Thanks for the wonderful detailed review Alex. The "bottomless blue skies" of Tucson and Southeastern Arizona rank as 1 of the best places for birding in the US year after year. The reminder from a guest to follow the directions we give is really appreciated! We find getting to all points of Tucson fairly easy within about 45 mins because of how close the Interstate is. For some that may be a long ways but we love to look at the scenery along the way and that seems to make drives go by faster.

It’s always encouraging when guests notice the work Rhonda and I put into making the Firelight Casita a cozy, comfortable home. Rhonda and I were talking about the reviews mentioning the road and mostly I thought that dirt road conditions are a subjective issue. Most of our guests come and go in rental cars. Some of our neighbors drive sports cars and so far without any problems. Since the road is mentioned more often lately in reviews, I decided to use Google Maps and Apple Maps for directions on how to get to the Firelight Casita. What a surprise! The routes suggested were roads we don't use. If guests use smartphone apps to find the address the dirt roads are longer and rougher. In our welcome email the routes we drive to the Firelight Casita are given. It makes the message longer and sometimes people have little time to read long instructions. Taking our suggested route uses more paved roads shortening the dirt road as much as possible.
