You have arrived in León to spend your holidays. You leave your things at the hotel and get ready to go out to explore this beautiful city a little. On your first day you can visit the Founders Square, in whose center you will find the Fountain of the Lions, added in 1976 and one of the main symbols of the city, in which each lion represents a century. It is a beautiful place to walk and walk around the plaza. Then you can walk along the Heroes’ Causeway until you reach the Arc de Triomphe. This road is 500 meters long and on the way you can enjoy various bronze sculptures until you reach the Arch. It is neoclassical in style, with Doric columns and a bronze lion on the arch. It represents the pride and strength of the inhabitants of León.

On your second day we invite you to visit the El Cóporo archaeological zone. This place is considered the most important archaeological site in the state, in which only 5% of the total area has been explored and where you will be able to observe what were once residential and ceremonial parts scattered around the hill. Then, you can visit the City Museum. This museum, considered the first in the city, is dedicated to preserving and disseminating the work of local painters from the 19th century to the present day, including Juan Herrera, Eloísa Jiménez and Lázaro Zambrano.

On your third day in León, you can visit the Cathedral Basilica of León. This cathedral has a beautiful Baroque-style façade and six internal chapels. It is considered the most important architectural work built during the second half of the 19th century and today it functions as the Archdiocese of León. Even the smallest detail of this place is said to be a work of art. Then, you can visit the Casa Diego Rivera Museum. Known for his adventures with Frida Kahlo, Rivera was undoubtedly one of the most recognized Mexican artists dedicated to realistic muralism. In this museum you can enjoy the Marte R. Gómez collection, which consists of 175 works that testify to the great artistic quality of this man.

It is your fourth day in León and today you can visit the Sierra de Lobos. It is an ideal park for practicing activities such as cycling, hiking and camping. There you can spend the day in contact with nature and observing the 181 species of birds, 34 species of mammals and 39 species of reptiles. It is the ideal place for a camping lunch. Then you can visit the Expiatory Temple. This building of beautiful neo-Gothic architecture was dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its entrance has an image very similar to that of the Notre-Dame rosette, with the deity surrounded by cherubs and at the main doors you can see bronze images that highlight various episodes of the life and passion of Christ. Also, its red and green granite floor was imported from Brazil and its altar is made with two different types of marble.

It is your fifth day in this beautiful city and today we have a quiet day for you, we invite you to visit the Museum of Art and History. This museum is dedicated to the study of man throughout history. It has rooms for temporary exhibitions, a 1500-seat opera house and rooms for learning, playing, screening and even an auditorium.

You have reached your last two days in León and today we recommend you visit the Explora Science Center. This center has more than 270 exhibitions and 6 interactive rooms to learn. It is the ideal place to visit with your family and children, since in each room they will find a new world to explore: movements, communications, space and intelligence. It is a didactic center so that we can all feel more united in knowledge of our world and our universe.

It is your last day in León and we invite you to spend it with a calm day in the Metropolitan Park. This beautiful place, a protected natural area, has more than 337 hectares. There you can visit a dam, ride a boat to observe a submerged hacienda, visit a city for children and even ride a horse.
