The parking area is very small, is not easy put the car in the parking area.

Thank you for the feedback ...We are glad you enjoyed your stay ... yes, the parking is for 7 cars only mostly for rental car types ... during local holiday more cars are parked and longer trucks which can be difficult to manuever ... thank you

Mal servicio, habitación en malas condiciones
La habitación tenía muy mal olor al momento de recibirla ! Problema de drenajes ! No nos quisieron cambiar la habitación y aunque le hicieron lavado de drenajes el olor siempre se percibía al momento de usar el baño! No nos cambiaron toallas al día siguiente y la cama en muy mal estado ! Se escuchaba todo el ruido de las habitaciones de a la par ! Lo único rescatable es el area local, muy cerca de la playa de del centro ! No me parece que tenga calificación para nada dé Boutique Hotel

Gracias por su comentario, efectivamente se le limpiaron los drenajes por su requerimiento y no nos volvieron a mencionar ningún problema; nos sorprendimos ya que el mismo día salieron huéspedes de esa habitación y no nos mencionaron ningún problema al respecto. Con mucho gusto los hubiéramos movido de cuarto pero era semana santa y no teníamos disponibilidad. Por otro lado como eco amigable boutique hotel nosotros cambiamos las toallas cuando las encontramos en el piso como lo indica los avisos en el cuarto y con mucho gusto se las hubiéramos cambiado si lo hubieran comunicado. Esperamos una mejor comunicación de su parte en un futuro para poder atenderlos aun mejor. Muchas Gracias

Muy simpático el barman
Lo único rescatable del hotel es que esta a una cuadra del centro y la playa Tiene 2 cuartos buenos, abajo que miran a la pileta Luego de la primera noche nos exigieron cambiar de habitación, sin explicación. Lamento haber accedido.trasladaron las valijas sin siquiera poder ver nosotros la habitación nueva ya que no la desocupaban hasta las 11:00 am. Desastroso cambio a un cuarto chico, con un aire acondicionado que funcionaba mal y con pésima vista El último día tuvimos que esperar a que el conserje, que llega a las 9:00 am y oficia de "maestro yogui" terminase una "clase de yoga" a las 10:30 am para que nos pudiese cobrar la cuente e irnos Les recomiendo se tomen un tiempito y busquen opciones. Carísimo para lo que ofrecen.

Too expencive for what you get, this hotel is dirty and not well kept. There are better hostels than this hotel. I can not recomend this place.

Quiet, Peaceful location near everything
My parents recommended the hotel to us as they had stayed there previously. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the hotel has a very relaxing and quiet atmosphere. It's in a great location, we were just a short walk from the beach and the many restaurants Tamarindo has to offer.

From the second we checked in by a staff member we were made to feel welcome. As we walked around the grounds you feel like you are in a private tiny jungle, it was breathtakingly beautiful. Our room was lovely, very clean and had a porch looking out to the pool and amazing landscape. We then met the managers who were very friendly and kind. We are vegan and it was no problem getting vegan food for our meals. The restaurant is open to the public as well and I highly recommend it. We will definately go back!! :)

Beautifully scrnic and nestled away from the bustle of Tamarindo but the water pressure was so unreliable. After dancing at Crazy Monkey until after midnight I was unable to shower or flush the toilet at 2am. Also couldn’t shower after a morning run on the beach. Breakfast was mediocre and way overpriced compared to nearby offerings. Staff amazing and decor was artitstic and tasteful. I would definitely stay there again and plan my showers strategically. Also very convenient walking distance to the beach.

Than you for your feedback .. not sure what exactly happened but we have very good pressure and people enjoy our breakfast very much .. if you can elaborate we can certainly look to correct or improve for others ...

I found it was very unique that on the first day I did not have a working shower and I asked the hotel manager Diego and he did not get it taken care of and had to ask one of the hotel maids on the fourth day after asking for two days in a row I begged her for a shower and then they finally got it done and there was no working air conditioning which I told the staff about and was ignored and Expedia was unable to help in getting any of the money back for even one day it was $200 per day

Michael, Thank You for your feedback. It is unfortunately that you did not mention to us upon departure instead you mentioned that your son needed a super high speed internet connection. We could have fix this overlook by the maid very easily. We hope your travels continue well ..

Wonderful Place feels like home away from home
Very comfortable and beautiful hotel, owners Luis and Miriam went out of their way to meet our every need. Very clean hotel, good meals at Barefoot restaurant on premises. Swimming pool at the doorstep, cozy patio with hammock- we did not want to leave.

Great place to stay in Tamarindo!
An awesome comfortable tropical hotel with amazing hands on ownership. More upscale and exotic than I expected. Yet priced very affordable compared to the higher end options. The Luamey is a perfect Tamarindo solution. Can't say enough good things about the owners Luis and Miriam with their wonderful team of Stephen and Will taking care of food service and amenities. The food was awesome, the bar drinks were amazing, and you were literally steps to the Tamarindo action. We are experienced travelers looking for higher quality while being price conscious. Would totally recommend Luamey...so much that when we checked out last week we booked a week for our daughter and granddaughter to come in May. Can't give a better recommendation than that!

Pleasing hotel in a perfect location
We booked through Expedia and after reading some reviews decided to go for a room upgrade. That was a good decision and the hotel staff gave us the options with photos and answered all our questions to help us decide on which room to upgrade to. I was very pleased with our experience throughout our entire stay. Rooms are comfortable, staff is very welcoming and wants to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is truly awesome. All of our needs were met during our 3 night stay. Would recommend this hotel and suggest to be proactive in confirming your room, layout etc well before your arrival and go for an upgrade if needed You will be very satisfied with your stay!

Started out sketchy, but ended up well
When we first arrived, the staff attempted to assign us to a room that did not include the features we reserved and paid for. We had to stay in a lesser featured room for two nights and the AC didn't work very well. They attempted to repair with no success. When we finally were assigned to the room we reserved, all was good. They did refund part of our charges. Overall it's a beautiful place once you get inside.

DO NOT STAY HERE THE PHOTOS FALSELY ADVERTISE
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PHOTS ON EXPEDIA. They only reflect the 2 best rooms and photos taken with a wide lens. The pool is dirty and small. Hammocks and patio views BAHAHA! When we arrived, I asked about breakfast. To my dissatisfaction, it was not included. I spoke with Marcella and with our first complaint to our last, her response was "sorry my lady I understand but the owner is out of the country. Next up, after receiving our key, I was left to roll my suitcase up a gravel path and with no assistance. Our disgusting room was OFF A PARKING LOT! I spoke with Marcella and again, "sorry my lady..." What was I going to do? The hotel was paid and I was a single woman traveling alone with a 7 year old. The room was gross and very small. There was a twin bed that was not fit for sleep. After our first day, we returned to an uncleaned room. "Sorry my lady..." The next day, Marcella told me the cleaner said I did not leave the door sign up for cleaning. Not true 547 characters left: 7 days sheets never changed, disgusting 7 days BR never cleaned, disgusting Nothing luxury about bedding or towels-old and smelly, gross 7 days coffee surface never cleaned and 1 day not replaced dirt, cobwebs and dead bugs every where dog pooped in front of gate. never picked up and stunk for 2 days straight Marcella rude and unhelpful emailed Luis (owner) a number of times COMPLETELY IGNORED I paid app $147/night for this #%&* hole. DO NOT STAY HERE. TERRIBLE HOTEL

Total scam that should NEVER be booked
Having bad experience with Expedia, I contacted the hotel directly to insure I was getting the room I booked. The responses I got from them were vague and rude. So I sent them pictures from their site showing exactly what I expected. Upon arrival, we were placed in what must be the worst room on the property. Promised Queen bed... got a double. The room was hot. The TV did not work. The door to the bathroom was a set of saloon doors. So basically no privacy when using the bathroom. Shower water spills into main room. There was no view of the pool from the room as promised. It was incredibly noisy on all sides. The food was terrible and the entire staff was rude. I tried to move that night, but had to stay one night before I moved to the Occidental Tamarindo. I will NEVER stay at this dump, recommend it to anyone. or book through Expedia. This was the worst hotel experience of my life.

Great service, great location.
Absolutely loved our experience. The hotel is five minutes walk to beach, restaurants, yoga studios. Staff was incredibly friendly, made to order breakfast every day. Only complaint is that the hotel advertised a fitness center which did not exist.

Ants, late night construction noise, odd bathroom
- The room was swarming with ants. I would guess we killed at least 40. - There was noisy construction on a room above us, which continued WELL AFTER MIDNIGHT. We were unable to get much sleep. - The bathroom does not have a proper door - there are two swinging doors that don't cover the height of the room, so it is basically open to the main room (no privacy). Additionally, there was no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so taking a shower caused water to track all over the bathroom and rest of the room. - Their internet was down, so WiFi didn't work, and neither did their hotel software / reservation systems. - The front door is difficult to lock / unlock (you have to really push on it when turning the key). Even when closed / locked, there is a sizable gap (I assume this is how the ants get in) - Reception desk has only one person (Marcella) with normal working hours (9-6 or so). Outside of those hours, there is nobody available to contact.

Not a great experience
I booked this place as of the reviews though I was very disappointed. No one helps you with the luggage even though there isn’t a paved path to the room. My room had no windows and there were tons of ants in the bathroom which made me feel uncomfortable. The location is not bad but afterall it’s not worth the money.

Best place in Tamarindo
Loved it! Hidden Jewel for sure. We stayed before in Playa hermosa at a all inclusive resort which was nice. But when we booked tamarindo I’m so glad we came across luamaney. The staff was superb, the food amazing and very safe. After reading some of the “bad reviews” I just can’t understand why. I mean I’m a picky person who demands clean and friendly stays and this definitely tops that. I will be back her Luis and Miriam. Xoxo

Not a boutique hotel -lack of attention to detail
1. Plumbing issues (toilet clogged, low pressure shower) 2. Big coacroach in the sink (saw it twice) 3. Dark path to the room at night (light sensor system was not effective) 4. Path to the beach is dusty, uneven terrain, dark, trash smell. 5. Short staffed. They upgraded the room b/c of the plumbing issues, nice if them, but they tolitet seat had urine from the previous guess. They tried to resolve every reported issue, but it was a little to late for us b/c that was not the expected experience from a ‘boutique’ hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Luamey. Luis and Miriam were gracious hosts and super friendly. The rooms, bar, pool, and patios were perfect. We will stay again for sure.

A little bit of Paradise
this little boutique hotel was so lovely and had everything anyone could ask for. Just a couple of minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the beach area you would walk into a calm and quaint homelike atmosphere. Off our room was a huge tiled patio with a hammock and a table and chairs where every morning we open our door there was coffee ready and waiting for us. The staff could not have been nicer with breakfast served every morning they always had huge smiles on their faces and ready for conversation . Hector gave me yoga lessons by the pool a couple of mornings. Luis and Mariam the owners came by and were very helpful in suggesting tours and where to go places. 2 min walk to beach and great restaurants. Can't wait to go there again as we loved it!!!!

Good location - less than 2 minutes walk to the main street and to the beach Excellent service - will help you with anything you want: From booking a surf class to helping you with transport to the airport. But just to note, this is not a 5 star luxury hotel -- it's a very cute, tiny boutique b&b, so set your expectations accordingly.

Great staff, beautiful patios
We stayed in a ground floor pool view room. The patios on our room was wonderful. A very romantic setting. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff served us breakfast on our private patio each morning😊 The staff really made our stay comfortable. If I go back to Tamarindo, I would definitely want to stay here again.

Check in was messy. 25 minutes to check in and they would not let us use the bathroom. We got into the room and it smells like a urinal mint. Took 3 hours to air it out. They don't allow you to have a glass or cup only foam cups. Staff don't speak much English and aren't helpful at all. The photos of the room are very deceptive. No soap for the sink. We didn't stay the night and just tanked the 300 dollars of our booking.

Hotel has the appearance of a luxury home with a nice pool. Two long blocks to the beach and the heart of the center of the town. Three block from the bus stop to Liberia or a taxi stand. Quite and peaceful

Glitters, but not quite gold
Great location very close to the Tamarindo business strip, but far enough to be a quiet oasis both day and night. The staff, led by Hector and his wife, were very helpful, friendly and responsive. We booked that turned out to be windowless off the back parking lot. Instead, we were upsold and accepted a room with a front cabana and view of the pool. Nonetheless, the room itself was quite dark. The walls had a few bug splats on them. Keeping those clean and touched up would improve the appearance. The exercise tent was unusable, with a few pieced of dated. dust covered equipment. The pool was cleaned every morning, but accumulated much tropical debris throughout the day due to the lush surroundings. More vigilance would improve its appeal. The breakfast was included with the room, served on our cabana, and outstanding in every respect.

Friendly staff and great breakfast
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Coffee and breakfast was served to us on our terrace every morning and was fabulous. Short stroll to the beach, restaurants and cafes. The driver who collected us and dropped us back at airport, and took us on a tour for the day, was also super friendly and made us feel welcome.
