Nice house but lacking basic supplies
This was a very nice stay for our family of 12. The reason we gave it 3 stars was it seriously lacked basic items. There is one towel per bathroom, no wash clothes or hand towels, left us one small 4 oz bottle of dish washing soap, 2 dish towels in the kitchen. When we ran out of tp the manager said “go get your own, we supply the first roll.” Now keep in mind we are paying over 800. a night. Like I said we really did enjoy the house and we would consider going again sometime. I feel like the owner needs to hear this report. These items would not be expensive to supply your guests and for the price of the stay we think the house should be better supplied. Thank you

Incredible stay near Lake Tahoe
My friends and I were absolutely thrilled with our stay. The home exceeded all of our expectations! The location was great, and the backyard, fire pit and hot tub were all fantastic. Definitely would recommend for others to stay at this beautiful home!

Beautiful Truckee home

Excellent cabin - clean, well stocked, updated
This cabin was a perfect fit for our annual family friend ski trip. It is probably the nicest cabin we have rented as a group. Situated in Truckee it is ideally located close to all of our favorite ski resorts. It’s a really nice cozy cabin and the living spaces and kitchen were very spacious. The kitchen is super well stocked - we were able to cook dinners easily. There is a great deck overlooking a large backyard with lot of trees. Super nice quite large hottub. This is a really ideal cabin for a group of a few families. The master bedroom is really huge and nice. We didn’t really have anything negative to say, overall great experience and we felt like it was a good value for what you get.

Ski weekend getaway
We rented the house for a ski weekend with friends and it was perfect. Great location close to downtown Truckee. Spacious room. Great areas to hang out together. Clean. Well stocked. Nothing to complain about. Will be keeping this one on the short list for future trips.

Great house for a group!
This is a terrific home, especially for a group! My group stayed for three nights. We found the home to be spacious and clean. The owners were easy to reach for all issues. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to others.

Great stay in a great location!
This was the perfect property and location for our annual family trip! The kitchen was perfect for prepping big meals, and the children could safely play in the fenced in yard. The location was super convenient to downtown Truckee, Donner Lake, and many hiking trails. The hosts were very accommodating and super responsive during the booking process.

Beautiful Truckee rental
We had a wonderful vacation at the Ponderosa Palisades property! The house is really set up well for large groups - we had 5 adults, two teenagers and two toddlers; there are enough bedrooms/sleeping areas in this house for everyone to have their own space. Everything was very clean and in great working condition, and the check-in process was easy and straightforward. The kitchen is really well-equipped for cooking, which was a huge plus for us. Getting into the Tahoe proper area was also very quick; it's only about a 20 minute drive away so you feel like you can access the north Tahoe/Incline Village areas while being away from the bustle of those areas. The Palisades neighborhood is quiet and was great for a family stay. I'd highly recommend this property for a large group looking for a quiet place to stay near Tahoe!

Great Spot for Family Get Together
This was a great place for our family get together as we attended a wedding. There was plenty of space to spread out but the common areas were wonderful for large groups to enjoy time together. We enjoyed the great outdoor area. The fire pit and hot tub were great gathering spots. The unusually warm weather meant we would have lliked an air conditioner the last night and we had to put sheets on one of the beds but those were minor issues. It was a very nice stay.

Great Central Place for Visiting Truckee
We had a small family gathering for my cousin's surprise birthday. We enjoyed the breweries in town and felt that our place was a great location, close proximity to downtown and other activities. The place was clean and well kept and the kitchen was supplied with everything we needed for cooking our meals at the house. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Amazing house and backyard!
Carrie and Tod's house was perfect for 11 30+ year olds. The house was very clean upon arrival and check in process was very easy. Carrie was extremely responsive to my questions. The hot tub and fire pit in the backyard were amazing! The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, pots, pans, baking pans, etc. The neighborhood is quiet with a few trails just up the road from the house. I would definitely stay again!!

Truckee Good Time!
I rented the property for my birthday celebration with friends and family! We had an awesome time! Tod and Carrie were super host very responsive and so accommodating! The house was nice and had more than enough room for my family of 12! So many nearby places to visit as well. We had a great time and we would definitely stay again!!

Lovely home in the trees
Overall we had a wonderful time. The house is has plenty of space for a large group. It has lots of windows so you feel like you are in the middle of a forest. The fire pit was a lot of fun to sit around and relax. Would stay again. Great communication with the owners.

Lovely house near Truckee and Donner Lake
This house is just so lovely and comfortable with everything you could want for a stylish, well-appointed and relaxing vacation, with lots of beautiful tall trees and lovely indoor and outdoor spaces . We cooked dinner for the three nights we were here and appreciated the new and fully stocked kitchen at our disposal, as well as a gas grill . It's a very short drive to Truckee ( try Dark Horse Coffee!) and Safeway; about 12 minutes to Donner Lake (Donner Memorial Park!) , and about 1/2 hour easy drive to Tahoe Vista/ Lake Tahoe (kayak rentals at Commons Beach, burgers and beer on the patio at Fat Cat!) . One of our party had to work remotely and had plenty of room to camp out in the office downstairs and work while the rest of us were upstairs undisturbed in the kitchen, living room and upper deck. Carrie was responsive and more than accommodating when another party after us canceled unexpectedly, and she offered to ask the cleaners if they could accommodate us earlier for check in, and a later check out -- such a treat! We had a great time at the house and would love to visit again! HIghly recommmend!

This home is in a great location. The house was very clean and fit the 8 of us perfectly. Nice comfy beds big spacious kitchen with everything you’ll need. The owners was very helpful and answered all our questions. We will definitely be renting again. Five stars in my book for sure.

Perfect house for 12
We stayed here during Thanksgiving weekend with my friends. The house is very comfortable for 12 people, clean, warm and cozy. There was an issue with a nest of yellow jackets around the house and Tod took care of it and was very polite and responsive at every moment. We’ll come back here for sure!

Our family had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and very comfortable four family of 12. The massive pine trees are spectacular. In the master suite, you feel like you are in a tree house! Very peaceful. The 2 living spaces were a hit providing very comfortable spaces for visiting and catching up. The owners were very attentive and quickly responded to our questions. We loved our stay. Thank you for sharing your home. Truckee is a very beautiful location to visit. Much quieter than more populated areas; yet, with charm and excellent restaurants.

Wonderful place!
This home has a fully stocked kitchen and amenities, is in a great location, and is great flor a large family. The floor plan was helpful after hours with having our younger kids downstairs and adults upstairs with the kitchen and the master, second bedroom and loft. We would definitely love to return!

Great home for Family Gathering
The house was an excellent home base for our 6 night stay in the Lake Tahoe Region. The layout and design features of the house served our family of 9 adults and 1 infant very well. The location provided good access to our primary activities (water sports, hiking, and biking) while also providing some separation from the heavy crowds and tourism of Lake Tahoe. We felt like the house was a good value for the money, exceptionally provisioned, and met the description on the website.

Great house with lots of room for a family.
My family and I needed a 5 bedroom rental to spontaneously move our Thanksgiving visit to Tahoe to escape the wildfire smoke. Carrie was so accommodating and easy to work with and the house worked perfectly for our group. Thanks for making everything so easy! And the bonus was waking up to a white Thanksgiving with the most beautiful snow covered forest in the backyard

Great for 40th birthday weekend getaway with friends
What a wonderful house! I have stayed in many rental houses in the Lake Tahoe area and this one by far was top of the list! We had 10 people up for my husband's 40th birthday weekend, the house was perfect for all of us. Each couple had their own room and the house was comfortable for all of us to spread out and do our own thing when we wanted, or hang out together and have dinner in the dining room and drinks by the fire pit. Everyone requested to remember this house for future trips up, it would be great to bring our kids too in the winter for skiing. House was clean, everything needed for cooking for a party of 10 in the kitchen and SUPER comfy beds, we all slept amazing which was so nice since we all have small kids at home that we left for the weekend. Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us, looking at winter dates already for a return trip up!

Well loved home

Great cabin for a fall Tahoe trip!
Tod and Carrie's cabin worked super well for my group of 15 friends. The space was comfortable and accommodating; everyone had a place to sleep, cook, eat, and hang out. The hot tub was delightful. The location also put us ~30 mins away from some good hiking and bouldering spots. We were originally supposed to rent this cabin in June for Tough Mudder, but the event location was changed last minute; Tod and Carrie were super cooperative and helped us work out an "exchange weekend".

Beautiful Cabin
We were three families and really enjoyed the spacious cabin. The place is updated and nicely arranged. Beautiful furniture and the kitchen was probably the most well stocked of all the cabins we stayed at. There were 2 crock pots, skewers for s'mores and anything you can think of. The back yard was gigantic. We really enjoyed the fire pit. Tod and Carrie were super responsive. The loft area is in its own separate area above the kitchen so almost like a separate room. We could have fit another family with plenty of space. The cabin is also really close to everything. 15 min to Northstar and 20min to Kings Beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Spacious, modern, light-filled home perfect for large groups
Was the perfect summer house for our group of 10. From the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows, multiple patios, fire pit and modern kitchen, we could not have been happier with our stay. The house was also conveniently located 20 minutes away from Kings Beach and a local Safeway. Tod and Carrie were very responsive and easy to work with. We look forward to staying again!

Beautiful Home in a Great Location

Very comfortable house, great for large family or group gatherings
Our family has an annual gathering of three siblings their families and our parents. There were 12 of us and the Knudsens place was a great setting for the long weekend we stayed there. Close to Truckee (1.5 miles), near walking trails, fantastic bike trails, etc. We loved the roomy space in the house, comfy beds and very functional bathrooms for a group. We could have used a little more lighting in the common rooms for night time. There was a lack of light fixtures whether intentional or not it wasn't a deal breaker but we had a harder time playing games together from the evening on in the TV room and dining table. Plenty of outdoor space, great lawn, many patio decks from different access points. Just such an easy place to fit a lot of people and still not be crowding each other out. We would stay there again if available. It's a busy place, but worth the effort to book it. Thank you Tod and Carrie for sharing your place with our family. It was a great time full of great memories especially for our parents!

Wonderful property

Roomy and comfortable
We were looking for a large, comfortable place to stay for an extended weekend not too far from our home to celebrate some milestones…two college graduations and a Municipal Clerk certification. This beautiful, comfortable home in Truckee was perfect! It was clean, spacious, and had all the comforts of home. Many of us enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit provided an excellent evening of talk and stargazing...the 12 of us had an excellent time. Any questions before hand were quickly and kindly answered by Tod. I would highly recommend this Truckee home.

Beautiful home
We loved staying here to celebrate my birthday. Everyone was comfortable and had enough space to not feel crowded. My only complaint would be that we couldn't get the gas fire pit to work, which I was really looking forward to. The owner was very prompt and helpful over the phone in trying to help us get it on, but we couldn't figure it out. It was also in a great location, just about 1.5 miles to downtown Truckee, which was perfect. Overall, a great experience and we'd definitely love to come back very soon.

Hi Jessica, Belated happy birthday! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to hear from you and your group in the future. We normally go up to the house after the ski lease ends to make certain everything is working but this year we could not make it until after your stay. The fire pit issue turned out to be a flooded timer which was caused by the massive amount of snow during the 2016/2017 winter. We were able to have the installer come out while we were there in early June and they fixed it immediately and caulked the hole so water could not accumulate again. Again, we are so sorry this was not functional while you were there, but greatly appreciate you letting us know so we could have it fixed for future guest use. Cozy Cabin in Ponderosa Palisades
We had three families (13 total) shared this cabin over New Year's and had plenty of space. The cabin floor plan is great for multiple families and nicely decorated with 2 bedrooms upstairs and three downstairs. It was nice to send the kids downstairs for them to have their own space while the adults enjoyed the upstairs living room. The owners were quick to respond to initial inquiry and all requests following. The house was very clean and well maintained. The kids enjoyed sledding in the backyard and very close to some hiking trails. It's a very cozy cabin with great natural light from many windows in the family room. We especially enjoyed sitting by the fire watching the snow fall in the backyard.

The whole family loved this house. Five kids ages 5 yo, 3 yo, 34 mo, 17 mo, and 6 mo. I think the parents would like to have had "kid gates" to block off the stairs from the ground level to the main (middle) level but we made do.

We stayed at this home 9 August through 15 August 2017. Our family of nine had a wonderful stay. This home is clean, neat and very well equipped. The kitchen has everything you might need.
