We are off course sorry to hear you had such a bad, bad time at The Backstage but without an explenation this is hard to pinpoint or address. You stayed 1 night with us and I haven't seen you at the reception with any complaints. Maybe this review is a mistake? I'm not sure. Our honest apologies for your disappointing stay, we truly hope you have better experiences in your next stay in Amsterdam. If I understand you correctly the main points are shared bathroom and price. Well, let's start with the first. Most of our rooms have private, en suite bathrooms. So maybe that's a better fit for you next time! If you need help picking the right room, don't hesitate to ask us. Regarding the second, the price. Yeah, Amsterdam is an expensive city. We aim to be (one of) the most affordable hotels in the city, but in you case we didn't succeed. Sorry your experiences were not in balans with the rate you paid. Hello Gerardo, Thank you for your review about our hotel. We aim for more than 6 out of 10 though, so let's take a look at your comments. Yes, the staircase! We have a one and half century old building, therefor also a one and a half century old staircase. It can be challenging, but it can also be fun and historic to climb them. We can always assist with the luggage or with yourself - help to master our typical Amsterdam staircase. I understand you booked a room with shared facilities. They can indeed be a cheaper and more low -key sollution for your stay. Most of our rooms though have a private en suite bathroom. Maybe next time? And then about the WiFi not reaching all the floors. Well, that's not good. Because it definitely should. Please come down to the reception next time and ask for assistance.
