“We enjoyed our stay. The location was central for us to use as a hub to take day trips out and back from. It was just the right size for two. The guesthouse was clean and bright and we were greeted by chickens and a rooster upon arrival.”

“This location was everything we wanted. The view is beautiful. We were able to access the city and be separate. The property had parking and lights that could be turned off and on a timer (which was cool) and we even ended up finding that there were sheep on the property! Thanks for letting us stay!”

“Everything was just perfect. The house is new, very beautiful and super clean. Comfy beds, big bathroom, fully equipped kitchen... Judith, the hostess, is very nice and helpful, true representative of icelandic population. We also rented the car, which is well maintained and worked perfectly for us. The location is great to visit the south of Iceland: Golden Circle, Landmannalaugar, Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River and even Skógafoss. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit...

“This was our first trip to Iceland. This house was the perfect place to stay, as we had a rental car (all cars are stick shift btw so be prepared!) . There was plenty of space, wonderful appliances to use if we needed them, pleasant geothermal heating and heated water, a lovely deck and a hot tub, and walking trails nearby. The property manager gave us some very helpful tips, especially about finding local swimming/hot pot/sauna options. Very comfortable. Highly recommended!”

“The Lake House was beautiful and clean. It was a great spot to start all our adventures traversing the South side of Iceland. We arrived later in the day and had a bit of an embarrassing mix-up with our directions. However, Renate was very nice about us driving into the horse training area, sorry again for that. She was also very responsive to all our needs and our stay was just wonderful. We did not see the Northern Lights, but that may just mean we have to go back. Next time during a month...

“This wonderful home has it all. It is centrally located to all the wonderful attractions in the South Coast. Very spacious, but warm and inviting. The gourmet kitchen was well equipped. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day of hiking. We were able to see a wonderful Northern Lights display with the wide open land around us. Would recommend and would stay here again on another trip to Iceland.”
