The town built its name as a historic thermal resort once frequented by the writer Alphonse Daudet. Directly opposite, the Parc Thermal offers shaded paths and a children's play area for gentler days.
• Outdoor Activities: The slopes of Collet d'Allevard are only 10 km away, while Le Pleynet and Les 7 Laux are both reachable in under 30 minutes. In summer the surrounding Belledonne massif opens up for hiking, mountain biking, paragliding and rafting. Nearby lakes and an aquatic centre round out the warm-weather options.
