This place was in the best location. Quiet, close to the water, the only downside was the 111 steps to the water. We got a workout every day and loved every minute of giggling the way back up! We will be back to Watauga Lake for sure!

Well furnished, roomy home in a beautiful setting. Kitchen, eating, and gathering place is great for large crowds. The separate bedrooms each having bathroom access is a real plus. The only negative would be the limited access to the lake or upper and lower levels of the house for anyone with mobility issues. We did have to shorten our stay due to winter weather warnings because access to the house could be difficult in bad weather.

We had no idea what to expect having never been to the mountains before, but this place did not disappoint. From the view, to the lovely space, everything was amazing. I will say the stairs to the dock are wild, the road leading up to the house was a next level mountain road but everything added to the

Just the cutest lake house. Set up made our entire family feel like they had their own space. The views are spectacular. All of the special touches like firewood for smores at night just sent it over the top. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you can think of. We will definitely come back again!

This was a wonderful house for my college friends to spend the week relaxing on the lake. The house is well-appointed. It is in a beautiful area and the dock access to bring our boat was ideal. The things I would change: All of the items in the kitchen were labeled in the cupboards, however, not all of those items still exist in the kitchen. Also, we needed extra blankets and there are no additional linens in the home. The deck supports have noticeably sunk. And the trash and food disposal instructions were contradictory due to recent bear activity. But those were minor inconveniences and we really enjoyed our stay.

This house among the trees with access to a dock was fantastic for our family’s annual spiritual retreat. The water was cool and the floating was refreshing. Great setup for evening s’mores and the house was well stocked with spice basics.

Beautiful home, nicely decorated, so much space, comfortable beds, great deck and fire pit. Hiking the 128 stairs to the lake was not as bad as I though it would be, but it did make the lake feel far away, and we didn't use the lake as much as I expected. All in all, we had a great weekend of relaxation.

If 10 ☆'s were an option, that's what we would leave! This property is very well maintained! Ample space inside and out for our motley crew ! Excellent communication- Super nice and very helpful with questions we had about the area. We had no need for any communication about the property, as it was perfectly self exclamatory and well equipped. - Very Clean- I am very particular and carry cleaning supplies with me to every hotel and vacation rental. This is the 1st time, ever, that I didn't have to use them! Some reviews mentioned the stairs to the dock. Stairs and trails are expected to maintain a safe distance from lakes and rivers. I was ecstatic with the well constructed stairwell and banisters! Thank You For a Wonderful Stay!!

We picked up our son and his tramily on one of the local trailheads as they are thru-hiking the AT. The drive to the house is a little sketchy but if you hit the grocery store on your way in, there's no reason to leave until your trip is over! There are even fresh herbs in the driveway! You can unload right into the main level (only two steps up to the front door). Huge, nice fridge! Plenty of sleeping options and big bathrooms all fully stocked with towels, shampoo, soap and toilet paper. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals. There are lots of glasses, dishes and silverware to use (so no paper products needed) as well as a dishwasher. Laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid and detergent included. Lounging on the deck was a favorite activity. There are 110 steps down to the dock but not bad if you rest on the way back up! A great time was had by all!

Very nice home with great accommodations. We had 8 people with us and everyone had plenty of room. We could all sit at the table together for meals, but there’s plenty of outdoor seating, too. Kitchen is well-stocked with a Keurig coffee maker, but also a drip one, too. A large crock pot is available, too. Plenty of parking for cars. (We had 3). The views of the lake were wonderful. For families, there is a high chair and a pack away crib, too. Would recommend this house. My only criticism would be the water was not ultra hot. It was warm, but after a long hike, a hotter shower would have been great. Overall, a very nice vacation for us!

House was amazing, beautiful! Had everything you need and more. HOWEVER... city girls like me should know that you have to go up a narrow steep twisty road. And just when you think you are there, make a steeper turn up higher around a few more curves. But otherwise it was incredible - my men did not have problems with the curves.

We have rented facilities for many years for our leadership retreat. This was undoubtedly the best we have had. It was so clean and well appointed. Everything we could think of was supplied for us. The view was absolutely breathtaking! Easy check-in and out. Caretaker was there when we arrived. Very nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back.
