My goal of relaxation was achieved! My wife booked me for two nights at this location so that I could have a solo retreat after 1.5 years into parenting our first child. I was hoping to find a quiet Appalachian mountain get-away where I could enjoy some peaceful fresh air and a comfortable / cozy abode to rest my weary and over-stressed parenting mind and body. I'm glad to be writing a review that testifies that I got exactly what I was hoping for.
Everything about this rental reverberated comfort and peacefulness. The dome structure is well insulated, and everything felt plush and well considered inside. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated that it was a king size and had a mattress top warmer so that I could warm it before getting in ( My visit was during Winter). The kitchen was ideally supplied with everything I needed for making my meals, and I appreciated the coffee and tea options that were included. Plenty of spices for cooking with, which made my life easy as far as packing my own supplies. All of the decor was well planned to have me feeling like I was staying in a peaceful meditation retreat.
The view from this dome is beautiful. Mountains are in the distance and peaceful farm fields in the foreground. I enjoyed sitting on the comfy couch reading my book and looking out the windows at this view. There's also a nice wrap-around style deck with seating as well. As I write this I am remembering all of the nice touches like having a variety of sizes of slippers available to wear around inside, the projector and retractable screen, and lots of little things that made me feel like my comfort was of high priority for the hosts.
The outdoor shower and bath area was a new experience for me. It's a well crafted set up with privacy, which seems like a must if one wants to do an outdoor shower. There is a window in the shower structure that has a glorious view of the mountains, so I can see why someone might get used to that. The bathroom was well heated and very comfortable. Everything seemed really new in the design and construction.
I took a nice walk around the property during the day for some fresh air, and enjoyed how quiet it was. For being about 20 minutes outside of Asheville, I was impressed with the quiet and rural vibe. It was hard to leave my comfy nest after two days, but I was certainly refreshed and (mostly) ready to get back to parent duty.
