El aire acondicionado tenia salidero de agua por lo que gran parte de la habitacion estaba en aguas, solo habia una toalla grande, una mediana y una de manos para 4 personas. Llegamos pasadas las 9pm y Como no tienen servicio de recepcion las 24horas tuvimos que esperar la otro dia para reclamar y la atencion fue muy buena.

Palmetto bug in the kitchen, no ventilation in the bathrooms and drain was clogged. Beach is gorgeous and the pool is delicious. It’s a great property if taken care of.

View from room was fantastic. Direct access to the beach was great! We found it odd that check in was not until 4pm and yet the office closed at 4pm. I would recommend that hours be adjusted in order to greet guests upon check in. A window was left open in our room and resulted in the bed and coverings being damp/wet. We were able to dry it out before use. Property/room was quite dated and needs a refresh and a deep, detailed cleaning. Comfortable enough for our one night stay.

What a hidden gem! I read all the varying reviews of this property, and I have to say we have had the best stay here. Ignore the nasty negative reviews. The property is a bit older, but we have no complaints at all. The owner was awesome; we were surprised with up-graded accommodations. Our room was super clean, extremely comfortable and the best part...just a few steps from the beautiful beach and ocean. The property has lovely outside seating (rocking chairs for our morning coffee was our favorite) and bbq's for guests' use. Bottom line, we would absolutely come back again.

Close to all restaurants and beach. Had a tiny bathroom but was clean with low water pressure. I’d stay here again but max occupancy is 2 people.

Beautiful beach. Lovely pool. Outside of buildings were showing wear. Inside our room some problems with window coverings broken, one of the ceiling lights had cover off and one wall plate was not on. Overall, great value for the money. Excellent access to the beach.

Property a lot more run down than shown in the photos. Parking difficult in that if you park in one of the few spaces in front you must back out onto a busy street. Other alternative across the street means you are running across a busy street. On the plus side it’s right on a lovely beach.

Location is amazing right on the beach. Some of the rooms are not very nice. The tile on my floor was broken and parts of the hotel need to be renovated. Front desk staff was very nice.

I was sadly disappointed in this “hotel”. I was late getting to the property due to my flight and there was no one the office to check me in. Instead I found an envelope with my name on it with the instructions of how to get in. Once in, the decor was early American thrift store. The mattress was old and the one in the room was unsteady and pretty unusable. The bathroom sink did not drain. There was a shared balcony with the rest of the second floor with an outside light that could not be turned off. The front side of the room had a bank of windows with wooden shutters (with one that needs repair) that did a very poor job of cutting down the light from the street. The bed mattress was old with broken down support and the bottom sheet was just a mattress pad. Only one sheet for cover with no duvet or blanket. I was finally able to get to sleep at 3am once the traffic noise died down and I could finally pass out from exhaustion. I left first thing the next morning to find a real place to stay. I asked for a refund for the two nights that I prepaid. No reply or apology from the management after I canceled and explained why. This place is a dump and should be shut down.

The property is an old hotel. A kids pool was filled with sand! I think they are just waiting for the right price to sell and have taken to just do the minimum to maintain. However, it is right on the beach and well below condo prices.

We appreciate your comments. The hot tub was destroyed in the last hurricane. We are not waiting to sell...we are the the owners who will put a new hotel in this location. We offer a heated pool so we felt that replacing this older hot tub was not necessary. Chuck

This place is due to be demolished in the Fall and you can tell! It is literally falling down around us. We had 2 rooms there clean “enough”. If for 1 minute I thought I could have found another place quickly I would have ran not walked away. Expedia sold this as some thing it absolutely was not! Shame on you for not doing the due diligence on this property! Unfortunately the clientele at this dive were also bamboozled as we were but they were decent.

And yet you stayed 3 days.... There were other hotels that had rooms in the area at twice the price. You came during spring break and you stayed at a clean beachfront property. I would have been happy to send you to our new Cambria around the corner from us with a rooftop pool and spa and restaurants and valet parking and you would have been paid much more and not have been steps from the sand. Several things needed to be addressed. The door handle was practically falling off and you had to pull in on the door handle just right to get the door to open. The sliding door needed to have the track cleaned and sprayed with some WD 40 so it would slide open and closed better. The smoke alarm started to beep needing the battery replaced. The room was advertised with a pull out couch which it had but the mattress to the pull out was so old you couldn’t sleep on it. No blanket for it either. The entire couch needs to be tossed out. One of the cushions had a broken zipper so it was open. The love seat also had a cushion the was torn. Both pieces of furniture needs to just be tossed. The table lamp in the living room area was broken. The bedding was very old needs to be tossed. Bedskirt had mold on it. In the kitchen the shelf that the microwave was on needs to be replaced. The bathroom vanity was very old needs to be replaced. And don’t put the coffee, creamer and cups inside the darn ice bucket unless you leave a note so we know where the heck it is. You may not find it if you don’t get ice!!! As for the grounds there were broken flower pots that needed to be tossed in the garbage. The area that was used for the hot tub needs to be cleaned up and gotten rid of. Each room should be supplied a broom and dust pan. So the entire room needs major updating but It was very nice to be right on the beach. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone because it is so in need of m.

I literally cannot list everything wrong with this property but to name a few problems, poor water pressure, warped and water damaged doors and trim,missing and burned out light bulbs, holes in bathroom door, old , and severely worn towels, no coffee pot, no microwave,one Chanel on tv, no chairs no light covers on lighted fans, fan blades filthy…… proprietor said they are tearing property down in September which would account for the very poor maintenance,or lack of maintenance. ONE good thing…on the beach.

I liked that it was directly in front of the beach. I didn’t like the odour in the room, the bubbling of paint on walls and the dirty windows and walls. I had me feeling very unclean. It’s old and dated. But if you’re looking for a place to crash, it’s for you. But not for us.

We have been staying at the Schooner Hotel for 2 decades, very sad to see the poor condition of the property. I heard they are planning to tear it down soon and obviously are no longer maintaining it much. The wood is rotted, the metal is corroded and rusted around the outside, the walls in our room were literally rotted at the bottom from water damage, mold on the ceiling...too much to even list. It was definitely our last stay! Lots of wonderful memories there. Super sad!!!
