru the property a short distance then walk to the river. There was a hill to navigate down. It is a hot Texas summer so river was low, great for wading. Lots of minnows to keep you company. Owners were very friendly and informative. Overall, great getaway!

Nice small cabin out in the country. It had a firepit, some local dogs on property and fruit trees. Areas to hike, close to the river and lots to explore. Also a mule, chickens and donkeys. We had a lot of fun and got to relax away from the city. Would highly recommned

Nice cabin.. but
The cabin was very nice and clean and boy does that A/C work! But… from the pictures and map I kinda expected the water to be closer, and more secluded. I read each review very carefully and from those and the description, we expected to be able to swim and fish! You definitely can’t swim unless you walk a good ways down the river and where you can swim there’s nothing but snakes in the water! And you can fish but don’t expect to bring anything home! I can say that the shower in the cabin was wonderful! But… I didn’t drive 5 hours to take a shower! Also it says pet friendly… so we brought our small Boston terrier and as soon as we went to walk down to the water one of their dogs tried to attack ours! Ours was on a leash and theirs wasn’t. Which would have been fine if their dogs were friendly! All in all I just don’t think it’s worth it!

Perfect for our family!
We had a great time staying here and going to Dinosaur Valley State Park. This was the perfect place for our family of 4 with two 6 year olds. Very clean and all the supplies needed to make breakfast and grill burgers one evening. The fresh eggs was an excellent touch! They also provided firewood to have s'mores one evening. We also went home with clean clothes thanks to the small washer and dryer. The kids got to feed the mule and donkey and enjoyed having the freedom to play outside and explore. Excellent place and will be back one day!

Loved the location
My husband’s birthday was the best excuse to getaway for a few days & Hillside cabin was perfect! We loved the fresh morning eggs, and walking down to the Brazos to listen to the water trickle by. Had a great time chatting with Stan and meeting granddaughter Ily too. I enjoyed hiking up to the swings by the fire pit & listening to wind in the trees. Thank you!!!

Great Cabin for weekend relaxation

We enjoyed our quiet stay in this comfortable cabin. Although it was super hot & the river was low, we loved the peace of the area. With Glenrose nearby, there was never a lack of activities to partake; we especially love the dinosaur tracks & Fossil Rim Wilderness Sanctuary.

NICE FOR PRICE!
The listing from VRBO was inaccurate. The checkin time and a photo leads you to think there is a deck out back of the cabin but it was washed out. VRBO online, says no pets but when you arrive, the forms say pets allowed. The address on the gate post was not too visible. The cabin was very nice, quiet. Other than above stated, it’s a nice stay and quick to turn. Kay is a very nice lady.

Charming cabin in the woods
Quaint and cozy cabin get away. My husband and I enjoyed the fire pit and stargazing. Morning coffee on the front porch listening to the birds chirping and singing. Quiet and charming place to unwind and enjoy nature. Beautiful property with donkeys, chickens and goats. The owner gave us fresh eggs. We had such a wonderful time at this property and will definitely stay here again.

Cute little cabin in the woods! Enjoyed walking on the trails with the kids & fresh eggs brought to us from the hosts. Cabin is close enough to Glen Rose for explore the dinosaur state park and museum.
