  • Located on a 14-acre estate, this bunglaow is an ideal holiday base, situated near the historical town of Alnwick.. All on the ground floor.

    Living/dining room: With wood burner, Freeview TV, DVD player, beams and French door leading to garden.

    Kitchen: With breakfast area, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

    Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed and Freeview TV.

    Bedroom 2: With kingsize bed and Freeview TV.

    Bedroom 3: With single bed.

    Bathroom: With bath, shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.. Biomass central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for wood burner included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. . Large, enclosed, lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. 14 acre natural woodland grounds (shared). Bike store. Parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. Set on a 14-acre estate with views over open countryside, this detached, stone-built holiday bungalow is the ideal retreat. It is located in a quiet location on the owners Estate, with its own large private garden to enjoy the views, only 2 miles north of the historic market town of Alnwick, famous for its majestic castle, Alnwick gardens, and cobbled streets. A superb holiday base to explore the surrounding countryside and the miles of beautiful, unspoilt coastline with golden sandy beaches, peppered with friendly villages and castles. Golf and horse riding close by. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

    Heckley Cottage can be booked together with Heckley Stable Cottage (UK3318) to accommodate up to 9 guests.

Excellent stay in a great location

Cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a week. Owners made us feel very welcome. The garden was a great size and perfect for all of us to play in, with plenty seating. It was a lovely quiet location, well situated to explore the many pretty little towns and villages. Highly recommend

Secluded Delight

Excellant bungalow hidden away in the countryside down a private road. Spacious and clean with lovely gardens around the property with views across the fields for miles. We had nightly visits around 8pm of a pair of Barn owls. 5 minutes drive from the wonderful Alnwick with its castles and gardens and about 25 minutes drive to Amble and the coast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, our hosts were very welcoming and the cottage so comfy with cosy bedrooms, everything we needed in the kitchen and an amazing power shower and bath with a view! The children loved playing in the garden and Hazel said we were all welcome to venture into the woods to see the pheasant and deer. This was our second visit to Heckley Cottage - something very rare as we don’t normally return to the same place! We received a lovely welcome hamper when we arrived. The cottage was just as lovely as we remembered. It is very comfortable and special with the most amazing views. It has a well stocked kitchen. Great central heating and as much hot water as you need. There’s an abundance of wildlife on the doorstep. It’s a lovely tranquil place to wind down. The cottage has spectacular views of county with the 360 degree gardens. The welcome and welcome package were one of the nicest we have recieved. Definitely worth visiting and unlikely to disappoint. This was our second visit to Heckley Cottage. It is a great base from which to explore the coast and castles of Northumberland. It was a pleasure to return to each day to relax in the house and gardens. The welcome hamper was lovely and the hosts, Hazel and Paul, could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Lovely, warm welcome from Hazel - and the best hamper ever! Fabulous cottage amid beautiful countryside. Garden completely enclosed to secure dogs - also the use of nearby field (again very secure) was great. The cottage had everything you wanted - well stocked and extremely comfortable. Close to amenities and near to the coast. Arrived home yesterday and booked for next year in the evening.

Can't fault this cottage just right for us and our dog. The hosts Paul and Hazel are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our dog Marley loves it here with plenty of space to run free. Our first visit and most certainly not our last. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time at Heckley cottage.

We had a fantastic time at Heckley cottage. Paul and Jackie made us - and our two kids and whippets - really welcome from the outset, and were extremely helpful throughout the week. The location of the cottage is difficult to better, with wonderful views and a real sense of seclusion, despite being within easy driving distance of Alnwick and all its attractions... We would particularly recommend the coastline at Low Stands - beautiful, quiet and peaceful even in high season. The layout of the cottage worked perfectly for us and our family, cosy enough for time together but big enough to give the kids some space. The garden is perfect for dogs - even fast ones that can leap walls! All in all, a great cottage in a great location. We will definitely return!

We loved our stay at Heckley Cottage. Hazel and Paul are great hosts. They had left a very thoughtful welcome hamper! The cottage is very central to Alnwick and the coast. There are amazing views and a fab garden.

The cottage is in a lovely rural peaceful location near to farmland just outside Alnwick.

The cottage is in a lovely rural peaceful location near to farmland just outside Alnwick. A good base to explore the surrounding area. The cottage was well equipped and had a nice log burner. It is a good size. I did find the cottage a bit grubby and think it could do with a bit extra cleaning and freshen up. I was disappointed in the garden area which was a bit unkempt and the garden furniture was dirty and worn.

We keep going back multiple times a year. If you want to holiday with your dogs you cant beat it. Wonderful, friendly, accommodating owners. Home from home. Lovely views. Peaceful and quiet. Conveniently close to Alnwick town. Lots to do in locality. Perfection. But don't tell anyone else. It's our secret.

My Sister and I recently spent a lovely week in May at Heckley Cottage. Idyllic spot in beautiful surroundings. The cottage was very comfortable and had some lovely outside areas where we could sit and enjoy the sun and wonderful views. The owners Hazel and Paul were fantastic hosts and made sure we really enjoyed our holiday, and look forward to seeing them again. Excellent cottage,great location with fantastic views and walks from the door with your dog.Very secure garden with lovely seating areas,everything you could need in a holiday cottage with great owners it would take some beating.Only negative nothing to do with the property but many of the castles and gardens do not even let you into the car parks and grounds if you have a dog in the car even if you just want to leave it in the car and have a quick look round so check first on line to prevent dissapointment though thankfully cragside do allow you to walk around it’s excellent park,apart from that perfect!

Superb cottage, completely dog friendly / completely dog safe (the entire cottage and gardens are surrounded by walls and secure gates) and then youve got a large private field to walk dogs in as well. Perfectly located for Alnwick / coast / countryside / night sky. Paul & Hazel were truly excellent as well.
