Very friendly hosts who know lots about the local area, walks, pubs, restaurants etc. Parking is a 5 minute walk away but worth it and loved Bowness.

What a great place, so clean and comfortable and just 5 minutes walk to the pier. Angus and Sherry were lovely and look after all their guests (people and dogs) very well. The breakfast is delicious too.

Lovely property very close to all amenities. Comfortable and reasonable priced. WiFi not very good but doesn't detract from an enjoyable stay

Hi Linda. Many thanks for the review. We have installed TP Link in every room which has roughly 50mbs so the wifi should be very good now.. Angus

Exceptional
This really is an amazing place! The owners are brilliant, two people who clearly love running a guest house and it shows. From check in to check out, such a personable service. The property is brilliant, it was super clean, the rooms were great and it was so close to everything. We also had our dog and they couldn’t have been more accommodating, they probably loved the dog more than us! We will definitely stay here when we go back.

Had to laugh about loving the dog more than you. We do love dogs and are perhaps more affectionate to dogs than people but tickling a guest on the tummy is frowned upon I think. You were all lovely and can't wait for your next visit.

Perfect location, Amazing Guest House
My girlfriend and I stayed at this incredible guest house in April and loved every minute of it. We were given a warm, friendly welcome on arrival. Our room was spotless, and had everything we needed from coffee-making facilities, hair drier, and even a fridge. The rain-effect shower was amazing, too. The owners have thought of everything, even down to little things like a little jar in the bathroom containing cotton buds, wipes, and "lady products." There were even doggy blankets. We didn't have breakfast there but wish we had. The location is superb for exploring Bowness, and we would not hesitate in revisiting or recommending this place to anyone visiting the area.

Thanks Mathew. Breakfast is great here but a lot of people just prefer to chill in the morning and pop out for a coffee which is why we only charge those who want it. Maybe next time you can try our fabulous butchers Cumberland Sausages.

A lovely little cottage. Very clean and cosy, the bed was very comfortable. the owners were both warm, welcoming and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Thanks Gary. Bearing in mind you were 2 hours late checking in and 30 minutes late checking out, your dog barked all the time and urinated on our reception I would have thought a 10 out of 10 would have been appropriate but hey, can't please everyone eh?

Lovely stay
Had a great stay. The room had everything I needed, bed was very comfy and good curtains to get a great night sleep. Very warm welcome from both arriving and the lively service for the delicious breakfast of which there was a great selection.

No dining with your pet
We stayed in the deluxe double room facing the street! Breakfast was good but had to dine alone as not pets allowed in dining area! No alternative area for dining together with pet! The b&b is very central but no on site parking! The entrance is immediately on the main road! The place is very clean but no iron in the room! There is a place where you can iron! Check in is 3pm as stated on the door as you walk in!

Lovely relaxing stay
Lovely friendly guest house. Beautiful room, albeit a bit creaky, but to be expected for an old property! Great breakfast every time and well located for numerous bars, restaurants and of course the lake. Highly recommend!

Clean, comfortable room and generous, tasty breakfast. We had a roadside bedroom which was very noisy; parking situation wasn't ideal either, however, we were directed to a car park where we were able to buy a 3 day pass.

An ideal location for Windermere Lake
Great location for the lake, restaurants, pubs and buses. Breakfast choices were good and well presented. In general a very comfortable stay.

Lovely B&B very clean, comfortable bed and great breakfast. Toilet was quite snug but ok. Shower room was fine. Parked 10 mins away at Braithwaite Fold car park 3 days for 17.50 and you can leave car overnight although they do lock the car park...it’s not a “boutique” B& B but it doesn’t claim to be - more cosy and comfortable

Room for improvement
The property is very old fashioned which is fair enough if that’s what you like. The room we were in sounded like the people upstairs were coming through every time they moved. Main issue with property has to be no parking and we had to park at the other side of the village for a fee of £17.50 😤. The breakfast though was fantastic, good meal with good service.

Lovely B&B
Very clean, friendly B&B in the heart of Bowness. Breakfast was excellent. Our room had a four poster bed and our shower was excellent. Fantastic stay would definitely return.

Lovely stay
The location couldn't be better, really near everything. Room was big enough for what we needed and the shower was amazing. Really good choice at breakfast and everything I had was cooked just how I like it. Wanted to stay longer but was booked up and I am not surprised. We will be back

Top marks in difficult times
Just a quick one night stay on our way up to Scotland. In difficult times Graeme and his team were both welcoming and informative. A comfortable and clean room with a top breakfast to boot.

A relaxing break
Great hosts. Everything was perfect. Very extensive breakfast and beautiful room. Easily got a table fan when the weather got a bit warm. They also arranged to get flowers for my wife. Location is very central with lake and pier very close.

Friendly ,comfortable base.
Booked the Virginia Cottage bed and breakfast last minute ,for a couple of days break. Received a very friendly welcome from Graham, who explained everything we needed to know, from breakfast time / options to the hand cleansing procedure when entering the B & B to moving about inside and when leaving. Good choice for breakfast, from cereals to a full English. The full English was delicious ( cooked by Shirley ) and set us for the rest of the day. Our room, number 11, was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Virginia Cottage is in a good location close to all the amenities Bowness has to offer. The only downside, but it's only a small one, is the lack of onsite parking. However, there is a long stay carpark a 5 minute walk away. Would recommend to anyone wanting a few days away.

Lovely Guest House
Had a lovely few days here, breakfast choices were superb, despite them having to do things differently due to COVID-19. At edge of town so easy walk to fab shops and the lake. Def recommend.
