I would not stay at property again reason being, i paid for a executive room but, although was newly built the bathroom floor was black , the taps leaked when the shower was on, there were ants in the bedroom and on the bed , spiders in the bathroom and was definitely not a king size bed but two singles put togeather. And the noise from next door may as well of been in our room .

The room was hot and couldn’t be controlled although staff showed concern. The net curtains were ragged and well past their best. Wallpaper peeling. Only 3 pillows. The window cills were badly needing attention. I was afraid to try the spa bath as the controls didn’t look safe. But the price was very fair and staff were friendly One of the benches in the garden was missing a leg and my friend nearly fell off

Staff were really lovely but dinner was not what was expected, well below. Breakfast was poor at the best. Sausages were solid and hard and everything else was the same. Sorry for the poor comment but that's what we felt

How NOT to treat your guests.
I have stayed at this hotel previously. My stay this time was nothing like last time. Chalk and cheese! The place is undergoing works , there was no heating and no hot water. I was told by reception it would be on 'in an hour'. An hours passed and no news. As it was 5pm I had been prepared to wait. 6.30 arrived and still no hot water. At reception the young woman with poor english was left to hold the fort! Needless to say another time estimated to be 11pm was given. The following morning still no hot water. No management to tackle just the breakfast staff. Very, very poor. The only good thing an electric heater had been switch on i. My room prior to my arrival.

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologise your stay hasn't met the standards expected. Our receptionist had contacted the relevant people to resolve the heating and hot water issue including our manager who was behind the scenes trying to assist in the resolution of this issue. Please allow us to apologise again for this and give us another chance in the future staying in one of the newly renovated rooms.

Awful
Hotel looked derelict when arrived. Went into be told renovating (nothing on any website to say this when we booked, no one called after booking to say they would be renovating. Your website now says should be finished by 21st) Nowhere near finished. Bar was closed and told we couldn’t book into the restaurant as the chef had taken the night off!?!?! Told no management would be on site till 2.30pm, he basically wasn’t interested and told me another manager would be available to speak with me before breakfast, only to be told they again wouldn’t be in again till 2.30. Cobweb’s around the legs of the dining table and underneath the seats. Footprints on the seats. Rooms were clean but heating on full blast to the point of making people feel sick and unable to sleep, no means of turning it down, told this was another issue that was being looked into. Whole place looked like a building site!! Offered £32 compensation for a party of 6!!!

When we we arrived we were given upstairs room. Due to health issues no good. We booked paid for Delux / Superior room because of extra big bed as other half 6ft 7 and extra leg room required. We were given a different room not a problem apart from small bed.Room 10. One of us has not had much sleep because other could not get comfortable due to feet hanging off bed!!!. Very short staffed. Getting served at bar was not a easy task lol. ON the plus side The housekeeping staff afe amazing went above and beyond. Room spotless and becaue it had been set up for 1 person they were very quick to supply extra towels tea coffee milk. The young girl Gemma who hosted breakfast was very professional nothing was to much trouble made sure everyone was happy with there breakfast and had received everything they required. We shall be back again next year hopefully in right room. Regards Sharon milligan

A friendly stopover
All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We had opted for a cheaper room so didn’t have double glazed windows and a few extra comforts. The hotel is a short walk to an excellent pub for dinner. Breakfast was exactly what we asked for and was very tasty. On the whole we were pleased with this accommodation.

Receptionist did not speak much English, but checked in okay. Every floor has heating on full blast. Stayed Oct-Nov and was sweating sleeping over the covers. Lots of dust and cobwebs in the room and towels were stained. Probably won’t stay again unless desperate. But rooms are very cheap. I imagine staying in the main building and not the outside buildings would be more pleasant and would certainly say that’s where the pictures are taken from.

Squadron Reunion
An excellent, well equipped room at a reasonable price. The serving staff were friendly and helpful but a bit overwhelmed at the formal dinner - they needed more pre-briefing about the menu options. The food was wholesome but a bit unsubtle. Overall a pleasant stay and good value for money.

It wouldn’t take much to spruce up this hotel, it’s in a lovely part of the country and has such potential…. Our room was ok but did have a stale musty smell, It was just a 1 night stop over for us on our way back from Cornwall. It definitely needs some love and attention, and then it could be amazing

Very helpful, friendly staff. Nice room. Doing a good job as they have just re-opened. Only let down was that there was only one room that was wheelchair accessible, which was already taken (by someone not in a wheelchair, because the person insisted). Did say more wheelchair accessible rooms were being included in future refurbishment.

Homely and peaceful
Homely and peaceful stay, clean and comfortable. Gillian, the breakfast manager, was excellent: unforgettably friendly and helpful. The receptionists were pleasant, too, but new, and as yet unable to understand how to book our breakfasts without eventual managerial assistance.

Great stay
Had a great stay. Room was fantastic value for money. I've stayed in much smaller rooms that charged a lot more. The bed was very comfortable, everything worked as it should. Other guests were a little noisy but that's not the hotels fault. Didn't try breakfast. Disappointing the restaurant isn't open for evening meals yet despite receiving an email on booking advising to contact reception to book. The website does state the restaurant is not open. Overall, a lovely night stay. Will definitely book again when we need to be in the area.
