Family Visit (Party of 11) - 7 Day (Mon-Mon)
PROS: The house is spacious 2 casitas allowed extended family to have their own private space. The house was fully equipped with everything needed even chairs and towels to beach. TVs w firesticks. Comfy beds. Close proximity to restaurants and beach. The highlight was the visits from iguanas, howler monkeys, racoons, and possum.
CONS: You will run out of water if staying w a large party or extended stay. Property is supplied with water via truck delivery (not city central system). Also, if you lose power, you will not have water since the system operates on a pump, and there is no backup generator. This is not disclosed in the listing. Unfortunately, we were w/o water starting Thu – Mon (~ 76hrs/3.2 days). Despite what the property management may say, this is a water delivery logistics issue. We feel 2.5 days could have been avoided (we aren’t counting the power outage) w frequently planned water refill deliveries to avoid complete water depletion. During this time, we had illnesses, had to ration flushing to only vomiting and #2, haul pool water for flushing, and buy jugs of water for cooking, dishes, and bathing. What’s most frustrating is property manager kept assuring water was going to be refilled soon. Had we known this was not a guarantee we would have left earlier. Also, disappointing/poor customer service is they promised compensation for the inconvenience. It's been over a week w no followup or apology. House was lovely, but this left a sour end to our stay.
