Very rustic and secluded - Roughing it with Goats
The directions to the farm could have been clearer but the way was hampered because of tornadoes having hit the area just the week before. I would have liked hearing from the owner the day of the storm when she knew of the downed trees and power lines and huge ruts in the driveway that would cause some vehicles much difficulty getting through, mine included.
The farm was rustic and shabby. The access to the cottage was a challenge in several ways. I was concerned if I was going to encounter poison ivy on the path to the front door and the several places where the ground and steps were uneven. The picture provided didn’t match the reality once we got into the cottage. There was a latch on the outside of the heavy door as well as inside. My wife was afraid that someone could lock us in the cabin from the outside and we would be trapped, since there were no windows or emergency egress options for us.
The bathroom had two steps from the main floor of the cottage and I don’t remember seeing anything in the description telling me of the stairs. I hate stairs, especially inside my bedroom to get to the bathroom.
The kitchen area was nice but the electric hot plate in the picture was replaced with an electric fry pan. The French press coffee maker would have been nicer if there were instructions for people like us who don’t use one on a regular basis and didn’t want to have to resort to YouTube videos on how to use it.
The bed was the one redeeming feature of the cottage.
