El hotel es muy bueno, limpio, cómodo, amplio. Tiene un roof super bueno. Pero en la calle del hotel está lleno de refugios para indigentes, entonces huele bastante mal, se drogan en la calle, hay gente bastante rara a todas horas que te hace sentir inseguro.

This hotel was lovely! I loved the beautiful room, and it was great having a steamer instead of an iron. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Perfect hotel for this particular stay. I was in for one night to catch a show at The Warfield. The hotel is literally a few steps away from the market avenue entrance. I am a solo female traveler and did not have any concerns about safety. It is a matter of being aware of your surroundings, walking with purpose and not making yourself look like a mark. Back to the hotel...The check-in process was very smooth and very efficient. All the employees I encountered, especially the one who checked me was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and feels modern. I had my car valet-parked which is pricey, but actually par for the course for hotels near Union Square. Valet parking is at the rear of the hotel on Turk (a quiet street) and has posted clear instructions to leave your car parked and locked. At front desk I handed over my car key for the valet to park. Seems like a small thing, but i always hate when valet is super busy and feeling rushed in getting my stuff out. Unfortunately didn't have time to check out the rooftop bar. Maybe next time. This is definitely on my list of hotels to consider when I need to stay in that part of San Francisco. Cannot recommend this hotel enough! PS. Modena Pizza is about two blocks away, open late, and was a great post-show place to grab a slice to eat back at the hotel.

Booked the corner studio room. View sucked. Really only booked it for that and the dilapidated building next to us with hoarders and broken screens was all we could see from the 6th floor. Blackout shades were nice but for $400 per night, they should have been controlled by a remote. Tub was large and nice. Set the temp to the lowest setting and was still hot at night. Not worth the money. Stay at a nice hotel in a different area if you’re going to pay the money. Or stay in one of their less expensive rooms. It felt like valet was the only option and was expensive. Don’t get a car if you’re staying here.

Great hotel but did not realize ahead of time where it was located. I enjoy walking around cities I visit but unfortunately I had to Uber from the hotel to other parts of the city because I did not feel safe walking near the hotel.

The property straight up sucked. The building is nice but it’s in the Tenderloin. That should tell you everything you need to know. From the moment we pulled up to valet no one greeted us for over 10 minutes. And when we called the hotel to get service, they asked us why and what were we doing there? The hosts at the front desk need a crash course in customer service. We didn’t get the room we asked for, and were charged more for the room we did stay in. When asked why, the host could not explain and had no other information on why our booking wasn’t correct. The staff in the restaurant up stairs were rude and pretentious. When we checked out a whole day early because we didn’t want to stay the host didn’t even ask why we were leaving and if there was anything else that could be done. Overall, the service was poor with no want to make anything better for the customer.

I love that this is a new hotel, and trying to bring new life into the area, but the transients were extremely loud, could hear them screaming at eachother all night. In addition, we were charged a not previously disclosed, mandatory amenity fee of 35 dollars. When I called to ask they said it was for the coffee machine in the room and the free water. If they were free, why was I charged? Will not ever stay here again.

The place is great, staff is excellent except restaurant staff which was not particularly friendly. The area around the hotel isn’t great, it’s a shame, but the hotel is wonderful.

Everything was really great! Easy smooth and convenient. In room dining for brwakfast made things easy. Also options to add on early check in and out made it comfortable and accomodating. Check in took 3 minutes and i could walk everywhere. Really appreciated the friendliness of staff. Food options could have been better. I k ow its hard to have dining options but would have been nice. Also updated and very clean. Super comfy bed and great view!

I had a great stay at the hotel. The brunch in the solarium was a highlight. Unfortunately, someone attempted to rob me in the common area (and succeeded in robbing someone else). Thankfully I’m a psych nurse trained in deescalation. Otherwise, great stay!

The front desk person (King) refused to let us check in. He made us call Expedia to confirm the reservation, despite us showing him confirmation of the booking. We waited over an hour in the lobby even after Expedia confirmed we had made the reservation.

Kind of disappointed in that the fact that fees, + taxes + parking for two nights added 78% to the total. Also, $68 per night to park a car seems high considering there was no self-park option. That could have been told up front when the reservation was made. While the interior of the hotel and the room was nice overall, a pretty pricey two night stay considering the surroundings.

Staff was excellent and location was in an area surrounded by dining and shopping opportunities within walking distance which was great. The property itself was really nice and the room was really clean. The only downside was the area surrounding the property. Lot of homelessness. Even my Uber driver said when dropping me off it's best not to walk around the area late at night. Still, this issue is not unique to The Line and is more of a citywide issue unfortunately. That being said, I would still consider staying again in a future visit!

Hi Collins - Thank you for your feedback. With our hotel being in the heart of San Francisco, the ever-growing homeless population does pose as a challenge. However, the safety of all our guests is our highest priority. We do have security on site 24/7. We also prioritize the service that we provide our guests, so that they may be as comfortable as possible. We hope to see a familiar face again next time you're in San Francisco!

Disgusting hotel the room had stains everywhere I checked out I didn’t even stay it was so bad the front desk person was so rude
