A beautiful place to stay. Balcony with a view of Lake. We stayed on Friday night and got to see a special firework show. It was a great stay.

Our room had a beautiful view of the beach. It was on the bottom floor and had a damp smell. The room could use a few updates. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.

The place was ran down. They said they had a Waterpark but it was closed. There was stains on the bedding. Bathroom had hair in bathtub. Had to check in at another hotel.

The only thing that was good about this property was its location. They werent properly stuffed, they have very limited parking...the rooms were dirty and not kept upto rentable standards. The advertisement was misleading and show you a very nice room when booking...but the room you get isnt at all what is advertised. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Bad experience

Nobody to check us in had to go next store hotel to do so room and balcony were not very clean beds very uncomfortable they over charged us and we are disputing the cost.

My room wasnt as bad as what people were making it out to be. Possibly because i honestly expected worse after reading reviews. The carpet was discuting though and the kinda sucked. Other than that it worked for the purpose. A cheaper place to sleep while exploring. Loved the beach access!

Didn't like that we had to check in to the hotel next door for the hotel we were staying at. PLUS, it's no longer called the Fairview. It has a different name which threw us off.

Inconvenient

The view from the room was very nice! Inconvenience to go next door to the sister hotel to check in or get coffee or towels! Didn't use the pool because it was too cold to walk next door. It was quiet and relaxing. The beds were a little bit hard and uncomfortable. The jacuzzi tub was right next to a outlet and it got wet! Thought I was going to be electrocuted!

Beds were like sleeping on a board, rooms not very clean and pool closed. You have to go down stairs to the first floor, stairs on cement and most the lights were out. Very difficult. We will not be back.

We had to go to a different hotel to check in as ours was not staffed. Water park was not at our location so had to travel to get there. It was in poor condition and not everything working. Would not recommend this hotel.

Not Impressed!! Very disappointed!

I would never stay here again. First off, it has a new name and is being run by another hotel next door. Our friends walked in on rooms that were occupied twice and the keys we were given worked on ALL doors! Mold in the shower, one cup for coffee maker, dirty balcony, and very run-down. Our friends got no where with their complaint at the front desk and went to another hotel.

Never again!

Hotel name has changed and we could not find it. Amenities were not as described. Room picture deceiving. No staff...had to check in at a neighboring hotel. Beach was dirty. Doirs not hung properly and gaps allowed bugs in...total dump.

Check in was done at the Quality in next door. 1 towel and 1 wash cloth in room. Told maid service, she said I’d have go next door and let them know at the service desk. Cheap, uncomfortable beds. A 1 out of 5. Would not recommend.

Won’t be back

First they waited an hour before check in to call To tell me my room wasn’t no longer available. Then the shower dripped all night long screen door wouldn’t stay on track tv didn’t work and had to walk to next hotel to get service or check in

Deceiving Website and photos

The website and the photos of the hotel are very deceiving. The room was ran down and not very clean. We had bugs everywhere in the room, and the patio walls were caked with dead bugs too. Very hard to get decent sleep as the walls are thin and it seems a lot of teens came to the beach to drink and bonfire. Was told it had a Waterpark but it’s completely closed and just used as storage now. Check in and check out weren’t even at the same hotel. You had to go to the Quality Inn next door to check in or out, or get breakfast (which was granola bars, apples and coffee). Won’t stay here for the next trip, definitely not worth the prices they were charging. Great view though!

I would greatly appreciate some of my money back from our stay. I had paid for a balcony room thinking this hotel would be amazing. It was exactly the opposite of that! Everything was dirty from the walk up to our room and even the room. No ice from the ice machines no pool or water park. Our phone in the room didn’t even work to call the front desk for questions and when we requested an extra blanket we were told we had to come get it our selfs. The list goes on. Thank you for your time.

Mackinac city was nearly sold out (Saturday night) so took a room here. You know you are in for something when you have to check in at the hotel next door (co-ownership??). And when checking in, you get a key (a real physical key - old school). Hotel is on the beach and three minutes to the ferry so that part was nice. But several lights and outlets didn't work, nor did the TV. We woke up with a lot of small bugs in the room. And despite indicating there was wifi - there wasn't (phones nor computer could connect). Like many other hotels, this place probably fits in with the vibe of the area (which is cool and noble) but it is desperate for some love.

Do not stay here under any circumstance-Horrid!

The smell of the room was very musty, there were bugs between the sheets and mattress pad. Garbage was overflowing, sheets were dirty, furniture was stained, it was absolutely disgusting and the service was even worse. I had 2 rooms reserved for 2 nights, they would not refund anything. This hotel is unfit to stay in, management would not return our call or speak with us. They had no problem running my card. Calling Credit card Co to dispute chrg. Health Dept, Mackinaw chamber or commerce and BBB.

First off, the name of the hotel changed to Grand Mackinaw. No signs were posted about the change and we were not contacted. It lead to some confusion when we were trying to find it. Second, the office to our hotel was closed and we had to go to the next hotel over to check in. Our room was dated, had a weird layout and smelled musty, but that I could overlook as it was clean. The biggest complaint is that was water park was closed and we were not notified. The building was open, but it was under construction. There was debris everywhere, shovels, construction equipment etc. When I went back to the other hotel to complain they said we had access to two other waterparks in the area and they had no clue that one was closed. How is that even possible? The whole point we booked at this hotel was the onsite waterpark. We also booked with breakfast being provided but again, they didn’t have that. We got coupons to some local places but that was still like another $75 that we had not anticipated. One water park at the Crown was okay, the other one at Bridge Vista was half shut down…the big slides weren’t open and one day none of the sprinklers and lazy river were turned on. We made the best of it, but we are highly disappointed. Then to top it all off I am guessing a manager yelled at us because my son hopped on a toy car that was by the hotel. He was on it all of ten seconds and we were packing up to leave. That was just the last straw. There is no way I will ever be back.
