I could not sleep in the room the hotel gave me as the church clock right outside my room chimed every 15 mins very loudly, that is 36 times per night, allowing no-one ever to actually get to sleep or rest. I was exhausted.
There was no phone in the room. I had to dress again and go down three flights of stairs to speak to the receptionist who told me to wear earplugs. Even wearing industrial strength ear plugs it was impossible to even rest slightly.
I climbed down the three flights of stairs again and asked for a room downstairs or at the back of the property to swap me to, however they had none available to swap me to.
The owner asked me to book into an alternative hotel and offered a full refund straight away. This is obviously a recurring problem. So I booked into another hotel, climbed up and down the three flights again with my bags and carried them across the city to an alternative hotel.
There was three weeks of no action by the owner who promised to contact Expedia to facilitate the refund. Their communication with me has been very poor and still no refund.
I am most frustrated by the lack of attention to this matter and my having to come up with all the answers to the problems with this hotel management. The money should have been paid directly back to me 3 weeks ago. They could have actioned it at reception.
Do not stay at this hotel as they will rip you off as they have done to me.
