At Eagle's Nest, my husband, son and I felt as comfortable as if we were in our own home! The chalet is modern, lots of light, furnished with top-of-the-line furniture, as well as beautiful antiques, and wrapped in a relaxing deck and chairs. There was a welcome gift on the kitchen table, and the kitchen, living area and bathrooms had everything we needed to get us started on our stay. (Even Kleenex, spices, and enough plastic refrigerator tubs to keep our leftovers viable!) We spent most of the days exploring Alpine Lake by kayak, hiking around it, or swimming at the little beach, while enjoying all the wildlife. And when we came back, we settled into lazy-boy style armchairs and enjoyed the big-screen TV. Beds were clean and very, very comfortable. My son took over the balcony room upstairs with his own bath. There was plenty enough room for many more people. We didn't even need the downstairs room. Best of all....no crowds at Alpine Lake. Lucky to pass anyone on the well-cared-for walking trails and only a few boats (no motors) on the lake. Even the small beach had only a dozen or so people enjoying the sun and refreshing waters. We'll go again!
