Staff are so incredibly friendly and attentive. They made our stay amazing. The Italian restaurant was so delicious! However, The Oval is not worth your time or money. Highly recommend this hotel and the Italian restaurant!

Never again. The bathroom was disgusting. Bathroom Falling apart. Showered with sandals on. No bathtub. No fridge. No kettle. One side table with one lamp to read. We were 2 people so need 2 reading lamps. Room was nice but all my expectations were shattered. Never again for that kind of money.

A room with a bathtub can be requested. Our standard rooms don't come with a mini-fridge but can also be requested, along with an electric kettle, free of charge. We apologize that you were not made aware that we could send these items up to your room.

Hello Maria-Jose, we're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy our property but we're an older building having just turned 110 years old. Some of our rooms appear to be on the older side but they're well maintained and clean. Our restaurants, spa, event spaces and lobby are all stunning, so it's unfortunate you weren't able to experience those aspects of the hotel. If you stay with us again, please let us know as we'd be happy to give you a tour of the hotel and share its history and heritage with you.

It was a neat stay in an old hotel. Everything overall was great. One detail perhaps that could improve the guest experience would be to clean the water/ice/vending machine area more thoroughly. Other than that, its neat to stay in a 100 year old hotel!!

A unique hotel in the heart of Winnipeg. Managed to keep it's historic atmosphere while also keeping everything updated and modern. One issue was the price. When I booked the room through Expedia, the price was ~$180 after fees, but during check-in, it was nearly $100 more expensive. I would have absolutely stayed somewhere else if I knew the rate would have gone up that much.

Hello Tony, we looked into your charges and could it be that your original booking receipt was reflected in American dollars and when checking out with us, the bill was in Canadian currency? Hence adding the exchange rate on our end but not the dollar amount coming out of an American bank account. Also when people are checking in, we authorize their credit card for incidentals, but that amount is returned to the guest within 3-5 business days. We hope this information helps and we're happy to discuss it further if you'd like to call the hotel directly. Otherwise, we hope you enjoyed your stay!

The motion sensor closet light in my room turned on and off all night. The maintenance staff could not fix it as it was very intermittent and did not seem to flicker on and off when they came and checked. I checked out a day early as I could not do two sleepless nights in a row. Otherwise the hotel is very nice.

This hotel is absolutely stunning! Everyone who worked here was so inviting and friendly, we felt so at home. Only thing is parking is hard to figure out at first and the walls are thin so you can hear every conversation in the room next to you, do not recommend you stay here if you're a light sleeper. Everything else was amazing though and the hotel is in walking distance to amazing restaurants and the forks market. Only place we will be staying at for our next trips to Winnipeg!

Nice hotel and rooms. very chaotic check in , room snot ready at check in time, then staff didn’t bring key ( we had 2 rooms) then couldn’t find the reso, then I was sent to chase to go back and find security who had gone to the empty room with the keys. Felt very disorganized service wise but otherwise good hotel.

Upon arriving when check in was beginning, we unfortunately only had one of your rooms ready right at 3pm. Our bellman ran up to deliver your keys to the second room shortly thereafter but went to the room you had not been in quite yet. The property is not worth the price I paid. Architecture is very nice but convenience wise it’s not worth it. Jo toothbrush or toothpaste, slippers inside the room. And also the pool is located at such an inconvenient space that after swim people have to go through a gym, to get access to the hotel

Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a pool but the residential building next door welcomes our guests to use their pool. We understand that it can be a bit inconvenient but there is a skywalk over to the pool, so you do not have to go outside.
