LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
What a beautiful place inside and out! Definitely one of the best we've stayed at! The drive in was a little rough because of the frozen dirt road, but it was worth it for the large private property where our dog loved roaming freely!

Privacy, peace and quiet
This was our second stay at Valley Vista. It won't be our last. My only issue was the gypsy moth infestation this year. Last year we didn't see any evidence. This year the trees were denuded. There were hundreds of dead caterpillars and moths flying around. I wish there was some notification of the issue. We didn't know if some kind of chemical was used and if it was safe for baby's and dogs to be on the deck.

The tent caterpillars are part of the natural environment and have a periodic life cycle every number of years in the Northland forests (they actually benefit the forest). No pesticides are used on the caterpillars and guests are always welcomed to ask for any further information regarding the property.

Peaceful retreat
Very quiet and secluded property. Immaculate. A simply wonderful place to stay. Close to both Bayfield and Washburn and also the Big Top. Highly recommended.

Great Cabin
Really well equipped. Well-stocked kitchen, game table, towels, etc. Super clean! The grill had a nest in it, which wasn't ideal, but we were able to fix it. Everything else was fantastic!

I rarely give such high marks
This place was secured and very well supplied all the little Necessities like there dish soap , laundry pods and dryer sheets. The Kitchen did not have a dishwasher but it wasn’t an issue for me and my brother. It had an interesting setup down stairs was like a party setup or second living room with a seperat Bathroom and Refrigerator. Loved the views from upstairs in March. The Motieth was rustic camp slash cabin and we loved it.

Great weekend getaway
Everything went smoothly for our trip. We appreciated all the little details in the house. There was plenty of space for what we needed! We loved the fireplace and sitting on the porch (the chairs were really comfortable!)The only thing that could have made it better was a hot tub. Thank you for a great experience.

Relaxing property!
We enjoyed our stay very much. We were so relaxed on the beautiful deck enjoying the view. So big we even played bags up there! Everything was clean and well stocked! Really only needed to bring clothes! Bayfield was beautiful. First time visiting. Will be back l. Thank you David for sharing it with us!

Secluded Home in the woods
Property is a very nice get away home - -not a run down or old cabin feel, but very much a well maintained and modern home. Nicely decorated, all kitchen items there, hotel like stay as far as not worrying about towels, soap, dish soap, etc. Much appreciated. Deck is wonderful, great view and covered for shade/showers with nice chairs. Inside was plenty of room and 2 refrigerators is great when feed a family for a week. Rooms are big and beds comfy with plenty of blankets, we slept with windows open the whole time. (nice metal screens). Hardest thing was trying to keep my kids off the satellite TV while out in the woods but it was appreciated at night for a break. Town is a short distance away for a groceries, etc. The Map provided to the cabin worked well, making the trip 1x and it was easy to navigate again. the last mile or so is a dirt then very loose sandy rutted road for a short section that I wouldn't want to try in a small car or during a rain storm but we never had an issue in dry conditions. Do go slow, we encountered vehicles coming the other direction 2x on the dirt road portion. Could use an electric water kettle or tea kettle for stove for tea, hot chocolate, etc - -one small pan has a pour spout but it is still messy and not very big when heating water for 5 at a time.

Thank you for the nice review. Here is just an update on the road conditions (9/8/22). The township maintains the road and it is accessible by two-wheel drive. This road is well traveled. Drought conditions have made the 5 mile stretch of road dusty at times and washboarded, which is typical. Recent construction activities in the area have created some potholes and short sections of sand to navigate around. In the winter, I do recommend 4-wheel drive in the winter due to higher snow accumulations at that elevation.

Great getaway
The house was very clean and just as expected. It was in a very secluded area which provided a lot of privacy. The deck and outdoor furniture were very comfortable and one of our favorite spaces. The only downfall (which I didn’t notice when I booked) was that you needed to drive on a fair amount of sandy and gravel roads to get there. We ended up with a flat tire which may have been a coincidence, however it also may have been from the road itself since we had our vehicle parked the duration of our trip and it was flat when we went to leave. Other than that the property was excellent and we would stay again even given our bad luck with the tire.

July Getaway
David, the property was perfect and secluded. We could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean and well stocked place. Loved the porch:). I would suggest window coverings in the lower area to keep light out for the person who sleeps on the futon. Highly recommended property. Thank you

Great place, great area
Stayed with family and 2 large dogs. The home was very clean, well equipped, and spacious. The deck and view were awesome. Bayfield and the Lake were a great place to vacation. The only negative was driving the sand road. Definitely need a four wheel drive. We will definitely return.

Great family vacation spot
The property was beautiful and very clean.. Location is quite a ways off of the beaten path and roadway is not the smoothest… but once you arrive you have complete privacy. The cabin is stocked with everything you would ever need. The only negative is the AC- it was very hot during the week we were there and the downstairs bedrooms never cooled down for sleeping. There is just one AC unit upstairs in living room and it didn’t cool off any of the other rooms. Bedrooms need a window air conditioner in all of them. We had a great week and would recommend the property during cooler weather. Bayfield was a fun town to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

A portable AC unit may be found in the basement bedroom closet with baffle to place in basement living area window. The upstairs wall mounted mini-split unit and the portable basement AC unit keep the cabin cool in the summer.

Cozy holiday time in the woods
This is our second time at Valley Vista, the first was this past summer. The design, layout, warmth and utility of the house made it ideal for a family holiday stay with older teens and young adults, who could head downstairs for privacy when needed. We had 2 snowstorms while there, and really enjoyed snowshoeing, skiing, and fat biking during our stay, as well as an end-of-trip meal at The Fat Radish in Cornucopia. The roads and trails around the house made it possible to get out without having to drive, which is always good. The house is very warm and comfortable even in cold temps. We’ll be back!

Beautiful home with incredible scenery
We were very impressed with how comfortable this home was for us, our dog and friends who came with us. We enjoyed touring Bayfield, Madeline Island and spots in between. It was wonderful to come home and relax on the deck and look out at the incredible views. The only problem we had was the road getting to the home is very rough and I suggest a 4-wheel drive to navigate it. Otherwise we loved our stay here and strongly recommend.

Thank you for the nice review. The rough road referenced is the township road that had recent washouts due to heavy rains. The road is accessible by two wheel drive vehicles and the township will repair the washouts along the ditches.

Deep in the woods getaway...just wonderful

Beautiful and peaceful
We stayed here with our kids ages 11-23. It was very clean, beds were comfortable and the home was beautiful! We spent a lot of time out on the porch that has an absolutely stunning view and is incredibly peaceful. There is a lot of space to spread out and we had no complaints.

Awestome views and quiet solitude
Very great place to stay and definitely would like to return. Only negative was that my son said the one downstairs bedroom was hot as there was no fan, so would plan on bringing one, just in case. There was one neighborhood dog that barked a lot, but that was on our last full day, so it was tolerable.

Very relaxing and a great view
It’s just beautiful! My father rented this cabin for myself,husband, 2 dogs and my sisters family(husband, 17 yr old daughter and 2 dogs) I’m not really sure who enjoyed it more us or the dogs. The dogs just loved to walk and sniff everything in the forest. I am very grateful for David accommodating all 4 of our dogs, it was vet much appreciated by us and them. Fishing trip
We came to the area for a guided lake trout trip for our son’s graduation gift. We absolutely LOVED the cabin. It was very cleaned, well stocked, quite and peaceful. My parents and my father law and niece came along and there was plenty of room for all of us. We saw deer right in the yard and heard a whipperwhill bird every night! We will be back for sure!!!

Cameras Everywhere
The property is beautiful and in a really private location. With that comes poor WiFi connection, which is to be expected. What really bothered us was the number of cameras on the property. They are not just pointed at the entry door, but also the outdoor deck area, which is the main reason we rented the place. They also seemed to possibly reach into the sliding glass doors a little bit. We noticed there may be other cameras on the property, such as in a decorative eagle. I emailed the property owner to ask if they check cameras during guest’s stays. They did not reply. When I emailed them days later to ask for checkout instructions, they responded promptly. They never answered my question about checking the cameras, which made us very uncomfortable. I also noted that the gas grill only had two working burners.

Valley Vista truly is beautiful and private. Our consistent good reviews demonstrate our commitment to providing clean quality lodging. If the WiFi is slow, typically the modem just needs to be rebooted. Simply ask owner which breaker to flip. Cameras are placed on the exterior of the building only for security purposes. Upon activation of inside motion sensors, we turn off motion sensors and verify it is a guest checking in. This guest had two dogs not on the reservation and was probably surprised when notified about the pets upon check-in and was sent the pet fee. The grill burners are verified as working, each burner has its own igniter. Please let us know if we can accommodate you in any way during your stay vs. saving it for the end review. Our goal is that you have a wonderful stay.

Family Vacation
The porch and the view did not disappoint, we were debating between two properties and we were sold on the porch! The cabin was well stocked with all the essentials and some things we simply didn't think of. We have and will continue to recommend this property to anyone planning to visit the Washburn, Bayfield, Ashland area.

Officially the quietest place I have ever stayed. My stress level came down immediately upon sitting on the porch. Love that the house has everything you need, just roll up with your clothes, toiletries and food and you are good to go. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Valley Vista for a snowmobile getaway. The house was exceptionally clean and fully stocked. Driveway just plowed prior to our arrival. You can’t beat the views! Snowmobiling in Bayfield county
First time returning to the Washburn area for snowmobiling in many years. Snow was great but it was bitterly cold. Fortunately Vista View was perfect as our rides were short and more time was spent inside. Would definitely return to this wonderful property!

A Hidden Gem
Chose this place as an alternate to the Gunflint trail due to lack of snow in that area. The particular property had great reviews. The place more than met our expectations. A very beautifully located and decorated cabin with all amenities. Great access to snowmobile, hiking and snowshoeing trails. Located within a few minutes from Washburn, Bayfield and Ashwabay Ski hills. Will be a great all season retreat with room for upto 8 people.
