Wonderful experience!
We went to the Kortekeer holiday home to go cycling, see the war memorials and the Flanders region. The apartment is lovely: very clean, comfortable and in a pretty location. Lots of room and would suit couples and a family. We highly recommend this property and the family are so lovely and helpful. Dank u wel de Demely family! Thank you for your warm hospitality. We will recommend to family and friends.❤️

Brilliant location. Lovely apartment
Lets get any limitations out of the way. The inside stairs can be challenging but the pro's far outweigh any cons and only a bit of a challenge with luggage. Once you are up the space and rustic mod-con comforts are brilliant. We stayed during the last heatwave. It was hot at the top and with thr windows open the traffic noise plus some also from local industry was irritating. We would however return in a heartbeat. Why? Because the place works so well and the basic essential amenities are all there. Danny was very discrete but he and his wife were charming friendly and helpful. I got a parking fine the first day (the parking rules in Ypres are impenetrable) and having battled to pay it our host very obligingly sorted it. The apartment is very well located in Flanders Field with monuments and places of interest all around. The towns are pretty and the locals are so helpful. What more could you want? Well air con and a better inside handrail would be good. 9.6/10.

Thanks for your review. But there is air conditioning (like in a hotel):heat or cold. Perhaps you thought only heating ?

Guter Standort in 'Flanders Fields'
Wir haben 3 Nächte in diesem schönen Apartment verbracht. Es liegt sehr günstig in der Nähe von Ypern, um viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in Erinnerung an den 1. Weltkrieg zu besichtigen. Das Apartment ist sehr geräumig und hält alles bereit, was man benötigt. Es wäre schön, wenn man im Fernsehen auch Zugang zu internationalen Programmen hätte, insbesondere für Zeiten von schlechtem Wetter.

Große Wohnung, unkomplizierte Vermieter und sehr gut ausgestattet
Wir waren eine Woche in Beselare. Objekt liegt außerhalb des Ortes, an einem Kreisverkehr. Zwar auf dem Land, aber nicht unbedingt total ruhig. Leider wg. des Wetters ziemlich mückenlastig. Toller Garten, nette Vermieter. Alles da; Induktionsherd, Klimaanlage, Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine, Föhn… sauber und gut ausgestattet. Fernseher ist leider nichts. Kein Vergleich zu modernen Geräten, nur Antennenempfang und schlechtes Bild. Wir haben es einfach sein lassen. Guter Anschluss an Autobahn, Lebensmittelmarkt im nächsten Ort.

Fijn appartement midden in WW1 gebied
Mooi schoon en ruim appartement van alle gemakken voorzien (er liggen zelfs mini shampoos etc in de badkamer). Goed bed, goed uitgeruste keuken. Alle WW1 sites liggen vlakbij op max 10 min rijden. Aanrader voor wie Ieper en omgeving wil verkennen.

Amazing place to stay!
It is the perfect place if you are looking for easy and fast access to all of the WW1 memorials and sites in the region. We even drove to Oostende to see the fireworks for New Years Eve!

16th Birthday stay
My family (my husband, son & I) came to visit the Ypres & Yser area to see the WWI museums & memorials, which was my son’s request for his 16th birthday. Upon arrival our hosts had a birthday card & chocolates on the table for my son. What a great personal touch! The location to the WWI sites was superb. The cleanliness & comfort was great. We would definitely stay there again if we are in the area!

Design, location, owners’ guidance/friendliness...
Beautiful place architecturally. Interior design and guest accommodation given great thought. Beautifully kept place and property. Ypres/Ieper short distance. If as in our case you wish to see WW1 and beautiful museums you are central to all. The land surrounding the area is gorgeous. A remarkable stay!

Wonderful place to stay
This property was immaculate, spacious, well equipped, and very comfortable. The owners thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. The property is very well located...only a few minutes away from Ypres and about 45 minutes from Bruges. We wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone traveling in this area.

A gem in the Belgium countryside
What an amazing little place. Danny was super helpful. The apartment was clean and well set up. This was a great base for us to explore WW1 ceme tr eries and battlefield yet close to Ypres as well. The town has amazing character.

Clean and well equipped, very friendly and helpful hosts!
Great location to explore the area and immerse yourself in WW1 history. The only downside is traffic noise. With the windows shut it is alright though.

Perfect Country Spot
All the comforts of home can be found in this loft apartment. Well-stocked, well-appointed, and comfortable. Skylights give plenty of natural light, but watch out tall people, it's a loft and the ceiling slopes down. Incredibly clean and spacious. Close to Ypres and In Flanders Fields museum, Paschendaele, and only 90 minutes from Brussels. Short drive (45 mins.) to beautiful Brugge. Peaceful and quiet, even though you are close to the highway, it makes getting from here to there very convenient. Good value for €.

The property was very good. The steep 3rd floor stairs could use a better hand rail for older people like me. The bed in our room could use a firmer mattress. Everything was very clean and in excellent order. We would rent this place again.

My friend and I were visiting Belgium with the plan to visit war museums, grave sites and just explore around Flanders Fields. This apartment was all we expected and more, easy access to all of the sites with very comfortable accomadation

Clean, comfortable and perfect location
We found the location was ideal for our battlefield visits. We had a car and the parking was good. Danny was the perfect host and helped us out wherever possible. His accommodation was a good size and had everything we required. There was a supermarket in the town down the road so could get in supplies as we love to self cater.

Lovely apartment in good location.
A very clean, comfortable apartment. Very friendly, helpful owners. The situation is good for visiting everything in the area. We particularly enjoyed Talbot House in Poperinge and, of course, Ypres is beautiful. Our visit was mainly to commemorate the centenary of my Grandfather's death and visit his memorial in the Railway Dugouts cemetry. This was quite nearby so the location was perfect. We would certainly recommend De Kortekeer and would like to stay here if we visit the area again.

Dachgeschosswhg. auf dem Land für Autofahrer
Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das Appartment ist sehr groß aber im 2. OG mit eigenem Eingang; auf dem Nachbargrundstück stehen Kühe und deshalb ist man nur mit dem Auto hier richtig. Parkplatz vorhanden. Die Lage zw. Gent, Ypern, Lille und Brügge war ausgezeichnet.
