Very Pinterest-worthy cabin but a few little touches would move it from “pretty to look at” to “wonderful vacation spot.” - Road in and out is “4x4s ONLY” (there’s a sign on the way in), not just in the winter. I cannot imagine anyone with a sedan could get to this property. Road has suffered badly from damage and erosion, so the drive in and out is more treacherous than it needs to be. My friend I was meeting didn’t have AWD and certainly not 4x4 - she was scared driving up at night. Listing warned about winter only. - The lighting situation was SO weird. Exposed bulbs everywhere, too much glaring light in the loft bedroom, impossible to see in the kitchen, etc. We rigged up coffee filters to cover the massive Edison bulb over the kitchen table. Little things like that make a difference for a cozy stay. - “Death stairs” to the loft had us cracking up. We are two women in our 40s and we both were like whoa girl, those are intense. A hand railing on the ladder would make all the difference in the world. All in all, this was a nice place to stay but the cost to value ratio was hard to justify. For the nightly price I would have enjoyed more privacy and more coziness. Host communication was great, all the towels and bedding were comfy and clean, amenities were ready to go and all in working order. Just a few tweaks would make this a great spot.
