My family and I had a great time during our vacation in Anna Maria Island! Our rental, Coconut Lagoon, lived up to our expectations and was the beautiful escape we hoped it would be. The house (which looked like the pictures online) was clean, spacious, and comfortably hosted our family of 8. The house was well stocked with clean linens, kitchenware, and the basic necessities needed in a vacation home. As a friendly note, there is an alarm on all of the doors leading to the pool and it is super sensitive (and loud, lol) so be cognizant of that.
As far as the location goes, the island isn’t that big and seems to be more of a retirement area, so if you’re looking for someplace with an exciting night life, this likely wouldn’t be your cup of tea. If you are looking to simply relax and unplug for a few days (which is what we wanted to do), this might be up your alley. There are quaint shops along the island such as French bakeries, homemade ice cream shops, and breakfast eateries, etc, that were pretty cool to visit. Since we went during Halloween, we were able to get some good old fashioned Trick or Treating in for the little ones, and in 80 degree weather! The beach was no more than a block away and a gorgeous place to relax for a couple of hours. Unfortunately, most of the locals in the area didn’t appear to be too friendly towards us. We weren’t sure if it’s because we were out-of-towners or another reason; however, we didn’t feel the most welcomed, so our best memories of the trip were made in the house.
All in all, we had an awesome time just escaping the hustle and bustle of the world for a few days and spending time with one another. Thank you to VRBO, AMI, and Coconut Lagoon for helping to make our trip memorable!
