The host canceled on the day of check-in, which put us in an extremely difficult position as we were already on our way and had out-of-town travelers en route. The reason given was that we had five guests, which is the stated maximum allowed in the listing.In addition, the listing does not disclose that the property relies on cistern water that is not drinkable or usable for cooking. Guests must use bottled water only, and the host provides just 2.5 jugs. There are also restrictions such as no long showers and limited running water—important details, especially for a 30-day stay, that should be clearly disclosed upfront.The situation was very stressful and disappointing. While VRBO ultimately took good care of us, we still spent over five hours on the phone on the side of the road trying to resolve the situation.Based on this experience, I would be very wary of renting from this host.
