Ocean Beach Haven
We had a wonderful stay at Dora’s property. The location was spectacular, so close to the beach and walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops on Newport Ave. The casita is extremely well-equipped and had everything we needed. The home was clean and comfortable, quiet and inviting. Dora was also exceptionally kind and accommodating. She allowed us an early check-in and a late check-out and was fully responsive throughout. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to others without hesitation. Thank you!!

Loved the O.B. Casita!
Being back in Ocean Beach after 20 years with our boys was wonderful. The location was incredible, and the beach was just a block away! The hosts were super responsive and made check-in and out easy. It was great to have a dedicated parking spot, shopping, incredible restaurants, and entertainment just footsteps away. We look forward to returning to O.B. again and staying at the Casita in the future!

Great spot in Ocean Beach
This little place was big on charm and amenities. The location is just a few blocks from Ocean Beach and the pier there. It’s very private considering it’s a carriage house in the backyard of another house. The parking space was great because parking in the area is tricky. It was close to the big attractions (10 mins to SeaWorld and 20mins to SD Zoo and Balboa park) It was clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay including boogie boards and other beach toys as well as everything we needed for the kitchen etc. It was perfect for our short stay with our family of four.

Cozy and great location
This was an extra cozy space. It worked well for our family (we have two young kids that loved being able to sleep on the bunk beds). We didn't spend much time at the Casita, as we were off doing ocean adventures. It may have been a little too small for a group of adults to stay if you planned on spending any amount of time at "home base" during your stay. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, it seemed, but there isn't much space to be able to cook. However, the Casita is in such a great location for walking to fabulous restaurants and grocery store. We were also able to walk just up the street to see the sunset over the ocean and do a morning tide pool walk to the beach. This was a fabulous home base for the few days we spent in San Diego.

Awesome stay, host and location
We are very happy with our experience. Dora was very responsive and helpful. Checkin and checkout was easy and flexible. Lots of towels, boogie boards, beach chairs and sand toys to use. Washer and dryer was very convenient. Two minute walk to a great little beach and 5 to 10 minute walk to restaurants, shops, groceries, main beach and pier. Very helpful to have a dedicated parking spot. Definitely hope to stay there again.

Location was perfect! coffee in am at sunset cliffs was amazing beautiful All beach toys chairs umbrellas provided Love a the necessities provided in the home Smaller car better for parking in driveway Was nice to be able to park without driving around looking for parking spots. Small, quiet casita. Not very loud location. It is .5 block from the beach but its not a relax beach. Pretty much just to look at, its all rocks and water no beach . You have to walk at least 10 mimutes to the shops and actually beach .

Perfect San Diego beach locale
Felt like i was in the center of everything we wanted to see and do in San Diego. Great for a small family. Exceptionally clean. Great communication with host. They were gracious in supplying everything they expected their renters to need, which was so so helpful! In the good-to-know category: this isn't the spot for you if you want to sleep late, rely on wifi, or have a large vehicle.

Casita Rico is a very reasonably priced property near the beach, restaurants and stores. We had absolutely no issues with the location or property. It was quiet and sitting out on the little deck in the morning and evenings was something that I enjoyed. The only things we would have changed is to add a door mat and getting bigger coffee cups! I loved having the washer and dryer right there so that I could do some washing before we had to catch our flight home. The neighborhood itself is easy to walk with lots of options. There are great cocktails to try at Raglan's just down the block. If a day of pampering is in order - Therapie Day Spa is also a short walking trip away. We were there during the street fair/chili cook-off. That was a day well spent with tasting and voting on the chili cook-off entrants, listening to the bands and browsing the merchant tents.

Perfect!
We were very pleased with this place and with the host - Dora. She was readily available to answer questions. The location was perfect, about a block from the water and a few blocks from all kinds of restaurants. There was off street parking although we didn’t use it, we used Lyft to get around. The place itself was just enough, two bedrooms with comfortable beds, eating area, kitchen and bathroom. I would definitely recommend this casita if you are wanting to be in the Ocean Beach area.

Great get away!
The property at Ocean Beach was clean, well stocked with all that we needed and the host was very responsive and helpful. The location was perfect for enjoying much of the sights and activities that San Diego offers. We enjoyed being able to walk to Ocean Beach and restaurants nearby. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and the casita was the perfect set up and size for our family of 3!

Perfect Location!
We absolutely LOVED the location of this property! It's just a 1/2 block walk to explore the Ocean Beach tide pools, and a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. It's far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it's quiet and feels residential, yet anything you need is easily walkable by young and old alike. Our host Dora was a wonderful communicator and helpful. The casita is supplied with a the basics and more. We had a great week here and highly recommend!

Property is accurately described and well stocked. Host was helpful and prompt answering any questions we had. The weather was really cold for southern CA during our stay but the space heater helped. Location is great for walking to downtown OB.

Hidden gem, perfect for our vacation
I can't say enough good things about this place. Easy to check in, owner was responsive and helpful. Plenty of beach stuff and towels. Beds were comfortable and the whole place was roomy and cute. Me, my husband, our adult son and our 10 year old son stayed here with plenty of room. Super close to the beach and the OB farmers market (on Wednesday). The porch is cute and comfortable. We spent most of our time there on the porch, enjoying the quiet neighborhood. We will absolutely stay here again. Thank you Dora :)

Home away from home
I loved staying at this sweet, convenient casita. I was on my own but there is room for a couple plus a child, or even three friends. The private outdoor space is perfect for drinks and a yoga mat, or to take your laptop out to work. You're just a block from the dramatic Pacific cliffs and gorgeous sunsets and a staircase to a small sand beach at low tide. No need to drive into OB for dinner - it's an easy walk to all the restaurants. The casita has its own parking space, wi-fi, washer/dryer. It really felt like a home away from home.

Great for our stay!
A friend and I enjoyed a week of laid back vacationing. Sunshine and lots of walking was what we needed. Enjoyed south side of OB, near cliffs and sandy beach! Hosts responsive, and allowed us complete peace ( I assume host lives in main house). We were happy to be left to our own.

Dont judge a book by its cover
This casita is definitely an OB gem! Walk out your door and the adventure begins. The water and beautiful cliffs are steps away and with just a brisk walk you are in the heart of OB--Newport Ave. Bars, restaurants, shops, such fun. The place itself is so cute and has everything you can possibly need. If you cant find it, keep looking because its there!! 2 bedrooms with such comfy beds..three of them!! Well stocked for our convenience with shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, hair dryer, sunscreen, bug spray, beach chairs, washer, dryer, you name it. Such wonderful people as well. We had our kids over ( who live in OB ) and they wanted to play cards. Couldn't find any. Sent over a text and here come the cards! THANK YOU :) Didn't realize how special is was to have our own parking spot till we arrived. another THANK YOU :) Saved tons of money by eating at Chris's deli...outstanding! make sure you go!! Again, thank you for making our visit so wonderful and homey!! See you again soon.

Adorable home. Great location. Excellent communication with owner.
We had such a great time staying here! The house is adorable and had everything we could need. The location is perfect: a quiet neighborhood a very short walk to a somewhat secluded beach with great tide pools. The main Ocean Beach attractions are walkable distance away. Ocean Beach Casita
The stay was great and the casita just perfect for what we wanted. Just note that the gravel driveway where you would park is quite narrow and the shower needs some none slip strips on the floor and/or a grab bar. Otherwise the casita was clean and well stocked with anything you may need. The property manager communicated well, responded quickly and we were able to check in early. Would stay there again. Hi Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to review OB Casita. Your right the parking space is narrow so you have to be careful but have had guests with Pickups and SUV's. We're grateful we are able to provide a space since street parking in a beach community can be challenging. You're the first person that has mentioned the shower being slippery, we will look into that. Also thanks for mentioning the communication, it is managed by me the owner. What an amazing stay ! Great communication from Dora, easy check in, and she even let us check in early since it was available! I only got to stay here 2 of the 5 nights I was in San Diego and all I can say is I will be back ! Do yourself a favor and book this property!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on the Casita. You are right the Casita is better suited for 5 rather than 6. I"ve been working on changing that through VRBO because the default is 4 or 6. Where I do have the ability to comment is on the description where it states it is for 5 and on the beds available. Again Thank you for your comment and I will continue to try to change that.

Great weekend stay for the family
My family and I wanted to stay somewhere walking distance from the beach and this casita was perfect. We didn’t use our car at all during our stay since everything was so close. The casita was the perfect size for our family (2 adults, 2 young kids) and we had everything we needed and more! Dora was super responsive with communication and check-in was super smooth. Next time we’re in Ocean Beach, we would definitely stay here again!

So cute
This little place was perfect. Super close to beach, food and shopping. There is a cool cove spot. I would not recommend it if you have kids in strollers but other than that yes check it out. Lots of stairs.The house was just as pictured. The host text to see if we needed anything. Super place to stay. The beds are comfortable. They supply everything including shampoo conditioner . will stay again

Ocean Beach San Diego
Location was close to ocean and Ocean Beach amenities, the Farmer's Market was great, restaurants and eclectic mix of people but fairly distant from other attractions. The property was as listed and the owner provided a portable heater to warm rooms in use. The property was easy to access with potential for parking and quick service from Lyft and Urber drivers. Would certainly consider it again for spending time at the beach.

Loved our stay!
This property is exactly as described. We found the home to be clean and just what we needed. Dora was always prompt in responding through the booking process and while we were there as well. We traveled with our two young boys (aged 3 and 5) and the set up was ideal for us. We loved being able to walk to the beach or to breakfast and dinner each day. Also love that the zoo and other attractions were just a short drive away. Will definitely return!

Loved “our” little Casita in OB
Very well appointed, roomy, comfy and cozy Casita for 2 adults and nine yr old. Nearby local stores/grocery (bring canvas bags), restaurants, OB Pier and beach. We even had a lovely Thanksgiving Day at the Casita and were able to prepare a full turkey day feast! Awesome. Spent the most relaxing, fun and enjoyable 8 day (even with 4days of rain)family vacation, can’t wait to come back during baseball season! Dora and Matias were gracious and accommodating hosts. We easily used Lyft to navigate around San Diego. Above and beyond all our expectations. Thank you Dora and Matias!!

Clean, convenient little cottage
Overall very happy with this rental and owner. It is a small cottage in the backyard of another home (well separated), surrounded by two-story apartments. You enter from a back alley (into a very tight parking spot, but at least it's dedicated just for you ... if you can handle the turn-in). The modest cottage is clean and well furnished (other than no dishwasher -- but washer-dryer was nice). No problems with any plumbing or appliances. Very comfortable for four people (couple and two kids) but wouldn't advise any more than that. In short, exactly as advertised.
