10th Time on Vieques
Jeanne and I loved the Island House. The location was perfect, close to everything on Vieques with a very private and quiet location. Everything about the place was as the listing stated one of our best trips to Vieques. The pool was great with plenty of outdoor seating and an outdoor shower for when you return from the beaches. From booking to check in to check out was very easy, plus the communications from Lisa and Aurelio were outstanding and very helpful! Everything was Perfect! Brad C

Brilliant
This is a dream vacation house. It is spacious and well appointed. We didn't cook much, but we certainly could have. The pool is dreamy. Lisa and Aurelio communicated really well and everything was very easy. It's a small island so everything, including endless sublime beaches, is close. Unbelievably great spot.

Really lovely stay
We really enjoyed our week spent here. It’s nicely located in a residential neighborhood with nice views to the south from the deck near the pool. It’s pretty central, so convenient for getting to either side of the island. We rented a Jeep and were glad for it- the driveway is pretty steep, but there is plenty of space at the top to park and even turn around. It was the perfect size for two people, though I think it would definitely be tight quarters with more than that. The pool was great to have, and very refreshing. It’s in the shade during the afternoon, which is actually a nice break from the sun if you’ve been at the beach all day. We really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler (there was a larger hard sided one and a soft sided zip cooler that was a bit more practical). We didn’t do a lot of cooking, but did use it for breakfasts and a night in when we had a lot of leftovers. Kitchen was well stocked, we definitely could have used it more! Aurelio the property manager is great, very helpful and responsive if you have any questions. I’d happily stay here again!

Remarkable!
As advertised. Terrific view, clean, private, comfortable home with everything you need. Love the donation jar for your loose change in the kitchen to support Vieques Humane Society. But the pool- come on! It’s perfect! We left behind some extra pool/ocean floats for next guests to enjoy, but there are several more in the outside storage bin. Aurelio, the property manager, is great. The sky at night is dark and great for star gazing from the deck or pool. Lots of shooting stars. Well-equipped kitchen- everything you need, as well as gas and charcoal grills. Wish we stayed longer- 4 nights is not enough. Enjoy this gem!

Terrific property, terrific stay
I highly, highly recommend this property. My wife and I spent 7 days here for our honeymoon. Aurelio was very easy to work with. We had our flight delayed long enough to put our flight from San Juan to Vieques off a day. Aurelio worked with us and we were very easily able to check in. The property looks very similar to the picture. The only difference is that the colors are more vibrant, if anything. The interior is cozy yet has enough room, and it's very, very convenient to have laundry appliances on site. We didn't do much with the kitchen except store leftovers from the fantastic restaurants on Vieques, and make daiquiris in the blender. The bedroom is very comfortable and so is the bed. Roomy shower and a well-laid-out bathroom. The porch is extensive. The view is phenomenal. You can clearly see 2 bays, including the bioluminescent bay. The pool was a very nice size and was a great relief to swim around in during the hotter times. The property is very private. The pool isn't visible from the other properties - the retaining wall is huge and the pool is on the opposite side of the house from the other houses in the cul-de-sac. Private and very peaceful. The location is excellent. Both Isabel Segundo and Esperanza have different things to offer, and they're about equally close to the house. We were able to drive all the way to the west end of the island in about 20 minutes from the property. I would buy it if I could!!

I took a lot of time researching different properties before making a reservation. The reviews for this property are positively accurate. Lisa was wonderful to deal with and Aurelio couldn't have been more hepful! The property was clean and welcoming. The pool is even more beautiful in person! Gorgeous views from the porch, including the occasional peacock strolling by. I loved the location, the layout and the views this property offers. I will most definitely return for another stay.

I’d give it 10 stars if I could
Go, it’s great. You’re on top of the world and nothing is too far away (if you are brave about driving narrow, twisty roads at night). There’s literally nothing to complain about. I even like that there are plenty of hooks, drawers and hangers so you can organize your stuff. Things you need for the beach are at the ready. Go on a snorkel tour with Sarah from Crystal Clear.

Paradise
Our stay in Vieques was magical. From the sunny days to the horses that visited us on the porch and the endless views of the Caribbean. Our property was close to the beaches and the perfect place to relax. There is a school next door but other than drop off we never heard from the students. The outdoor shower was amazing!!! We will definitely visit again next year ☀️

Almost the perfect stay!
Incredible views, and the pool is lovely and much larger than it appears in photos. Inside is exactly as pictured with a well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bed. Super quiet neighborhood… except when the neighbor is building a garage, which was weekdays starting at 7 am. Intermittent construction noise—scraping or power tools. We didn’t have the right to complain because hey it’s a neighborhood and because they usually stopped by 1 pm, but it kind of catches you off guard. Afternoons and evenings were silent, and star watching is awesome. Also gorgeous welcome snacks were in the fridge when we arrived. Thanks so much.

Renting this VRBO was a wonderful experience, and I would be happy to be back! The property manager was extremely helpful and the home is beautiful. Do not attempt to rent a golf cart due to the steep driveway (stick with a car or Jeep).

Perfect oasis for introverts! 5 stars!
If you’re looking for peace, quiet, and a break from people, this is it! I’ve been booking vacations for some time, and it’s tough to find a house so well equipped and this private. The only noise is tropical birds and your only visitors are stray dogs who sometimes use the pool. You’ll find everything you need in the house. I appreciated that all fabrics are natural—no sweating through polyester sheets here. Side note: There is no hospital on this island since hurricane Maria in 2018. Bring a first aid kit! We booked as a last minute getaway, and Lisa kindly helped us with logistical snags that were entirely my fault. If you need a ride from San Juan to the Ceiba ferry, ask for Zack as your taxi in Puerto Rico! Zack is reliable. I do have a few words of advice for anyone booking and visiting Vieques for the first time: Be aware that tension points of your trip are logistics from the ferry to the rental car, to the VRBO, and then back again. If you can solve this before your trip, you’ll have a better time. Aurelio DOES pick you up on arrival and will take you to your car rental—this is part of the package. On the ferry headed toward the island, Avis called us and said they were closing at 1 p.m. (Google says they close at 4). Aurelio picked us up, but we were stuck at the VRBO until the next morning. Not a bad place to be stuck, but NO TAXIS were available the next morning to get our rental car. We appreciate that Aurelio was willing to take us to Avis, as it is NOT his job to be our taxi. Without his help, we would have lost another half day from our trip without a car. On the return trip off the island, we experienced challenges. At the beginning of our trip, Aurelio assured us he would drop us off at the ferry, just message him the day before. We did, but with no response for 8 hours. Certain we would miss the ferry and our flight, and with no taxis willing to take us, we messaged Lisa. Lisa said Aurelio did not have to take us to the ferry--only 1 trip was included. I understand Lisa is likely protecting Aurelio from becoming a taxi service, but I do think she should reconsider given no morning taxis are available and given that ferry service is difficult. However, he did show up, so we are happy we didn’t miss our outgoing flight. My husband and I travel often--stress is part of travel. We think Lisa’s property is beautiful, quiet, and clean--you’ll have a great time if you can navigate logistics and communication. Thank you, Lisa!

Located on at the top of a quiet hill (steep drive-be prepared) with a wonderful view of the ocean!! Private pool was comfortable and clean. Overall cozy place for a couple for sure! Will admit the neighborhood you go through to get there isn’t the best for all is worth it once you get to the house.

Perfect home with great views and Pool
My wife and I had a great time in this lovely home that was set on a hillside over looking the National park and ocean. We were met by the property manager Aurelio at the house and he showed us everything. He help us throughout the week with info and suggestions for dinner etc. . The property owner Lisa made a suggestion for Lunch to take to the beach "Buen Provecho Cafe". Great Salad and Sandwich. The POOL. Wow, Amazing view from the deck . A beautiful property
We had a wonderful time at this house. I had read all the reviews prior to our stay there, and everything I learned from them turned out to be true. The owner made sure everything was perfect before we got to the place. She purchased a brand new gas grill, new beach chairs and new beach towels just before we came. We enjoyed the privacy of the location and will be sure to visit again.

Had an amazing time here.
This place exceeded all expectations. Don’t overpack; they have everything you need for beach trips, including beach chairs, umbrellas, even beach towels. There is a washer and dryer, so you really only need to pack for half the time that you are there. House was clean and comfortable, separate air-conditioning in the bedroom as well as the living room. The pool.....the pool was amazing. Bigger than I though it’d be, clean, and super refreshing. We found tarantulas in the pool overnight twice, so make sure you keep the doors of the house closed! The view of Esperanza, Bio Bay, and Puerto Ferro never got old, nor did the stars at night with the lack of light pollution up there in the jungle. We miss it already and will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for a peaceful, romantic getaway, this is your house! The pool and views are amazing, and the outdoor shower gave me life! The house is fully equipped with all the necessities and comforts to make for a great vacation. Aurelio, the house manager, is a pleasure to deal with and very helpful. Love this place! Great home, amazing location, lovely owner and manager. This is a nature lovers and stargazers paradise...just bring your bathing suit and enjoy the Island! Go to the beautiful Vieques beaches or stay lounging by the pool, go to the bioluminescent bay on a moonless night or lounge by the pool with your favorite cocktail and count the shooting stars, explore the Island from end to end or work on your tan while lounging by the pool... I guess you know what I did...you won’t regret doing the same in this amazing home. Don’t even think about it, just do it!

Perfect house for a romantic get-a-way
What can I say ? This was a wonderful experience. The house was great. Had everything we needed,coolers, beach chairs,towels, the kitchen was very well equipped. The pool was clean and secluded. The grounds and house were very well kept. Great views of the bays. Absolutely loved the island. The locals were SUPER friendly and helpful in every regard. Lisa (the owner) was extremely helpful with her recommendations and very prompt with her responses and genuinely concerned that we had a good experience. The property manager,Aurileo,is a terrific guy and also very helpful, They both made our stay worry free. Lisa, Aurileo if you guys read this, thank you so very much for a great 20th anniversary vacation. We'll be back next year without a doubt. My wife and i have fallen in love with Veiques.

Wonderful experience
The house was absolutely amazing and the location was great. I rented a 4 wheel drive Jeep which was recommended based on the hill to get to the house and had no issues. The house has a great view and is very private. The island isn't big and the house was basically centralized so most things were within a 20 minute drive at the most. My only problem was the bed, which was not very comfortable. I will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future!

perfect vacation
This property was everything we wanted and more. It is exactly as pictured with lovely interior space and an amazing deck and pool area. Perfectly situated for island breezes and privacy. Loved the outdoor shower too! We felt like a honeymoon couple (we've been married 33 years) with a little piece of paradise all to ourselves. Do rent a Jeep to get to the gorgeous beaches, nothing is far away on Vieques, and to climb the steep road to the house. There are wonderful restaurants on the island or dine at the house. Besides a well appointed kitchen there's a outdoor grill. The only difficulty we had was deciding whether to go to beach or hang out by the pool.

Pure Paradise!
My wife and I just stayed June 7th through June 11th. We had an amazing time! The level of communication from the property owner and the property manager were top notch. They were there from the very first day all the way up to the day we arrived to provide help and answer all of our questions. They gave us great advice about getting to the island, and recommendations on where to get rental cars, food, and where to go in case of emergancies. Aurelio the property manager is awesome! He met us at the airport to pick us up, took us to get our rental car, and even took us to get food because we were hungry after traveling for hours to get there. He provided a thorough tour of the house, made sure knew where things were and even gave us instructions on how to get around different places on the island. Anytime I called he always answered right away and addressed any of our needs. This property provides spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and the wildlife preserve. The online pictures do not do it justice, it's nearly impossible to capture that kind of beauty with a camera. The pool was larger then it looked in the pictures as well, and we loved how secluded it felt, there is a tall wall that surrounds the whole back half of the property and provides all the privacy you could want for swimming, sun bathing and taking advantage of the outdoor shower which we found to be wonderful. The house is very well stocked with literally everything you could want or need for your stay, we prepared most of our meals there at house, the propane grill was a great bonus too! All you need to provide is your food, drinks, a swim suit, a few personal toiletries, and some clothes for going to town! Like other reviewers have posted about, there seems to be a tradition of guest leaving a little something behind to add to what's all ready there, like sunscreen to the basket in the living room or something for the pantry or otherwise. We added a big box of straws, some herbs to the pantry, and filled the coffee canister before we left! The owners of this property are kind and seem genuinely sincere in wanting to share their slice of paradise with others so they can fall in love with Vieques like they did. All I can say is that if this property is available for the dates you plan to travel, just book it, you will not regret it.

Perfect for two week stay
This is a very nice basic villa with good views of the Caribbean. We needed two weeks of relaxation and this is a place to get that need met. Pool was great! We had all types of animal visitors; not to worry though all were friendly. The kitchen is very well equipped, which was great for us as we like to cook a good number of our meals. The villa has great ventilation allowing us to be cool without the use of any air-conditioning. The support staff are great and responsive. Morning wake up comes with the frogs, insects and birds getting an early start.

Honeymoon perfection, this is where you want to stay!
My wife and I honeymooned in Vieques from October 30th to November 5th and we were fortunate enough to have booked with Lisa. There are so many options when picking a place to stay on VRBO right? We had looked at many places but this one had everything we wanted. Full kitchen, nice ( and extremely comfortable ) bed, cable tv, grill, beach equipment, unlimited internet and a private pool. I love how the past vacationers that had stayed there had left some of their supplies. We had many odds and ends items in the kitchen and in the bathroom. So cool. We left some of our spices, coffee, tea and toothpaste to continue the tradition. She has many kitchen appliances and cooking utensils by the way. Lisa was SO helpful and friendly when I called her with questions about the island and about the ferry. And the best part? She employs a property manager for this rental home that will meet you at the airport or at the ferry and take you to the house. Road signs aren't too plentiful in Vieques. I don't think I would have found the place very easily on my own but he took my stress away, he also took us to get some food when we arrived because it was too late to get our rental car. Then the next day he helped us get the rental, we never had to get a cab. I don't think there are many renters who will do that for you. His name is Aurellio and he is very friendly and knowledgable of the island, he can recommend many places for you visit or eat at. Neither my wife nor myself had ever flown or traveled anywhere of significance. Lisa made our first experience traveling AMAZING. On one day about half way through our stay the Internet had a little trouble. We called Aurellio and it was back working again in less than an hour. GREAT customer service. The house has a nice washer and dryer too. Oh, AND the bedroom and living room has newer AC units. I had a hard time finding a rental in Vieques that has them, most people don't apparently. The house is up on the side of a mountain in a centralized location. You can go anywhere from here, the location was perfect as we traveled somewhere new everyday. I wouldn't say the view was the best on the island but it IS nice. It overlooks the bioluminescent mosquito bay and you can swim there in total seclusion from any prying eyes as the pool is between the house and a high wall. We loved it here and we are already talking about returning for our anniversary. We have absolutely no regrets booking with Lisa, everything was perfect!

Great house and location
We spent a week in October at the house and had a terrific time. We loved the privacy and spent a lot more time at the property lounging in and around the pool and enjoying the views of the Caribbean than we thought we would given the abundant attractions of the beaches on Vieques. Aurelio was very helpful picking us up and directing us to the property and dropping us off at the car rental agency. Everything worked great at the property and the location is ideally centrally located for beaches and getting to Isabel Segundo and Esperanza. We had a restorative week and definitely will return.

A jewel of a doll house
We loved every minute that we were able to stay at this darling home. Nestled at the top of a hill, in a lovely neighborhood, Lisa's home is inviting, relaxing, comfortable, and surprisingly private. It is a beautifully maintained home and we wanted for nothing. The pool, which is the home's main attraction, is the perfect place to relax after a day spent at one of the beautiful beaches on Vieques. One of our favorite things to do was to come back in the afternoon for siesta, sip cocktails followed by a poolside dinner and swimming under the stars. The kitchen is very well appointed and Lisa has a great collection of CD's to play while you're making dinner...or swimming....or relaxing on the front porch. We were entertained and sometimes, though I hate to admit it, annoyed by the neighborhood peacocks - reliable walking alarm clocks with amazing colors. Aurelio met us at the airport and was extremely helpful. Both he, and Lisa, were available to assist with advice if it was needed (we did get lost trying to find Green Beach) and both gave us great advice on how to find it and the best time to go. We also booked a great sail/snorkel with Sea Vieques - a terrific experience with Captain Judy and Dan. The Wildlife Preserve beaches were our favorite and are unmatched by the beaches on Culebra - Flamenco Beach has nothing over Blue Beach. There is great snorkeling just five to ten minutes from the front door. We've stayed on Culebra for several years and decided to give Vieques a try. We're hooked. We're planning to go back in December with a larger party, so will stay in another home, but will definitely be looking forward to our next stay, at Lisa's, in spring of 2017.

Wonderful
My partner and I spent 5 beautiful days in this casita in Vieques. The property manager sent his assistant to pick us up at the airport who took us to the car rental office. He then guided us to the house. The casita was spotless, comfortable and beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the pool was clean. The view was partially obstructed by the house next door but we managed to enjoy it. The location was ideal if you prefer to stay away from noisy Esperanza. It was still close to the National Park where there were great beaches. Overall, we highly recommend this property for a stay in Vieques.
