Charming historic home being restored by owner. Very helpful host/owner. Not luxurious but very historic. Wonderful breakfast. Do have to walk a bit from where taxi can drop or parking. Highly recommend it you want the feeling of living in the Medina.

Stay at La Chambre Bleue was wonderful. Right in the heard of the medina, walking distance to Kasbah Square, 2 mosques and souks. Its hard for taxi or bolt to navigate thru the medina area so you have to walk out to the main streets for catching a taxi. The hosts, Marouanne and Chyraz, were super. So helpful and a pleasure to talk to. The room we stayed in could definitely use some maintenance as the tile walls could use some TLC. Its an older structure so more maintenance needed always. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend if you would like to stay in the medina. I looked forward to homemade breakfast every morning...miss it now :)

The room and the property are absolutely beautiful and full of character. The location in the Medina puts you right in the middle of the action. This can mean that it isn't always quiet or easy to get in and out, but this was part of the fun for me. The property owner and staff are delightful and very helpful for planning things to do and understanding how to navigate the area. Additionally, the breakfast each morning was new, unique, and delicious. I learned a lot about local cuisine from that alone. The rooms are enormous and full of character. That being said, it is an old building and you should expect the nuance that comes with that. The biggest surprise for me was that my room could only be locked from the inside, so it remained unlocked while I was gone (The building has a very secure lock). Risk of being robbed by fellow guests is very low, but a lock would have given me more peace of mind. Just something travelers should be aware of when booking. Overall, this was one of the most fun, unique, and delightful hotels I've ever stayed in. Thank you for the great experience!

Accueil très chaleureux de Marouane ,natif de la médina et de son épouse. Vaste Maison familiale ou il y a quatre chambres d’hôtes.La notre, au rez de chaussée était très vaste avec ses colonnes. Nous nous sommes sentis "comme à la maison", avec beaucoup d'échanges humains Sonia la cuisinière adorable , avec ses petits déjeuners toujours variés

Awesome team - the owners and the service staff are super friendly and always open for some tips on what to do and a chat! Marouane is great and I also got some insights on the history of the house and the renovations he did to preserve the original building/style as good as possible.. Had a great time there and felt super save (travelled alone as a women)! Plus, the breakfast was also delicious!

I enjoyed my stay. The owner is very kind and attentive to his guests. I would have given five stars but there were a couple things that didn't go as planned. The shades in the windows of the rooms were not working properly and I was not able to block out the light for early morning sleep. This was important for me to get a good night sleep. Other than that, I think if this is fixed this would be a 5 plus star review. The owner says that he will correct it. Once he does I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly

La Chambre Bleue Is a guest house situated in the Medina of Tunis, it is very unassuming from the outside, but inside very cosy with a authentic decor. We meant the most delightful person by the name of Appollinaire who is the in house chef and in charge of room service. His presence was charming and delightful. He went out of his way to help is out during Ramadan to show us where the local market & gargottes were situated. Without his presence we would have changed location. As for the owners of the guest house, they were helpful for our arrival. Personally, while always being courteous, we found them to be overwhelming. They were always in your face for you to partake in their household activies and group meals. This became stressful and annoying. My husband and myself are very carefree in our travels and enjoy our liberty without constraints. Finally the service we paid for was for a room with breakfast included. No more and no less. And finally please do not pass judgement on unfinished meals, it just rude!

C’était fabuleux de découvrir la Medina de Tunis en y logeant, en profitant des efforts individuels et collectifs entrepris pour conserver son authenticité, son apparence, son charme. Marouane et Shiraz m'ont ouvert les portes de leur demeure avec générosité et attention, ils m'ont offert une très agréable séjour, de délicieux petits-déjeuners faits maison et m'ont conseillée pour profiter au mieux de on temps sur place. Un grand merci à eux pour leur accueil tout en douceur et bravo pour leurs efforts de conservation du patrimoine! It was fabulous to discover the Medina of Tunis from the inside, enjoying the individual and collective efforts undertaken to preserve its authenticity, its appearance, its charm. Marouane and Shiraz opened to me the doors of their home with generosity and care, they offered me a very pleasant stay, delicious homemade breakfasts and advised me to make the most of my time there. Bonjour Stéphane, vous avez raison, et j'en suis désolé. Notre système de brumisateurs (on est contre la climatisation pour des raisons écologiques) est en panne (il fait déjà plus frais, et l'été prochain tout sera réparé). Nous avons ajouté un ventilateur dans la chambre, en plus du ventilateur au plafond, mais je comprends que ça soit insuffisant. Je regrette que votre nuit se soit mal passée, si vous repassez par Tunis, je pourrais vous proposer un dédommagement.J'espère que le reste de votre séjour a été plus confortable.Bien à vous,Marouane

One of the Top Stays in Tunisia
Stay here if you want to get a good feel for Tunisia's rich history! The rooms are exactly as shown in the pictures. Beautiful property and even more beautiful hosts! Marwan and Khaira went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Marwan not only helped with my transportation to get to my next hotel, but I ran into him in town several days after my check out and he came to my aid yet again in helping me find my taxi that had apparently arrived via Bolt app (the equivalent of Uber but used often in Tunisia). He did not have to do that but his beneficence was shown through even brighter than before. He is so kind, warm and helpful and always smiling. Khaira is no different! Just book your stay here. The lack of AC is a minor complaint when you see how beautiful the house is and you completely forget about it when you meet Khaira and see her smile every morning when making/serving you her homemade breakfast. 10/10! Thank you, Marwan and Khaira. God Bless.

Ubforgettably beautiful
Marwan is an amazingly helpful and kind host who goes above and beyond for his guests. I wasnt able to get a taxi to to my next hotel as none were servicing the madina due to narrow streets. Marwan came to the rescue with what looked like a Tunisian rickshaw. So awesome of him. And Khaira was an angel. She makes a lovely breakfast every morning with a big heartfelt genuine smile. Such a caring woman who wants to ensure your atay is perfect. She, too, helped so much during my stay with logistics and advice on where to go. The one downside was that there is no air conditioner in the house or the rooms. It would be a perfect place to stay if ac units were placed in rooms. Beautiful house overall and lovely, inviting people. Stay here! You do not want to miss.

Malgré une arrivée très tardive à cause de l'avion,Sondos nous a accueillis de charmante manière. Les chambres sont très originales et calmes (nous avons essayé les 2) Situé dans la médina de Tunis,c'est bien pratique pour aller faire vos emplettes...Compter au moins ...300m ...vous serez en plein dedans. Le petit déjeuner est servi qu'avec des produits frais et avec le sourire. Sondos saura vous conseiller pour vos visites et le guide qui va avec . Abdelkarim est intarissable....Mais aussi pour les restaurants... Elle vous proposera même le taxi qui viendra vous chercher et vous ramener à l'aéroport en partant ,Kamel est d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle.Il vous emmènera jusqu'à la chambre bleue. Un beau week-end en somme... Merci Sondos!

The room was beautiful and rustic. Wifi was so-so in the room, but the bed was comfortable and the sitting area was enjoyable. Our favourite part was the fresh ricotta at breakfast!

Un gite magique et de toute beauté, les images sur le site ne font que donnr un aperçu de la splendeur du lieu. Sondes la proprietaire était est très accueillante et très chaleureuse...et de bon conseil. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés Notre famille retournera à la chambre bleue avec grand plaisir !

I can't say enough about how perfect this place was. The location is absolutely perfect and I used the map and recommendations provided throughout my trip. I stayed in the Blue Room and the original tiles were beautiful. The breakfasts every morning were absolutely delicious. Every one of them could be on the menu at any top brunch place in New York City. The cat also made my trip. It never came into my room, but waited for me outside of my door every morning wanting a cuddle.

this place is beautiful and is very well equipped - we really enjoyed our stay. Sondos is lovely and very helpful and welcoming. We highly recommend this place. The Medina is fun place to stay and Chambre bleue Is in a great location.

Great character to the building, really nicely and stylishly refurbished. Service, hospitality and breakfast were all wonderful.

Sondos ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin, die Unterbringung ist fabelhaft, eine zauberhafte Umgebung, das exquisite Frühstück mit erlesenen Zutaten. Das Haus liegt am Rande der Medina, in einer kleinen Gasse. Es ist eine Oase der Ruhe in einer ansonsten sehr lebhaften Umgebung. Man ist mitten im tunesischen Leben, kleine Läden, die Souks, Märkte, Cafés, Restaurants, Taxistände sind in kurzer Zeit fußläufig erreichbar. Unbedingt empfehlenswert,immer wieder gerne! Accueilis très chaleureusement par Sondos, nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en pleine Médina et profité de ses précieux conseils pour nos excursions et visites. Une très belle rencontre ! Le loft est très fonctionnel et le dépaysement est total. Nous recommandons vivement !
