Based on your feedback we saw that you rated your Intent to Recommend an “8” and that is very much appreciated. However, we also noticed that there were several missed opportunities. Our rates are comparable to similar hotels in our neighborhood, as we feel we provide some of the best value because of our prime location and personal service standards. We’re sorry that this was not your impression this time around. WIFI is free for Bonvoy members, and to sign up to become a Bonvoy member is completely free as well! During your stay, we were under Red Tide. According to Visitflorida.org, “A red tide is a higher-than-normal concentration of a microscopic alga. In Florida, the species that causes most red tides is Karenia brevis (K. brevis). This organism produces a toxin that can affect the central nervous system of fish. At high concentrations (called a bloom), the organisms may discolor the water a red or brown hue. The water can even remain its normal color during a bloom.” Red Tides have affected our waters for about 180 years. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. This is a fight with Mother Nature and there is no control or prediction on when it will be out of our waters. Please accept our apology for not meeting all your expectations during your stay. I do hope your travels bring you back to the beautiful and tranquil Island of Sand Key and give the Sheraton Sand Key Resort another chance to better serve your needs.

Thank you for your feedback. Maintaining a clean atmosphere within our guest rooms and common areas is always a key priority, especially during these unprecedented times. We're very sorry to hear that the hotel wasn't up to your expectations. Due to COVID-19, for the safety of our guests, we have implemented new hotel guidelines which are communicated during the check-in process by the front desk agent and with a letter explaining the new safety procedures. They are also posted on our website and on your reservation confirmation. In compliance with cleanliness guidelines, we've had to make some changes regarding housekeeping services for the safety of our employees and guests as well. At this time, we are only cleaning the rooms every 3rd day per Marriott COVID-19 cleanliness guidelines.

We thank all guests for alerting us about the situation right away, please know that the safety and security of our guests is our first priority and that starts in the guest’s room. Unfortunately, no matter how clean we are or the fact that we mandate an aggressive pest control policy regularly. Living in Florida means tolerating heat, humidity and cockroaches and when you live here you might often see one. I am happy to hear that you received the professional and efficient customer service that our associates are known to give and you were moved to a room that was more suitable and you were still able to enjoy your stay with us.
