Not too bad
Took a while to get checked in due to the person not being in the office when we got there, they had to be found by another employee. Bed was rather hard but better than sleeping in the truck. Otherwise was a nice place to stay.

Unless you really need to save 20 bucks —-
Super nice host but… room was a bit well - let’s just say floor was filthy. Grounds run down. Safe enough, secure enough but wish I had spent alittle more to feel less grungy. Tried to save money. Next time probably won’t.

Cockroaches and panties
This motel was a second option because there was an error in my previous motel. I checked in, walked into the room and saw around 3-4 cockroaches scurry across the floor. I promptly killed them, and didn’t walk around without shoes on again. No bedbugs which was good, but there was wadded up toilet paper and a pair of womens panties stuffed under the bed. As well as a used bar of soap in the shower. The bed was comfortable enough for one night. But the cleanliness was really a problem.

The property was okay. Nothing particularly great about the property, but also not the worst hotel we have stayed at. The walls were extremely thin and we could actually hear the people on the other end of the phone that our neighbor was talking to. Bathroom was a little dingy and the lighting was harsh. We stopped here because most other hotels/motels were sold out. I would probably try another place and see if we had better luck next time. But while we wouldn't recommend this property, I wouldn't begrudge anyone who decided to stay here.

I love staying here when I'm in Santa Maria. They are always so friendly and courteous, even on short notice. The rooms are nice and big and very clean. You don't have to worry about paying extra for a microwave or refrigerator they are automatically included. The management makes sure all your needs are met.

Dirty room, noisy street,never again
When I entered the room I felt gravelly sand/dirt under my feet/shoes. I realized there was a layer of dirt on hard floor, bathroom area had footprint stains and furniture/lamps had thick layer of dust. I immediately requested front desk to sweep out the room. She spent 5-10 min barely sweeping/mopping. It would’ve taken 1/2 hr to an hr to clean that room. Ugh! Needless to say I didn’t sleep and woke early and left. Would’ve felt better sleeping in my car.😠

The gentleman that checked me in was pleasant and checkin was quick. They have a little area where I could use my portable gas grill. A really nice “old school “ kind of hotel.

I think they rent rooms by the week or by the month, Many families that know each other in random rooms They spend all evening and part of the night yelling and use drugs and profanity in the parking lot Also someone was doing erepairs on the room above me until 11:45pm which did not let me sleep Very noisy place

Thanks for taking time to review our motel. Sorry to say that we don’t give weekly or monthly rooms so we rent as a daily. I have some group reservations also but we take care of everything if anybody yelling or fighting not drugs also I just warned him inspite Of not listening I just kick him out. and we donot repairs at night time. So sorry about you didn’t get sleep so next time we take care of you. So I hope to see you again.

They booked us in a room that was under repair!!! Then charged us $80.00 for the room!!!!

I am sorry inconvenience and my desk clerk didn't know that the room was under construction and my desk clerk charged you $80 with the city tax and the service tax and we Expedia system cannot calculate the service tax because of the policy but we mention that in buckboard motel page on hotels.com. hope I see you again. Cheap - you get what you pay for
This is a cheap hotel and I knew it, that is why my marks are anything above "Terrible". It has everything one may need to spend a night out of the elements, but I believe the reason the rates are so low is because they skip on maintenance. Broken window screens, hole in the wall, scuffed furniture, old carpet. The bed was clean, but if you have any respiratory issues, you may have problems in a room that was probably used by smokers in the past.
